More pictures of the new house

Posted on May 12, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

I went to the house this weekend with my mom. It was a great Mother's Day gift for her. She was just as excited as I was when I saw it and even squealed the same way I did. ๐Ÿ™‚ So I'll show you some of the highlights. The rest you'll have to come and see for yourself!

First, you can see the FLOOR PLAN here if you missed it the last time.

*I am editing this to add that after I see all of the pictures up here, I realize I should have turned on more lights in the house before taking some of these!*

This is the front of the house. Note that we now have a driveway and walkway up to the house. And when we went there today, we even had a mailbox!

This is the 3rd garage. Some people have had a hard time figuring out how it works.

This is the inside of the garage.

This is what is across the street. This is where the park and pool will be.

This is the view of the house when you walk in the front door. The study is to the left and the dining room is on the right.

This is a picture of the living room. I just love all the built-in cabinets. There are some similar to these at the top of the stairs. I also love the floor length windows in the living room and the bottom portion of them open.

This is a picture of the living room from the kitchen area. You can see the stairs in this one, too.

This is the eat-in kitchen area.

This is the kitchen from the living room. Note the double ovens! The sink is in the island and the door is the pantry.

This is a view of the cabinets over the stove top. I think the glass doors add such a lovely touch!

All of the lower cabinets pull out. I this is so useful! I can't wait to use them!

There are garbage cans that pull out, too. These are in the island just to the left of the sink. The dishwasher is also in the island to the right of the sink. (The rug was in there when the house was staged. It isn't mine.)

This is one of the bedrooms upstairs. I love that this one has a seat built in. I always wanted one of these growing up.

This is the master bathroom. The shower is off to the right and the tub is to the left. The toilet and closet are to the right around the corner. There is a gorgeous closet in the bathroom, too. You can see that in the reflection in the mirror.

This is the tub in the master bathroom. I can't wait to fill it up with bubbles! I am sure that will be where I land after all the moving!

And this is the master closet. I know there are a couple of you out there that really want to see this!

There are a couple pictures I left out…believe it or not. ๐Ÿ™‚ I didn't see a point in showing the other bare bedrooms or the master that doesn't have anything in it. The retreat isn't that thrilling without anything in it. And of course, there are other bathrooms that aren't that exciting. So I am sure I will take a new batch of pictures once we get things in there. But I thought this would satisfy the curiosity out there. Enjoy!

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Posted on May 8, 2009January 30, 2011 by Andi

I recently finished reading this book. My friend, Katie, read the series and gave them to me. There are 5 books in the series and this is the first one. (I just started #3.) I was able to read the quite quickly even for my slow-reading self. This book made me not like shopping. Or at least I get much less excited about it. I know I am going to be banned from the girls shopping club for saying this, but I didn't know a lot of the brand-name-dropping that went on in the book. I guess I am just too cheap. I am sure I am also going to want to watch the movie. Maybe I will be able to convince Katie to see it with me sometime. *hint hint* ๐Ÿ™‚ So if you want a fun, quick read, check these out.

We aren't going to be homeless….

Posted on May 3, 2009 by Andi

Because we bought a new house! It's in Rosemount and is in an adorable neighborhood. We close on the 15th. Yes, that is the same day that we close on the current house. So we'll close on one, get the other and move the few things out of the current home into the new one the same day. It will be a busy weekend, but it is all worth it! We've been packing all weekend and have just about everything we have in storage. We are also happy because this is a fresh start for us. We really need it after the last few months!

This is the MLS picture of the front of it.

Now since it is brand-spanking new, there isn't grass, a driveway, a mailbox or a walkway up to the house, but they are all on the way! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are a couple pictures of the floor plan.

The 1st floor:

The 2nd floor:

The basement is unfinished, which we love, and there's nothing to do on the first and second floors. It's painted and everything!

Here is a picture of the neighborhood. Our house is circled.

We are on a corner lot and there will be a pool and park across the street from us. I am so excited! ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't have any pictures of the inside yet. I will take those soon and share them! But you'll just have to be in suspense a while longer! ๐Ÿ™‚ We can't wait to have people over to see it!

What is a Scropio like?

Posted on April 30, 2009 by Andi

I am not entirely sure why I looked at my horoscope. I never do that. But I saw this blip about Scorpios. I found it interesting that there are many things that hit home to me on this. Eh…I take all these things with a grain of salt though. They aren't really my thing. ๐Ÿ™‚

*******

Though Scorpio's main symbol is the scorpion, it is also represented by the phoenix, a magical bird of transformation. The phoenix dies by way of spontaneous combustion and then is reborn from his own ashes. This theme of transformation runs strong throughout the lives of Scorpios. In one lifetime, a Scorpio will have many incarnations. And Scorpio is often unrecognizable from one identity to the next รƒยขรขโ€šยฌ”ย the transformation is that complete. Scorpios have a lot of fun creating and recreating themselves. This sign possesses great magnetism and mystery, partly because they do not fear change and do not care an awful lot about what people think about them. The enigmatic charm of Scorpio has a potent effect on others and so it comes with responsibility. Scorpios must be mindful of their powers and difference they can make in the lives of others. Psychic ability is associated with Scorpio and often this sign will make decisions purely based on instinct. They can be very private and careful about whom they let into their inner circle. Scorpios know immediately whom they click with and are seldom dissuaded from their first impression of another person.

A much needed vacation

Posted on April 28, 2009 by Andi

Chuck and I just got back from a much needed vacation. We went to Florida for a few days to relax and refresh ourselves. We went to the beach house where we got married. We hadn't been back since we got married in November 2004! We didn't have any plans going down there. The only planning we did was get tickets and a car. Other than that…no plans! It was great. We hung out with Chuck's aunt and uncle a couple days who own the beach house and then were on our own a couple days. I will have pictures at some point and tell you a bit more about it.

My guess is that I won't have them too quickly since we have a LOT going on. Since the house is sold and we close on May 15th, we have to find somewhere to live until we get our next house. Then we have to move out and house hunt. Along with that, I have to get going on my calculus work so I am all set for computer science classes in the fall. On top of all that, we are both still working. So we will do our best to keep in touch, but we apologize for our absence during this busy time. I would like to say life will slow down at some point, but does life ever really slow down? ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope all is well with those of you that read this! ๐Ÿ™‚

Inspection…no longer pending!

The inspection went great and there was nothing they wanted to negotiate. So we are good to go! Florida, packing and house-hunting are next on the list! Yay!

Guess What!

Posted on April 17, 2009 by Andi

Our house is sold!

The inspection is scheduled for Tuesday and by Thursday everything will be good to go (which is cooincidentally the day we leave for Florida). They wanted a 30 day closing, so pending the inspection and everything going well, we need to be out May 15th! How exciting. I always knew it could happen that fast, but when you see the date (and realize all the plans you have in those few weeks) it comes as a little shock. But we have most of our stuff in storage already and we have lots of family and friends that will help if we need it!

I am really exited someone loved our house as much as we did when we first saw it! We plan to look at houses in Eagan. And since the closing is so close, we'll probably get an apartment downtown while we find the perfect house! But I have been doing lots of looking online at houses and I can't wait to start looking at them in person…and not just casually, but to actually LIVE IN! YAY!

It's extremely nice to have some good news mixed in with the crappy stuff that's been going on the past couple months.

I thought I would post the other pictures of our house that were on the listing. At least this way I'll have it saved somewhere to look at later. If you have questions about any of them, let me know!

I wish they would have taken a picture of the basement bathroom, but I am sure it would have been hard to get a good picture. I don't have very good pictures either, but I love how it turned out with the purple walls and green towels/rugs. I also don't have red soap in there anymore…it's green. That was what I had on hand at the time. ๐Ÿ™‚

So that's what new here! ๐Ÿ™‚

Gym Sadie

Posted on April 14, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

Chuck snapped these funny pictures of Sadie the other day. She was crawling into his gym bag and then turned around and looked at him. I thought they were really cute. ๐Ÿ™‚

One Fifth Avenue

Posted on April 14, 2009January 30, 2011 by Andi

I just finished reading this book. Well, I guess I can't really claim I read ALL of it. I read the first 1/3 or so of the book and then I skimmed the rest. I just couldn't get myself into it. It was a cute book, but I wasn't really into the New York life. It was a bit like Sex and the City. Which was a great show, but I was having a hard time keeping my interest with the book.

It's an easy read if you want something kind of silly and mindless. But I can't recommend it too much since I didn't really read it all. ๐Ÿ™‚
