Recipe Database

Posted on March 15, 2006 by Andi

A while ago I created a recipe database to add recipes to. I am part of a couple email recipe exchanges and I have been adding recipes that I receive from them as well as ones I have from family or other places. It's been a while since I have put new recipes on there and I have been starting to update it again. I have a few people that have access into it (you need a username and a password), but I am willing to give access to others if they are interested. (Email me and I can tell you what to do to get access.)

I have made a section on the recipes when they are added for comments. I am hoping people will try some of them and let me know what they think so I can add comments for others to read about them. I think anything would be helpful…recipe was hard, recipe was easy, too many steps, tasted terrible, tasted great, etc.

So let me know if you are interested in helping me better my recipe database. The worst that happens is you get some new ideas for meals and try something new. 🙂

Raspberry-Lemon Shortbread Tart

Posted on March 13, 2006 by Andi

This was a recipe I found in Rachael Ray's magazine. It looked really good in the picture. I wish I could have made it look as pretty in person as it looked in the picture. I followed the directions, (so I thought) but things didn't turn out as I had hoped. It said to mix the egg mixture until it was thick. When I looked it my mixer it looked thick, but apparently, it was too fluffy. I tried to put it in the pan and it would have overflowed if I put it all in there. I ended up only putting in about half of the egg mixture. I continued to make it and I was even asked to put it out. The ladies said they liked it. I haven't made many desserts and that might have been part of the problem. I will have to work on my dessert making. It was a good time making something new, but I will need a little more practice at this one. 🙂

Egg Dish

Posted on March 13, 2006 by Andi

I made this dish today for the Brunch I had at our house. It was really easy to make. I was pleased with the way it turned out. I got this from my aunt Patty. Everyone at the Brunch said it was really good. I changed the recipe slightly and added both ham and sausage to the dish. Let me know if you are interested in getting this recipe and I can get it to you.

I also don't have a name for it other than Egg Dish. If anyone has a good name for it, let me know. I'll rename it to something better when I think of one if I don't get naming help from anyone. 🙂

Brunch & Craft

Posted on March 13, 2006January 31, 2011 by Andi

Today I had some people over for a brunch and I decided to do some crafts while they were here. It was a lot of fun. I made lots of food that turned out pretty well. I made a Raspberry-Lemon Shortbread tart that I didn't think turned out real well, but people seemed to like it. I made an egg bake as well. I was told it was good. I don't care much for eggs, so I didn't have any. The rest of the stuff wasn't real exciting. 🙂 I had some candle holders for people to paint and card stuff for them to make. I had paper, beads, ribbon, etc and they went nuts. It was lots of fun. I got some new ideas from them as well. I took a few pictures of the crafting. I also took one of each of the gals with some of the cards they made. The pictures can be found HERE.

The only person that came that had seen our house before was my mom, so it was fun to have people see that. They all seemed to like the house and the colors I painted. My mom also got a really cool vase for me (because I love them) for our bedroom. It looks nice in there.

It was a busy day, but lots of fun. I think everyone had a good time and hopefully we didn't scare Chuck too badly. 🙂 I'll have to do it again sometime!

Painted Bedroom

Posted on March 12, 2006January 10, 2012 by Andi

I finished painting the bedroom last weekend and during the week I painted the end tables in the room. I painted it grey. The name of the color is “Anonymous”. I really like it.

Here is a picture of the room:

I think it turned out really well. I was a bit worried about the color at first, but I love it! Now I want to paint the master bathroom. It looks dull with the bedroom done. There is another picture of the bedroom HERE.

Laptop Wonderland

Posted on March 8, 2006 by Andi

Chuck got a new laptop today and I got his previous one. The current one I had was a bit too slow to use for work. We thought about getting me a new one, but getting him one made more sense. I love it. It's so nice…and fast. Chuck's new one does some cool stuff. I have been playing with my new one all night. I am sure I could have found better or more productive things to do, but this seemed more fun. 🙂 Back to more playing!

Go Gophers!

Posted on March 5, 2006 by Andi

A friend of ours had a couple extra tickets to the Gopher hockey game last night and we got to go. We were in the first row! There was lots of hitting on the glass in front of us. You could even see the expressions on the players faces! It was so much fun. I missed going to hockey games. Thanks for the tickets Tim…Think of us ANYTIME! 🙂

Meat Lovers Pizza Casserole

Posted on March 2, 2006 by Andi

In the last entry I wrote about meatloaf. With the new kitchen color, I have started to try making one new meal a week. So this is a place for me to let you know about them. Email me if you want any of the recipes to the meals I write about in here.

This was ok, but kind of dry. There wasn't a lot of sauce in it, for a casserole. I also, put in more pasta than the recipe called for….because I like pasta. That could have been part of the reason it was a little dry. If I hadn't added more pasta to the casserole, I think it would have been too meaty. My brother loved it, but he LOVES pizza. 🙂

With the casserole I made 'Gooey Garlic Mozzarella Bread.' It was pretty good. I end up picking out some of the cheese because I don't like to eat that much cheese in one bite, but Chuck and my brother liked it. You must have to be a cheese lover for this one. But I would make it again.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth-Meatloaf

Posted on March 2, 2006 by Andi

This was actually pretty good. It tasted like most other meatloaves I have had. The difference in this was the sauce (bbq-like) that you put on the top. I liked being able to put it in the slow cooker. It cooked for about 5 hours. It was pretty good, though. Might make it again sometime. If you are going to cook meatloaf for an hour already, you may as well stick it in the crock-pot for the afternoon.

Painted Rooms

Posted on March 2, 2006January 11, 2012 by Andi

As promised, here are pictures of the rooms I have painted in the house so far.

* Main Bathroom *

mainbath

I think this room is so cute. I love the light yellow with the red towels and rugs in here. It feels so open and bright.

* Dining Room *

These pictures don't give the green in here justice. The green really does match the stripe in the chair cushions quite well. There are other pictures in the gallery that show the color better, but I wanted a picture with the shelf we put up. It has cups and saucers of my grandma's that she collected. (I didn't even put them all up…they didn't all fit on the shelf.)

* Kitchen *

I love red. This rooms is so pretty. I never want to leave. The red makes it feel so comfortable and fun. I have been attempting my skills at more new meals lately….I think the red room is motivating. 🙂

I didn't put up all the pictures I took, but if you want to see them, you can find them HERE. I will be adding more to this gallery when I get more rooms painted. Which is hopefully this weekend. I have at least one room planned and we'll see how that goes. Anyone up for helping me paint????
