Look Look Look! The house next door has grass! YES!
That was all!
— my little corner of randomness —
1. Advil. It made my headache go away. Thank you Advil!
2. The comforter on our bed.
3. Getting a second door bell installed. Now we can hear people ring our doorbell when we are upstairs.
4. Soup for lunch.
5. My delicious burgers for dinner!
1. Seeing old friends
2. Getting homework done early so I can meet a friend for some shopping
3. Shopping with one of my best friends
4. A dress that fits just right
5. A wonderful wedding!
1. Hardly anyone in the office. Makes for a productive and quiet day.
2. Velveeta shells and cheese with peas and bacon bits. It sounds gross, but I love it!
3. Finding a purse I HAVE TO HAVE, but had the will power not to buy it. I may not have the same power tomorrow!
4. Finding a new recipe that looks easy enough even for me to try! Simple Sesame Noodles
5. Hanging out with my sister-in-law and her fiance!
Over another pink purse! (Are you seeing a pattern here?) And notice how perfectly the pink in the purse matches the pink on my website. A coincidence? I think not!
I saw it at Target today (just in case…my birthday IS in November). And it took every ounce of will power in me to put it back. I held it, scoped out all the pockets, looked at myself in the mirror with it, carried it around (as a test drive of sorts)….and then hung my head and put it back. Why would I put back something so lovely, you ask?
Because it was $25! I know I know…that isn't much AT ALL for a purse. The one I use almost every day I felt guilty about for months. It was $40 and I bought it OVER A YEAR AGO! That was the last purse I bought.
Some days I wish I weren't so cheap.
I am a bit behind posting about the house next door. They are flying and I'll post some more pictures of the progress in the next couple days (after I take the pictures). But let's get caught up with the pictures I do have!
The house now has a driveway and a walkway with steps leading up to it. It looks very nice. They have more steps than we do. We have one step then the porch steps. We really have a flat lot!
Here's a view of the steps/walkway.
Here's a view of the whole house and driveway.
I got home from work one day and was so excited to find landscaping! The landscaping is exciting because that goes in before sprinklers and GRASS!
This is the side of the house next door that faces our house. Note all the grass that is already there. That is ours. Before we got grass we thought our lot was smaller than it really was and thought the grass was on the neighbors lot. Turned out that we had a bigger lot than we thought and have more side yard! Yay. You'll notice the house next door doesn't have much side yard. It's also nice that there is a good distance between our house and the new one. Then we aren't right on top of each other. Ok. Ok…here's the picture.
This is the same side of the house, but including the corner of the house.
Continuing to move around the house…
The front.
The far side of the house.
The tree on the far side of the house. There's another one like this in the back yard. I think these are Honeylocust trees.
The whole house.
So now you are all caught up with all the pictures I have taken so far. Next for our house, we have to get some trees planted this fall in the back yard. I was hoping to wait until I found out what trees were going to be planted on the boulevard. I don't want to plant the same thing in the yard.
Chuck also built some shelves. Some in the garage and some in the basement. I should take pictures of those! I know you are dying to see pictures of shelves!
1. A new shirt
2. Drinking soda out of a martini glass
3. #2…with a straw!
4. Going to bed early
5. Spending time with my hubby!
If there is anyone out there that would lovingly buy me an $8.04 bag…this is the one I want. It's on clearance at Target and I want it!
Thank you in advance for getting this for me!
I finished this book before classes started a few weeks ago. I just haven't had time to post about it.
This was another book by Sophie Kinsella (the author of the Shopaholic series). I normally would have given myself a break from this author, but I borrowed this book from a friend and wanted to get it back to her.
On a side note…I am sorry to that reader out there that I borrowed some books from when I came to see your house (you know who you are!)….you might not get them back for a while. Leisure reading hasn't been on the schedule lately. Let me know if you need them back any time soon!
So anyway. This was a cute story. The main character is on a plane (she hates flying) and she thinks she's going to die on the plane (there's a bit of turbulence). So she spews forth all her dirty secrets to the poor unsuspecting stranger sitting next to her on the plane. Turns out…he's the big-wig boss of the company she works for. *GASP* Things get much much worse before they get better in the book, but it was so funny. I know that's a little mean of me (to laugh at the character's misfortune), but it IS just a made up person. So all the guilt left me. 🙂 I put my hand over my mouth in surprise a couple times in the book. It had me laughing and I just couldn't imagine what I would do in her situation.
If you're looking for something lighthearted to make you giggle, read this book. And whatever you do….don't tell all your little secrets to a stranger….you just never know! 🙂
I am seriously in love with this flavor of Ramen Noodles. I don't want to hear how they aren't nutritionally sound or blah blah blah. I love them and they are delicious! So there. 🙂 They are spicy, and pasta-y and just…yum. I have them for lunch now and again and sometimes even for dinner. If you aren't into spicy foods, I don't recommend these to you. But if you are….give them a try.
And thank you to my brother's girlfriend for telling me about this deliciousness!
