cafe steamers

Someone at work had this meal. And it looked really good, so I thought I would give it a try. It was as good as it looked. There were large pieces of real chicken in the meals and the sauce was good and a tad spicy. I was even happy that the peas in the meal didn't taste bitter like frozen peas usually do. (At least they do to me.)

I will definitely get this again. It was a tasty change from some of my staple meals.

thai chicken pasta

Here's yet another Let's Dish meal. I think (for your sake) there is only one more meal to post that I haven't yet from this batch of meals....Hmm....There may be two. :)

Anyway, I was a bit skeptical about this meal because it had peanut butter in the sauce. I am a little weary of meals that have peanut butter in it. But we made it quite spicy and you couldn't even tell there was peanut butter in the sauce.

Here are a couple pictures:

You could add peanuts to it at the end. I chose not to add them, but Chuck put them on his meal.

YUM! I am going to have to make this again soon. Just looking at the pictures again makes me hungry!

pretzel crusted chicken

Here's another Let's Dish meal we tried recently.

It was really good. I was a little worried about putting pretzels on chicken, but it was tasty. There was a honey mustard sauce the chicken was marinating in, too.

The cheesy rice was good, too. Just add sour cream and cheddar cheese to cooked rice and you'll get the same yummy benefits that we did!

The two paired together were a nice combination. I am looking forward to eating the other one of these meals we have in the freezer! And can you tell I like adding corn with just about EVERY meal! :)

chili beef tips and southwest potatoes

Here's another Let's Dish meal that I made recently. You could put the potatoes in the oven which took quite some time, or take the faster microwave method. I chose the faster one. I don't like waiting for my food! The beef didn't take more than about 10 minutes to cook up on the stove. This was a very fast meal to whip together!

This was a really tasty meal. The chili beef tips were very flavorful and the southwest potatoes had the right amount of yummy southwest flavor.

I have one more of these meals in the freezer and I know I won't let it sit around too long before I make it again!

chicken & sun-dried tomato risotto

Tonight I made Chicken & Sun-Dried Tomato Risotto from Let's Dish. Since I am back on dinner duty, I thought I should give some of the billion meals we made and have in our freezer.

If you have never been to Let's Dish, you go to a station and they have all the ingredients there, a list of how much of them you need and then you follow the instructions and put them in plastic sacks or other storage items to bring home. This particular meal came in the plastic sacks and a container for white wine.

Now you cook the chicken.

Then cook the rice and wine.

Then add pesto, cream cheese, and the sun-dried tomatoes along with water. Let that cook down, covered.

Then you uncover it and cook until the water is gone.

Then you add some parmesan cheese and eat!

It was actually much better than it might look. We were pleasantly surprised.

After I finished eating, I packed up the leftovers into a container with some frozen corn. I am looking forward to lunch tomorrow already!

Tomorrow I am making Beef Tips with Southwestern Potatoes...at least that's what I think it was called. It's thawing in the fridge! :)

archer farms real fruit twists

I am pretty sure these are the tastiest little morsels I have had in a long time! They are from Target's Archer Farms brand. They are these little twists of yumminess. They have tons of flavor and taste more like dried fruit than fruit snacks.

See...look how cute they are!

They are kind of like fruit snacks for adults. They are nice to grab just a couple when you need a small snack. I got the Strawberry/Mango combination.

They also had a Blueberry/Pomegranate combo. And they were equally as delicious!

These come in a seal-able sack. Which is a nice added bonus so you can eat just a few and leave the rest for later!

Enjoy!

fresh mixers

I tried a different meal for lunch recently. It's by Healthy Choice and are called Fresh Mixers. I got the Southwestern Style Chicken. It was really good. It was a little spicy, but overall really good for a small dried meal. I would try another.

swedish meatballs

Here's one more meal that I tried recently. (I'll try not to post any more of these for a while!) I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I was expecting the meatballs to be gross, the pasta to be blah, but nope!

There were 5 meatballs that were quite tasty. The pasta was good....big, wide noodles, and I loved the sauce. Most of the Swedish meatball meals I have seen/had usually have mushrooms in them. I was happy that there were no visible traces of mushrooms in this meal. There may have been some ground/pureed in the sauce to give it the "swedish meatball" taste, but I was happy I didn't see them.

I was very happy with this meal and I know I'll be getting it again. It's a nice change from the meals I normally have and it's a good fix if you want a "comfort" food.

slow roasted turkey breast

I tried this meal recently and I loved it. It made me think of Thanksgiving. The turkey was tender, the gravy was tasty and the seasonings in the potatoes were good, too.

Now if I just had some cranberries to go with it!

This meal only has 200 calories, so you could easily justify throwing in some cranberries if you wanted!

If you need a new idea for lunch, give this one a try!

chicken enchiladas monterey

I recently tried this meal from WW Smart Ones. It was all right. It had more calories than most of the others I eat at 330 calories. This sauce tasted like a very mild taco sauce. It wasn't bad, but I prefer a little spicier than that.

If I am in the mood for enchiladas, I think I will stick to the chicken enchiladas suiza meal. It is spicier and has 290 calories.
