Early in August (I’m really behind with posts!) we took a trip with my family to my aunt and uncle’s cabin at Breezy Point. I was there the weekend before for an annual girls weekend….I’ll spare you the drunken pictures. Unless you really want to see them. My family has gone to Breezy Point for as long as I can remember. It’s a place I fondly remember from my childhood.

It was such a wonderful weekend! We were busy the whole time and the weekend just flew by. Here are some pictures (ok…lots of pictures) from the weekend.

My aunt and uncle have a bunch of grandkids, so they had oodles of toys up there. We never even took out the toys we brought with for the girls to play with. Here is Maddie having fun in the car.

We got Maddie a cot for our trips this summer. She did great and really loved her own little bed.

We went swimming and Maddie loves the pool more and more. She is also getting brave and likes to swim by herself with her noodle.

Maddie found the bug net. She had a great time trying to catch bugs. I don’t recall if she ever actually caught anything, though.

Maddie wanted to eat breakfast on the floor one morning. Of course, this meant that mommy had to sit there with her.

We went fishing one day on a nice little dock. We even caught a few fish.

Maddie discovered she liked my headbands. She put this one on all by herself.

Another park. Maddie loves to hang and climb! It’s so nice that she is old enough to do just about everything at parks and we don’t need to watch her as closely.

One night we walked to an ice cream place. Maddie picked pink ice cream because it’s her favorite color. She was pretty excited to learn it was strawberry. She told us she loved it!

Dannie was happy we took her out of the stroller to bang on the table!

We went to a berry festival in a neighboring town. There was shopping, food and games.

Maddie really loves Adam. They are so silly together. Adam found these hats somewhere while he was out on the golf cart. They were a big hit with Maddie…and Adam.

And these last two pictures just remind me of summer. Dirty, same clothes for days, s’mores all over your face, bare feet….and a 4th of July hat.

A couple things we didn’t take pictures of:

• lots of walks
• we went canoeing a couple times while the girls napped
• Chuck, Dave, Charlie and my mom played tennis, roasting Starbursts (don’t bother trying…it didn’t actually work), camping in the back yard (Chuck, me, Adam and Katie…and Kipp) camped. My mom, Dave, Charlie and our girls stayed in the cabin.
• Chuck, me, Adam and Katie went out for drinks and dancing one night. We had a great time.
• lots of rock throwing….one of Maddie’s favorite activities
• a picnic dinner after grilling

We are so thankful we got to go enjoy some time away with the family. We had a great time and I was sore for days from all the laughing (it might have really been from the dancing) and I love that we made some great memories with the girls!
