I got through another day. Chuck and I went on a nice walk after dinner. I am going to try to get out and walk when I can. I am a little weary about running. I wouldn't want running to harm anything. So walking (at an upbeat pace) is my compromise.

I found out some of the things I need to stay away from:

* No lunch meat
* No soft cheeses (brie, feta, goat cheese, blue cheese)
* Some people recommend not drinking tap water
* Tylenol over Ibuprofen
* No aspartame (Crystal Light, diet sodas, things labeled “light”)
* No hot tubs, jacuzzis or hot baths. I imagine this also includes saunas, but I don't go in them anyway. 🙂
* Most fish (not a problem, I don't like it anyway)
* Never touch cat litter…something in the stool that is very bad)
* Limit caffeine to one serving a day (no problem….I stopped drinking caffeine)

So a lot of things I wouldn't have thought of before or known about. Chuck even did some research on the Tylenol/Ibuprofen thing because he didn't believe it, but thought it would be good advice to follow.

Chuck also called and told his mom the good news.

Anxiously waiting for this day to be over since it's the day I am supposed to get/miss my period.

I woke up twice last night to go to the bathroom. I learned that the beginning of your pregnancy you go to the bathroom a lot because your kidneys are in overdrive cleaning out your body.

I have started drinking LOTS of water. And I am really going to try to get more healthy variety in my diet.

I am noticeably tired today. I just want to sleep. But I am keeping myself busy at work so I don't slow down and it hopefully makes the day go faster!

I am also noticing more smells and I can't tell if the elevators bother me more or I am just imagining it. It's really weird. In a good way!

I am meeting my mom for dinner tonight and I am going to tell her. I know it's early on, but we agreed it was ok to tell close friends and family as long as we make it clear it's in the very early stages and we want to keep it a secret.

She cried and was so excited. I told my dad, too. He was also excited! I didn't expect they wouldn't be happy. 🙂

I woke up and immediately checked the test again because I thought maybe I imagined it. Nope. Still pregnant. 🙂

Another best friend came over that day and I told her. She was SO excited. She was the first one in our group to get pregnant. And she was glad I had now joined her!

I also calculated my due date. February 8th. And learned a little about the whole due date process. Apparently you count from your last period. Which puts me at the end of 3 weeks pregnant…when in reality, I'm not really that far along. But that's the way they do it!

Took the other expired test…just to check, of course. Pregnant! So I emailed my best friend (AKA my on-call nurse since she's on number 3 herself). She was sure I was pregnant and told me to go out THAT MINUTE and get another test. I managed to wait until 10 at night when we went shopping. So near 11pm I took the non-expired test. Pregnant! So I was legitimately excited! And allowed to be!

My only worry then was that I was still a couple days before I was supposed to get/miss my period.

I took a pregnancy test today that I had on hand. It expired in March, but instead of just throwing it away, I thought I would take one and see what it said. Pregnant! But I was hesitant to get excited about it since it was expired. From what I read online, though, expired ones can give false negatives, but don't usually give false positives.

So I freaked out the rest of the night.
