Still Alive

Posted on November 1, 2007April 5, 2016 by Andi

This is a video and the song from the ending credits to a computer game Chuck got. This was one of the smaller games in the Half Life Orange Box game called Portal. It was a really fun game to watch. You make entry and exit portals to get through levels. At the end, this is what you see. It is hilarious! I hope you get a good laugh out of it!

Video & Song

Another if that one didn't load for you.

Lyrics

This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
Aperture Science
We do what we must
because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.
I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
And killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data make a beautiful line.
And we're out of beta.
We're releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are still alive.
Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.
Maybe Black Mesa
THAT WAS A JOKE.
HAHA. FAT CHANCE.
Anyway, this cake is great.
It's so delicious and moist.
Look at me still talking
when there's Science to do.
When I look out there, it makes me GLaD I'm not you.
I've experiments to run.
There is research to be done.
On the people who are still alive.
And believe me I am still alive.
I'm doing Science and I'm still alive.
I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive.
While you're dying I'll be still alive.
And when you're dead I will be still alive.
STILL ALIVE
STILL ALIVE

Stuffed Animals…?

Posted on November 1, 2007January 10, 2012 by Andi

One of these things is not like the other….I came into the bedroom and saw Sadie sitting on the bed. I barely noticed her. She looked just like the other stuffed animals on the bed. I just thought it was funny. Enjoy a laugh!

Ahh, Bayfield

Posted on October 30, 2007 by Andi

We got to go to Bayfield a couple times this summer and it was so nice. The first time we went up was Labor Day weekend with Paige, Brian and our friends Kelly and Andy. We did some sightseeing and had a bunch of great food!

HERE is the gallery with pictures from this weekend.

A few weeks later, we went up with a bunch of our friends: Lauren and Steve Kavan, Steph and Ryan Fabick and Ben and Trisha Fisher. It was so fun to have a bunch of our friends up there. The guys did some fishing and we also did some shopping in Bayfield, had some great food and went on a nice little boat ride!

HERE are the couple of pictures I took from one of the apple orchards we went to. This was a barn that was purchased from the Sears & Roebuck Company catalog and you had to put it together yourself. It was in really great shape and was so pretty. I just love barns. But I am really a fan of the ones that are falling apart. There's just something so neat about them. If anyone has more pictures they took from this weekend, send them to me and I will add them to this gallery.

Best Husband Ever!

Posted on October 25, 2007January 10, 2012 by Andi

The last two days I have been a bit under the weather and Chuck has taken very good care of me. He picked up my favorite junk foods and a blizzard for lunch yesterday! It was so yummy! And he picked up these gorgeous flowers for me! He's so sweet and thoughtful! I just needed a second to brag! Thanks for always taking care of me, dear!

Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Posted on October 25, 2007January 10, 2012 by Andi

Apple Cinnamon Muffins

These are some muffins I made with an Apple Cinnamon Muffin Mix I got at an apple orchard when we were in Bayfield. They called for 4 cups of apples. I wasn't sure there was going to be an muffin in them. But they are really good. And the apple chunks are soft and add a lot of flavor to them. They are really tasty. I was so glad I was able to pull off this baking task! Now I want more of this mix! 🙂 Maybe I can get it online…I'll have to look into that!

Red Apple Sangria

Posted on October 18, 2007 by Andi

I haven't made this yet, but after the smashing results from the last one, I have to give this one a try! This one is also from Applebee's. Somehow I looked it over after I read the White Peach Sangria. Yum!

Red Apple Sangria

3oz Cabernet Sauvignon
1oz Sour Mix
1oz Apple Juice
1oz Pineapple Juice
1oz Cranberry Juice (optional or as substitute for apple juice)

Add lime wedges, orange slices, apple balls – the more fruit the better it tastes.

Updated Wish List

Posted on October 13, 2007 by Andi

Since I realized my birthday was approaching quickly, I figured I should update my wish list a bit. The link on the right side of this page will always be there. So just because this isn't at the top you can always find my list to the right. I have not updated Chuck's list as of yet, but I will get around to that soon.

HERE is a link to my current wish list and I will add things as I think of them. 🙂

White Peach Sangria

Posted on October 7, 2007 by Andi

I saw this on the menu at Applebee's and wrote down what was in it. I came across a recipe for it online and I thought I would share. I made some the other night to try it out and it's *SO* very yummy! I'll be making some of this tomorrow for my Bag Daddy Party I am having! Enjoy!

White Peach Sangria
3 oz Sutter Home White Zin
1 1/4 oz Peach Schnapps
2 oz Pineapple juice
splash of Sierra Mist

Fruit to add: sweet red apple, orange slice, lime wedge

*Note* this was from someone's post that said it came from an Applebee's bartender. I know what I'm getting the next time I go there.

Crazy Animals

Posted on October 5, 2007January 10, 2012 by Andi

I wanted to share some pictures with you from around the house. There have been some pretty funny creatures around recently!

Squirrel

This first picture makes you think “Awe, isn't he cute!”

Squirrel 2

Then there's this picture….these little buggers lost the top to my feeder, (I have yet to find it) and are just a little crazy. I was impressed I caught him doing this. Apparently the chair full of squirrel food wasn't enough for them. They also ate through some plastic containers from Home Depot, so I had to replace them with some metal ones.

Birdy

This little guy was sitting on the railing of the deck one day when we went out there. The little guy must have flown away because he wasn't there later when I went outside. He must have needed a break from learning to fly!

Now this. Where do I start? Chuck and I were in the basement and I heard this scratching noise by the window. Needless to say, I was a little weary to open the blinds and see what was in the hole for the egress window. When I opened it, I thought it was a squirrel at first, but one of those could have gotten out. It was a rabbit. That wasn't real surprising either considering we see them around the house all the time. I think they either live under the deck, or used to.

Well, Chuck and I weren't sure how we were going to get it out. We ended up attaching a string to a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket. We put a slice of apple in there (We think he was down there for a couple days) and put it down the hole. I was holding the string and Chuck used a rake to poke him in the butt to run in there. We thought this was going to take a couple tries…Nope! First try. The rabbit runs in there after Chuck taps him, I pull the string and sure enough, I have captured a rabbit. So we put it on the ground to let him run out and he just didn't want to go. I am sure he was in there eating the apple….or just scared out of his ever loving bunny mind. we tapped the bucket and he went running. One stupid rabbit saved…Check!
