Dewalt Dust Buster

Posted on December 28, 2011 by Andi

The week before Christmas, Chuck and I were out running some errands. I told him I really wanted a new dust buster. With Maddie eating at her high chair and having a tendency to make a mess, I knew I wanted a new one. I had a Dyson one that I haven’t used in a couple years, but the battery was shot and I would need to buy a new battery for it. Since the battery never lasted very long and wasn’t a great machine, Chuck did some research. He found that most dust busters don’t have much battery life and really aren’t very powerful. He wanted one that used his drill batteries, because they are long lasting powerful.

After some looking, he found my new dust buster! It uses the batteries he already has and it isn’t your typical dust buster! This thing is a beast!

It works great! I just love it and I know it is going to get used all the time! It also has a hose that can come out and Chuck, conveniently, has attachments that will fit the hose! So in case you were wondering…..my dust buster is more badass than your dust buster! Smile

Samsunggy

Posted on December 27, 2011December 25, 2011 by Andi

My fabulous husband has outdone himself yet again! He surprised me with a new laptop for Christmas! I was so surprised! I wasn’t expecting it at all. The title for this is because that is what I named my computer. Smile I am a dork, I know.

I love my new toy and have been playing with it non-stop. Well, non-stop being when I am not playing with Maddie. Smile

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday and got everything you wanted (and more)!

Thirty-One

Posted on December 26, 2011 by Andi

I have been a little obsessed with Thirty-One bags lately. I had a party a few months ago and ended up getting a lot of the things I wanted. I use them all the time.

I have one bag that I use for Maddie’s library books. She likes to take all the books out and look at them. When she has had enough of the books, she will take the bag and carry it around the room…usually after she has stuffed toys in it.

I think Maddie likes bags just like Mommy does!

Eos

Posted on October 19, 2011October 18, 2011 by Andi

A friend of mine introduced me to a wonderful line of products. Eos makes chapstick, lotion shaving cream…

I have a number of the lip balms. I love the little sphere shape. It is so unique.

eos

I have found these (and other Eos products) at Target, Walmart, Walgreen’s and CVS. The stores seem to sell different things depending on what store you go to. I have given these as gifts and I have them all around the house.

Oh, and they are organic and blah blah blah….I don’t care that much about that stuff, but that may be an appealing feature for you.

Honestly, I don’t know if they are better than any other chapstick on the market. I think it goes on smoothly and I have been happy with the flavors. But mostly, I love the packaging. If you are looking for a new chapstick (or lotion or shaving cream), I would give it a try!

So Sneaky

Posted on August 31, 2011 by Andi

The other day I wrote about a purse I wanted when I was away, but I was too cheap to get it. Well, my very sneaky, very fabulous, loving husband got it for me! He sent my friends text messages to find out where we went and he had the picture I sent him to work with. It was delivered to the house today. I told him he got a package and he told me to open it. And inside was my pretty purse! He told me I deserved it. How sweet of him!

Here’s a reminder of what it looks like!

So I just needed to let everyone know that Chuck is wonderful. I am such a lucky girl!

Taggies

Posted on August 3, 2011August 1, 2011 by Andi

Chuck’s mom is fabulous at sewing. She asked me to keep my eye open for ideas for her to make things for Maddie. I suggested a Taggies blanket. Maddie is obsessed with tags on her toys. So Linda made these for her.

This little one has bells inside.

Which made me want to try making one. This is how mine turned out.

I actually made an identical one to the one above for a friend, then thought it was so cute that I made another for Maddie. For this one, there is a rattle inside it that I took out of an old stuffed animal I had when I was a kid.

Then I thought….these would make cute gifts for some other friends. So I made some for a couple friends of mine who just had babies. This is how they turned out.

And this one, I took pictures of, but I hadn’t sewn it together yet. So this one has pins in it. Smile

I put buttons inside them so they make noise. Maddie loves hers, so I hope my friends’ kids like them when they are a little older. I think these are going to be a go-to gift for me to give to new babies!

Now, Chuck’s mom also made some balls for Maddie with tags on them. She is already playing with them and chewing on them. How cool are these?

And she even has another project in the making for her and I can’t wait to share it with you!

iPad

My fabulous hubby surprised me with a fabulous gift! He got me an iPad!

20110326-062654.jpg

He said it was sad to see me struggle with my laptop while I sit on the couch all day nursing. I was so surprised! Especially since I didn’t think we’d ever get Apple products again with Chuck working for Microsoft. But Microsoft doesn’t make a comparable product yet. So he got me this beauty! He didn’t get the pink cover (mine is grey) which is good so Chuck can use it, too!

So here I sit…on the couch…feeding Maddie and blogging on my iPad! We’ll see how this turns out!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Posted on February 14, 2011February 14, 2011 by Andi

Chuck got me some of the most unusual and cool gifts ever this year! Keep in mind that I don’t want chocolate as a gift, I like flowers, but don’t want that much money spent on something that dies so quickly (and we’re hoping we won’t be around for a few days if this baby makes her arrival soon) and I just generally like gifts that are a little unique. So Chuck hit the jackpot this year! Check out what he got me!

First, all of the gifts are from Think Geek. If you have never been to this website, make sure you have some extra time on your hands because you’ll sit there for a LONG time looking around at all the cool stuff they have!

This gift seriously made me roll on the floor laughing! They are so awesome! They are Mini Plush Microbes. Yes, you read that correctly. Take a look at the pictures!

Pretty funny, huh! Smile I love them! I can just picture Thumper playing with these one day and people thinking her parents are insane. Smile

Next, he got me some gummy candies. Well, I use “candy” loosely. It’s a Giant Bleeding Gummy Heart and Gummy Brain. I love that they come with an extra tube of “blood” to add to the gummy candies.

I love that they are packaged like meat! So hilarious! I can’t wait to dig into them! Smile

Finally, I got a Heart Hand Warmer. You boil it and then it is reusable! I’m always cold so this is SO exciting!

And of course, we’re also hoping for a baby today! Smile That would be a pretty good gift! I hope you got something great (and fun) from your sweetheart!

Arc

Chuck surprised me with a new toy! A new Arc Touch mouse! It’s so cool! It was delivered the other day. I had no idea he was going to surprise me with this cool little gadget!

Pretty cool, huh? When you flatten it, it turns off. When you bend it up, it’s ready to use! Man, I love being married to a Microsoft employee who gets me super cool things for a fraction of the retail price! Smile

comfort is best

Posted on December 14, 2010January 10, 2012 by Andi

I little over a month ago, I got myself some new tennis shoes. I thought they were great to (possibly) help keep me in shape with all the walking I have done. I found them at Walmart. They are these:

They are like the Sketchers “Shape-Ups” that you have seen around…only MUCH cheaper. I love them. I was worried it was going to take a while to get used to them, but it didn’t take long at all. My legs and butt were sore the first couple days. I loved it.

Then this happened to my feet and these shoes were the only ones that I wanted wear.

My feet have continued to be swollen and I went to put on other shoes this morning (mind you, just about ALL of my shoes are kids shoes) and none of them fit. The shoes above did fit, but Chuck insisted that I go and buy other tennis shoes that fit and were comfortable and didn’t where the butt-shaping ones because the last thing my body needed was to work harder right now.

(I’m so glad I have him around to watch out for me and remind me of things that should be obvious!)

So I went to Target this morning when I got to work and bought these:

They are very comfortable and loose fitting, but supportive at the same time. The material moves very easily which is good for my feet right now. The only strange thing was wearing them after the other shoes. I wasn’t used to flat shoes anymore and kept tripping on my feet today. 🙂 Thankfully I didn’t fall on my face or anything!

So there you have it. Stubborn Andi gets a new pair of shoes. Just what I am sure you wanted to hear about today!
