I found these couple links…and I am sure there are a ton more out there…where you can pick a nail color and see what it looks like on a certain nail shape, nail length and skin tone. I thought they were a lot of fun. Of course, it's not perfect, but you can really tell what colors would probably look bad on certain skin colors. Have fun playing! I sure did!

Green & Brown Purse
This is the purse I mentioned yesterday. My brother's girlfriend picked out the green placemats and told me she liked cream and brown. So that's exactly what I did. She loved it. She had asked me for one for her birthday, so I knew she would love it! These colors are so pretty together and I am very happy with the way it turned out!
Green Pen
This was a pen I made for my brother’s girlfriend a while back. She picked out the color she wanted from a catalog and then was there when I made it so it was the thickness she wanted. It turned out so pretty in person. She is still in college and says she uses it all the time. Plus green is her favorite color, so everything I make her is green. I thought I had posted a picture of the purse I made her, but I guess not. I will post that one tomorrow. 🙂
I haven’t done many crafts lately. And I mean nothing…no cards, pens, sewing, nothing. It’s a little sad. I might try to make some time for that. Mostly because I have nothing to post on my other site. I think my readers over there might appreciate something new from me. But I am a working stiff now, and I jut don’t have the time. I think I was really filling a void in my life with crafts. And now I don’t even have the desire to spend money on crafts because I think I have more than enough! (Of course a few stamp sets here and there…that’s different!) And I want to spend my money on purses! So the huge runs to Michaels and JoAnn’s just don’t happen very much. I wonder what Christmas will be like. I make so many things at Christmas time, but now I don’t know that I will have the time or desire to do so. So if you get something made from me this year…you’ll be pretty special!
New Bed
Chuck recently found out he has allergies to a few things and one of those things are dust mites. So I thought this was a perfect opportunity to get a new bed! We have been talking about getting a king size bed one day (I am a bed hog) and since Chuck wanted to get some new allergy stuff for the bed, it made sense to put it on a new bed instead of an old one….at least I thought so!
On a side note, I am a huge enabler if you didn't already know that about me! A queen was plenty big, but I wanted a HUGE one! And when we were picking out our most recent tv I told Chuck the one he picked wasn't quite big enough and we needed the next size up! HEHE. I am so tricksy! Not really…I am just an enabler! I won't deny it!
We got another Sleep Number bed. We just loved our other one and there wasn't much question what we were going to get this time. Of course we needed to have a new head board with the new bed since it was bigger. So we picked out one we liked and brought home 3. Yes three! The first two were damaged so we brought them back. Finally number 3 was the winner. We got the whole bed together (which came in about 11 boxes with all the parts and the allergy stuff we got for it) and after we attached the head board to it, it wasn't very stable because the headboard was really heavy. So we ended up getting the rest of the bed. Here is a picture of it. And this is a queen size in this picture.
I wasn't big on foot boards when we were looking at them in the store, but now that I have it, I am really happy with the way it looks. It also looks nice with the dresser we already had and is much more cherry in person. It has a leather backrest on it and I got pretty striped sheets for it! I really like it. I will show a picture of the bed in our room once the new pillows come in. They haven't been shipped yet…we might be making a phone call to them tomorrow considering we bought the bed on the 4th! So stay tuned for that picture!
Yay Torie!
I am so very proud of my friend's sister Torie! She just graduated from boot camp this weekend and Katie and her family went to South Carolina to see her graduate. (This is a picture of her frm graduation.) She is off to Texas for more training. She wants to be a medic. I am so proud of her. I have gotten to know her a bit during the short time I have known Katie and her family and Torie has the biggest heart and is the sweetest, most caring person. I wish her all the best in this new adventure in her life and I thank her for doing this great honor to our country! HERE is Katie's post about the graduation. Congrats Torie! I'll leave you with a picture of Katie and Torie…Such gorgeous ladies!
Cabin Party
Yay! We're heading up to Alexandria this weekend for a cabin party with our friends. Chuck and his friends have gone up there for many years and it has been a summer tradition for them. Although some of the people have changed over the years, it's still the same old cabin party…hanging out with friends, playing in the lake, drinking, bon-fires and stories that go with them…it's just a great summer event! Have a great weekend!
Chuck’s Pen
This is the pen I made for Chuck. He took some time and picked out the style he wanted and I picked the wood. I had wanted to try a pen with this wood and I think it turned out wonderfully! This is a rollerball pen and the cap comes off and can sit on the top like you can see in the pictures. It was a little complicated to put it together, but it was worth it! The pen is heavier than I thought it would be. And it writes really smoothly. I was quite pleased with the turn out!
I Want This!
Or maybe “want” isn't a strong enough word. I actually *need* it! If anyone happens to be in the market to get me something…I have just the thing. If you want to buy it now for my birthday or something *wink*, I would be eternally grateful!
My friend just got it and it is SO very cute in person. I was thinking about it before I went to bed and therefore was dreaming about it! So if you were thinking of gifts for me because I am such a sweet person…hehehe. I have also added it to my wish list on the side –>. It's brand new at Target so it should be around a while, but who knows! 🙂
I will show you the picture of the pen I made for Chuck tomorrow.
*EDIT* If you do end up getting this for me…maybe I should be notified so I can quit asking people for it and take it off my wish list. 🙂 Or I could have multiples and then exchange them…so no big deal! hehe.
Buckeye Burl Key Ring
This one is made out of Buckeye Burl wood and I think it looks so cool. This is the same wood I made Chuck’s pen out of. (I was going to add a link to it here, but I can’t seem to find that I have posted it yet. So I may have to show you that one tomorrow.) I gave this key ring to my brother for his birthday. I thought it was nice for a guy. Enjoy!
Stripe Key Ring
This is one of my more recent turning projects. I haven’t don’t much turning lately and I really should get around to that. I even have some things all ready to make. I just need to get them on the machine. I gave this one to my step-mom for her birthday. She loved it. The colors are so pretty in it. This picture really doesn’t do it justice.
I have another one I’ll show you tomorrow. I have to keep you in suspense! 🙂
