Sherpani Wallet

Posted on February 19, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

I got this wallet the same time I got the Keen bag. (There's one more bag I got…I will probably show you that tomorrow!) I found this little guy at REI, too. I know they have some Keen wallets I really liked, but this one was on clearance….so I passed on the Keen one. Maybe one day, though!

It's a very versatile and usable wallet. I really hadn't found anything I was really happy with and have so many wallets because I don't like any of them 100%. But I have been quite happy with this one. There's ample space for cards (at least the ones I use and keep with me), money, receipts, change and even my pen. So I have been quite satisfied. I do like the flowers on the inside, too. I had to take a picture of mine with all my junk in it since I couldn't find a picture of the inside online.

Keen Bag

Posted on February 18, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

This is a new bag I found at REI in the clearance section shortly after Christmas. I love this bag! It is by Keen and I think everyone should look at their bags. I have had two people buy one of these since I got mine. They do come in other colors (and yes, this is the color I have). I would have gotten something different if I had other color choices, but for the extremely cheap price I got it for, it was perfect!

There is front pocket that the flap covers. There are also side pockets (I put my water bottle in there). But they are more easily accessible after you pull the flap up. They are easier to put things in that way. The bottom also has a hard rubber on the bottom which is nice for stability and when you put it on the floor. There is a zippered pocket on the back. When you pull the flap up you can open the flap and there is more storage inside there along with a light. This is a picture of that:

It is a little big for a purse, but that doesn't stop me from using it all the time. I think this would make a really nice bag if you have work things to bring around, for travel or for school. So that is my new favorite bag. I highly recommend getting a keen bag. I love them as much as I love their shoes! 🙂

Daddle

Posted on February 17, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

This is Daddle. Chuck's sister has two cats and this is the older of the two. She's a silly cat…and HUGE. 🙂 She isn't really that big, but compared to our tiny Sadie, she's huge. 🙂 Apparently Daddle likes sitting on their bookshelves all the time. It just made me laugh. What strange places do your pets like to hang out?

Newest Haircut

Posted on February 16, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

Not too long ago, I decided I needed a new haircut. So I cut it off. It's nothing fancy, but I am so happy to have it shorter! I found a place in the skyway and went on my lunch break. Man, is that the way to go! I am so excited that I learned about how easy that is. Just call and go. It's so nice. So if you have the opportunity to do that, I highly recommend it. Oh…and here's a picture of my new do. I took this picture while I was sitting at my desk when I got back so it's done with my phone and probably not the best picture ever! 🙂

My Kitty Makes Me Smile

Posted on February 12, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

I have found Sadie in some very funny places lately. And she lets me take pictures of her. In this first one, she is sleeping on the vent on the floor in our office. She's getting old, so she likes the vents a lot! 🙂 it still makes me laugh when she sleeps on them. There's one in the living room she likes, too. She covers the whole thing. 🙂

In the next ones, she was sleeping in the corner in the hallway. I think I was getting ready for work at the time and she was hanging out near me. As soon as I went to take the picture, she started stretching…it was cute. 🙂

My kitty makes me smile. I wanted to share these in the hope that she would make you smile, too. 🙂

The Last Lecture

Posted on February 3, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

Chuck got this book for Christmas and said I HAD to read it. I have been doing some soul searching and this was a good book to read during something like this.

This book was so inspirational. It makes you look at your life and what you want to become and do with your life. It makes you think about what is important and what isn't. Things happen that you can't do anything about (like getting Pancreatic Cancer, like the author), but you need to deal with the unexpected and do all you can with the time that you have.

Another thing he talks about is to dream big and go after those dreams. Nothing is too big. I have a hard time doing that. I have a tendency to think about only things I think I can do instead of what I may be able to do with some effort and hard work. I need to believe in myself more and believe that I can do anything. Once I believe that…I will be able to dream big!

I think anyone can read this book and get something out of it. It a fast read and you'll even laugh out loud a couple times. Happy reading!

Swish….Shwoosh….

Posted on January 29, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

Chuck and I are leaving tonight to head to Colorado (Vail) to have long weekend of skiing. We will ski Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A couple of our friends are flying out Friday and skiing on Saturday and Sunday with us! The countdown has begun!

When we left Vail last year, Chuck came home with some new shiny skis all of his own. I was a bit jealous of this. Well, I got some of my own a couple weeks ago. We get REI gift cards for Christmas every year from Chuck's dad, so I got myself some skis and poles with it!

These are my fancy new skis. They are by K2 and called Sweet Luv. All of K2's women's skis have “Luv” in the name. These are really light which will be good for me to move around easily. I am so anxious to get on the slopes and try them out!

These are my poles by Rossignol. There's nothing all that fancy about them except that they are mine and I now have my own!

We're hoping we get to go out to Vail once more maybe in March. Now that we have our own skis, we would like to ski around town some more, too. So we'll see if that happens. Anyone interested in a weekend trip to Lutsen? 🙂

Have a great weekend! I'll hopefully have lots of pictures to share when I return!

How much is that kitty in the window?

Posted on January 27, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

Chuck called to me to come look at Sadie. She was on the window ledge in the entry way of the house. And no, she did not get up there herself…she had help from Chuck. 🙂

Sadie did get herself down from there VERY soon after I took these pictures. They are so dark because the only thing I could grab fast enough to take a picture was my phone. 🙂 Turns out, I kind of like the way the shadow effect turned out! 🙂

Long Overdue

Posted on January 23, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

This post is so ridiculously overdue. I keep meaning to write about it, but I never do. Back before Christmas, I went to my lovely friend Katie's house to work on my Christmas cards. (Yes, I am posting about something that happened before Christmas!) The reason I remembered to post this is because Chuck and I are going over to her house to have dinner with her and her wonderful family.

Chuck was out in Washington when I went to work on my cards. Now, most people wouldn't think this was all that exciting, but all of my card-making stuff is packed away and I needed to get my fix. My Christmas cards took way longer than I thought they would and I didn't get a chance to make any other cards. So people have been getting store-bought (*cringe*) cards from me recently. If you didn't get one of my cards and want to see what they look like, go HERE to see them.

I failed to bring my camera to take pictures at Katie's, but she took some. Now, keep in mind that I was there ALL day and spent the night and there is only ONE picture of me actually making said cards. 🙂

Her hubby and son were making cookies that day, too, so there are mostly pictures of them. But I wanted to share the pictures anyway. You can see them HERE.

That was all. I am sure we won't be taking pictures from tonight, but I am pretty much guaranteed a great time when we go to Katie's! Tonight she's making us fajitas! I can hardly wait!

Helmets

Posted on January 22, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

Last night we had a broomball practice. I was not really giving my all (or my anything) at the beginning of the game because I was upset I made a hole in my snow pants (skiing pants which I need next week). So I was pouting. Well, at the end I was messing around and being a good little defender and going after all my friends whom are notably larger than I. Mostly because they are guys. I was chasing one friend and he slipped and I was right behind him and went down, too. Thankfully, my butt broke part of my fall, but I still managed to hit my head pretty hard on the ice. I was fine. It just shook me up and surprised me.

Now, some of you know I got a helmet for broomball. Was I wearing it? No. I was thinking…it's just practice….no big deal. No one else wears it or falls on their heads in practice. Who needs it? I was wrong. So now I will be wearing it for practice, too. I am fine, but my pride is bruised and I have learned my lesson. 🙂
