Yay for the Twins! It was an exciting game last night. (So I was told since I was sitting in class during the game and getting text updates from my hubby!) They are now off to play the Yankees tonight for the start of the playoffs. Should be fun. Of course, I am in class again tonight, so I'll find out the score via updates. 🙂
After class, the bus I take home goes through downtown. Normally, this isn't a big deal. Last night it was because the game ended shortly before my class ended. So downtown was filled with brake lights. I snapped a picture from the bus.
We sat on the bus, stopped, for quite some time. Pedestrians were walking much faster than we were going. We got on the freeway the time I am usually getting in my car. It was a late night, but I'm still excited for the Twins. Plus I got lots of reading done for class! So it wasn't all bad! 🙂
These are some flowers Chuck picked up for me this weekend before we had people over. They are so cool! They are fall/halloween colors.
He left the orange tulle on it and I love how it looks!

There's a good chance these will be at some event I have. So if you were on the fence about attending, you should really come in hopes that I have these.
These are Cake Pops from Bakerella. I think she might be my new hero!
What I am going to say next, just might possibly be heresy to most. But I don't really like cake. I do, however, like making things other people like…and one of those things happen to be cake. 🙂
And when I saw this adorable idea I thought it would be a fun appetizer to have out. I might even make them without the sticks and they'll be just as cute! I'm so excited to give it a try!

Do you think I could find some fabric like the picture below and get away with making curtains for my eating area in my kitchen with them?
I have this pattern on my background on my computer at work and my laptop. I love it. I love stripes. I love these colors. I just love it! I also have what one might call an obsession to stripes and all things striped. I just find them appealing and soothing. Strange, I know.
Anyhow…at some point, I want to get some curtains for the eating area in the kitchen. I am sure my neighbors love watching me do dishes. (Although, I am sure they don't even care I am there doing dishes…no one wants to know what their neighbors are doing! *cough*)
There are a few problems with this curtain idea:
Hmm. Those are a lot of cons. So maybe I should rethink this. If I do find something similar to this, I might just have to make curtains for my one lowly office window. 🙂 I could do that. And I don't have the red issue…there's already lots of pink, green, blue and white things in there. 🙂 It would be perfect.
And of course if I found the perfect material, I would get lots of extra to make purses, aprons, pot holders, pillows, and maybe even a tree skirt with it! Can't you just imagine how pretty each of these things would be with those stripes?! Because I sure can!
I think I will just be headed to the Ikea website to browse around and see if they have something stripy and fun (with red in it) for my kitchen instead.
