Only Me

Posted on October 26, 2006 by Andi

We went to a friend's birthday party this past weekend and some how I managed to either get a bee sting or a spider bite while we were at the bar…inside….in October. Now this could only happen to me. It's just something people wouldn't really be surprised to hear. But man, did it hurt. Paige made me carry around a glass of ice water with my finger in it. Just a strange little story I thought I would share. 🙂

Hooray for Sewing!

Posted on October 5, 2006January 10, 2012 by Andi

Yes, I am sure that is a strange thing to hear from me. I had a hand-me down sewing machine and I have been making some new things recently. So I got a new one the other day. This is the one I got.

singer

I am so very excited about it. I made this lovely creation with it shortly after I got it home!

stripe purse

Take note of the button hole and button! That is a wonderful feature that this machine has. I am so excited to try all the fun stitches it has. I am going to add buttons to some of the purses I have made in the past.

This is another creation I have recently done (not on the new sewing machine).

ribbon purse

I found a pattern for this ribbon purse in a magazine. When I made it, it was really small, so Chuck’s mom helped me make the pattern larger and this is what I created. I have seen simiar purses to this in stores made of seatbelt material. But they are expensive….Now I see why after making one. They take a long time with all the ribbons. It’s not extremely complicated, just time consuming.

I am hoping to sell purses on SimplyWhimsical.com in the near future. So this new machine will help immensely.

On a side note…After my grandma passed away, I kept some of her old jewelry. I have been using some of the beads from some of her things and creating new items. I have made a few pairs of earrings so far. I like that I am giving a new life to her things. And when I like wearing something that was hers.

Bayfield

Posted on September 27, 2006January 10, 2012 by Andi

I am a little behind in writing in here. A couple weekends ago we went to Bayfield to hang out on his dad's boat. Paige, her boyfriend, Brian and her friend, Paul came with.

HERE is the gallery of the pictures from the trip. We went to Sand Island and looked at the sea caves and took a mile walk to the lighthouse on the island. It was a lot of fun. The weather started getting bad, so we only made it to one lighthouse. We also went to Madeline Island one day and walked around. We had lots of fun there. And of course, we did lots of eating at great places with wonderful food. 🙂

The last day we were there, we were at the marina and this little guy showed up.

Yes, that is a porcupine. He was so cute. I never realized how funny they are. They are not very graceful, that's for sure.

We also stayed in a beautiful cabin right by the marina. We sat on the porch in the mornings and looked at the lake and had breakfast. What a great weekend!

Busy Weekend

Posted on September 5, 2006April 13, 2016 by Andi

We were busier than I had expected this weekend.

Thursday we went to the fair after taping a video for Chuck's business. It was a lot of fun.

Friday, Chuck went to the fair with Casey from ReconRobotics and was involved in a couple live news events with Channel 5. I went with and they did a really good job. It was fun to see what you do to be on tv. Chuck did a great job. 🙂

Saturday, I went to a friend's son's 1st birthday party. It was a good time and her son is so cute! That evening, Chuck and I went to get some paint and painted our master bathroom.

Master Bath

Here is one picture. The color is “Foggy Morn” but the pictures I took don't do this color justice. It's a light blue-gray and very pretty.

It's the same color I painted the laundry room Sunday. After cleaning the house, I went to work in the luandry room and Chuck went to a friend's house to install and new garage door and opener. Then we had dinner with my mom, Dave, Charlie, Adam and Katie (Adam's girlfriend) at St. Albans Boat House near us. It was really good. Then we went back to our place for Key Lime pie. 🙂 I love that stuff.

Monday I finished up the laundry room and then we went to Jon and Linda's for dinner with Paige and Brian. It was nice to see them. It felt like it had been a while.

Overall, we had a really good weekend. I hope everyone else had a good Holiday, too.

This & That

Posted on September 1, 2006 by Andi

We went to the fair yesterday. We were only there a short time because there isn't a whole lot I feel like I want to see. I just go for the food. That's the best part of the fair. But I am more than satisfied by going and staying for a couple hours and going home. I am full of fair food until next year. 🙂

I have been reading a book about starting a small business and learning a lot. There's a lot of information in those things.

I can't believe it's already September. The summer went by way too quickly. Before we know it there will be snow….and HOCKEY!
