Something about this weather lately has been making me want to ride my bike. I think all the people riding their bikes around the neighborhood are contributing, too. I want to rollerblade, too, but not quite yet. So last night I suggested we go on a bike ride. Chuck said we should probably eat dinner. So I thought it would be fun to ride our bikes to GET dinner. We rode our bikes to Subway. It was a nice 3.5 mile ride there. On the way back, we went a slightly longer way and found some trails in the neighborhood. So we rode about 7.5 miles and it was so nice. I am not as sore today as I expected. I can't wait to do it again!

One more update and I think I am caught up until they do something really drastic. Which I am hoping will be siding! I can't wait to see what color it's going to be.
You will note there are now windows on the house and a front door. There's also shingles on the roof. So it's really coming together.
They are constantly working on things inside the house, but I am not going to update that. Because…well, I don't want to be a freaky neighbor. I might get in there and take pictures at some point, but we'll see. I will at some point post a couple other pictures I have on hand. Some are alternate fronts for this house and the floor plan. I am sure that will help some of you visualize it…because I know it helps me. I also want to post what some of the other houses in the neighborhood look like. Along with some of the other fronts our floor plan can have. But all in good time my friends. 🙂

Look! A roof! How exciting! At least I think it's exciting. 🙂 It looks so different with a roof. It looks like a house now! 🙂
Until next time my house followers!
Serial
This was a short little book from two authors…Jack Kilborn and Blake Crouch…titled Serial. I haven't read anything from either of these authors, but this was fun. This book was free, because it was something the authors were trying out. It was also quite short and I have not been able to find it in a form other than Kindle.
It was a collaboration. One author wrote the first chapter. The other wrote the second. Then they put their minds together for the third. It was really interesting. From what I have read online, these are pretty twisted authors. I thought it was good. But I am not really bothered by gore in books. If you don't like it, I would stay away from it.
Now, Kindle is a reading device you can get. It's a thin book-sized tablet. You download books and then read them on the Kindle. This is great for people that travel a lot because you can bring lots of books on just one device. Some people don't like reading that way, but I think it's so cool! I will probably put it on my Christmas list this year. How can I read these then? My iPhone has a Kindle application so I can use the same books on my phone. I think it works pretty well. But I still think a Kindle would be cool to have!

The house is moving right along. They have it all set to put a roof up and have the awning for the front porch attached.
Until next time!
Cheesy Chicken & Salsa Skillet
I came across this recipe from Kraft Foods website. I love their magazines and I had to give this one a try. I had everything I needed except for the green peppers, but it was great anyway!
You can get the recipe HERE.
It was really simple and quick to make. And also very delicious! I made mine with hot salsa and I think I would use medium next time. It tasted really good, but my mouth hurt for a while after. 🙂 I will definitely make this again!
Rollerblades
I have been wanting new rollerblades for quite some time. I used to have a pair, but I have no idea where they went. And with all the trails around our neighborhood I knew I had to get some. So Chuck and I went out on Thursday and got these beauties for me!
Now, I want to hear nothing about the fact that they are purple (I wish they were pink) because kids skates happen to come in colors such as purple. I think they are really cute, though. They fit well and that's what really counts. (Chuck got new ones, too.)
So yesterday I wanted to give them a try. I went around in the driveway while lunch was cooking and thought the guy at the store was crazy when he said these weren't very fast. HA! They are *plenty* fast for me! Which is evident by the lovely huge road rash on my very upper thigh. I considered taking a picture of it, but it's a bit awkward. I can't even see all of it without looking in a mirror.
We were heading down a trail neither of us had been on before and it was a little steeper than I thought. I was doing ok…then lost my balance slightly and knew what was coming. Chuck had turned down the trail (where I should have turned) just in time to see me go splat! He knew it was going to hurt, but I was a trooper. I didn't cry and was bound to keep going. Chuck knew better and made me go home. This was after only about 5 minutes of rollerblading. Ugh!
I felt fine all the way home and then when I took my skates off it hit me…OUCH!!! Man did it hurt. Chuck could see how badly I hurt it…I could not. So he knew I had to get in the shower and clean it up. That is just cruel punishment. I just fell, why torture myself with soap and water? So then we hunted our records to see when my last tetanus shot was…no clue. So we run over to the Target Clinic to get me a shot and make sure my cuts looked ok.
Even with all the pain of the shower, I was told a I did a great job cleaning it. So thanks, Chuck for forcing me to use soap! 🙂 Then I got my shot…so my arm now hurts on top of that. I hit my hands and so the fleshy part under my thumbs are sore…one more so than the other, I can't sit well because it hurts, I am bandaged like crazy…Then we met some friends for dinner and a movie (which were planned prior to my incident, but I wanted to go anyway).
I made it through, I just walked a little slowly. But my ego was hurt more than anything. But I am not discouraged by this…if I weren't so darn sore, I would be back on those things today. Chuck has highly advised against it. 🙂
Today I am doing a little better, but the medicine isn't working as well as yesterday. I clearly don't have the adrenaline that I did yesterday from it. I have a kink in my neck from sleeping funny last night since this is on my left side…which I sleep on. And also woke up feeling quite congested. Oh…and the doctor told me to wash my cuts in the shower this morning…with soap and a washcloth. Sounds like a good idea in theory. But oh man! Those people are just pain prescribers! That hurt worse than falling! I am a mess to say the least! 🙂 But I am still smiling and laughing at myself.
Hope you have a less eventful 4th of July! 🙂

Here's another highly anticipated update on the house next door!
More house….(This is the side of the house, the side we live on.)
And more house…..(This is the front of the house.)
And still more house….(You can see a little of our house on the left!)
Until next time my fellow house stalkers!
Shopahoic Ties the Knot
I just finished this the other night. It was the third book in the Shopaholic series. It was yet again another cute book. The story wasn't hard to follow and it was a quick read. I find it amusing that the main caharacter always seems to get herself into such predicaments. I think she has some avoidance issues! But overall, it was really creative and the endings are always happy. All issues are resolved. Which isn't all that realistic, but it's what makes it a fun book to read! On to book number 4 for me! We'll see how quickly I read this one and how long before you see another book post! 🙂

Here's another update of the house next door. This is a picture looking in one of the garage doors. You can see the stairs as well as a couple windows above the stairs which are part of the two-story living room.
This is standing inside the garage.
For this next picture, pretend you are crooked…because I apparently was when I took this picture. 🙂 I wanted to show this (crookedness and all) because you can see the three arches in the entry way. I pointed out one the other day.
This is the back and the goofy pointy eat-in area. (You can also see our house on the ride side of the picture.
This is another kind of crooked picture. I stuck my head inside the house from the back. The arch you can see will be on the left side of the living room fire place. I have my head somewhere in the eat-in or kitchen area.
And finally, a view of part of the front of the house. I wanted to take this so you can see our house, too! 🙂 Just because I am silly like that. There will be a porch on this house, too. It will be by the door and by the big window you can see. You can't see the 3rd garage in this picture either.
It looks so different every day when we get home from work. I get so excited to see what they have done when I drive up! I love surprises! 🙂
