I never got a call back telling me my results from my glucose test. So I called and they told me everything was fine. I think they said my number was 96 and they want it under 130. So she said I was good. Phew!

I was told my hemoglobin level was a little low. Not so low that they recommend iron supplements, but it was something to note. So I need to eat more things with iron in them apparently. 🙂

baby gifts

Posted on October 27, 2010January 30, 2011 by Andi

We have received a few baby gifts from people. The very first gift were some baby socks. They are so tiny! I can still hardly believe that a little person will fit in those things!

The first toy she got was this adorable little elephant/blanket.

The first little outfit she got was this one! It's so very soft and I can't wait to snuggle her in it!

We are so thankful for all the gifts people have given us. We have also received a bunch of hand-me-down clothes from people. Everyone's excitement and generosity is has been so wonderful. I know this little girl is already so loved.

We had a birthday dinner for me with Paige and Linda. Linda brought the curtains she made from the material we had picked out the weekend before. She also brought lasagna for dinner. It was so tasty! Paige made some bread and we had DQ cake for dessert.

For my birthday, Paige and Linda bought the bedding we picked out of for the baby’s room! It was so fun to open it and see it in the bedroom! I’m so excited to get it all set up!

Now I just have to buy curtain rods for the curtains. Oh, and Chuck installed the blinds in the baby’s room! It’s all coming together!

polynesian chicken with island rice

Posted on October 26, 2010 by Andi

This meal is from Let's Dish. I am starting to think that maybe I am becoming quite the spokesperson for them with all the meals I post. 🙂

This meal was really simple to make. First you get the rice cooking. I think the bag of rice had butter, lime zest and onion in it.

While the rice is cooking, add the chicken to the grill. I used a grill pan.

While the chicken is cooking, I heated up the sauce a little bit. It WAS frozen and I didn't want to put cold sauce over my hot chicken.

Then I made a little frozen corn and served it up!

It was a really tasty meal. I was pleasantly surprised. I get a little worried when there are crazy sauces added to chicken. But we even had enough for one of us to take some leftovers to lunch. So I am glad I have a few of these meals left!

belly pictures

Posted on October 25, 2010January 30, 2011 by Andi

I have been taking pictures of my belly when I am getting ready for bed. I have made a little gallery of them if you are interested. There are a few mixed in there that are ones Chuck took. They are much better than the ones I have been taking from my phone. But this was a fast way I could take pictures frequently.

They are in order from oldest first to the most recent ones at the end.

I had a doctor's appointment last week and the doctor said everything was looking great. I have gained 12 pounds so far and she said I was right on track and to keep doing what I have been doing. The baby's heartbeat sounded great and this was my first appointment where she took out a tape measure and measured my belly!

I am also feeling her kick all the time. She's a maniac in there some days. But I don't mind. I love feeling her move around in there!

Well, there's a small update for you!

We read on one of our phone baby apps that if Chuck puts his ear on my belly he might be able to hear baby’s heartbeat. So we tried it. Chuck said he could hear my heartbeat, but not baby’s. A second later, she winds up and kicks him in the ear! He heard a big thump and felt her kick. Then he heard a few more thumps. I thought that was so cool that he could hear her kicking! That’s something he can do that I can’t! I was told the baby will love to hear that story when she gets older!

I just came across this in the store the other day and I love this stuff!

Why do all the good sodas need to be seasonal? (Mmm…Cranberry Sierra Mist – my all time favorite soda!)

Here's a link to 7Up's website with more information on this tasty drink! Get some while you can for the holidays!

Linda and I went shopping for some material so she can make some curtains for the baby’s room. Since we painted the room a green color, I wanted to do pink curtains. It’s going to be so cute! I can’t wait to see how they turn out!

baby's room

Posted on October 23, 2010January 11, 2012 by Andi

The baby's room is coming along nicely.

Last weekend, we picked out, purchased and set up the crib and dresser for the baby's room. I love them!!!

We will get the crib mattress next week. And we don't have the bedding yet, but I am hoping someone purchased it off our registry!

And I took these pictures right after we (meaning Chuck and our neighbor) moved the dresser into the room, so I'm sorry there's stuff on it. 🙂 I think they are just lovely and I couldn't be happier with them!

We also ordered some blinds for the downstairs office, the project room and the baby's room. Chuck installed the blinds in the office the other day, and one night after work we put up the blinds in the baby's room.

Chuck's mom is going to make us some curtains for the baby's room (this is where the pink will come in!) and we are going shopping for the fabric this weekend. I'll post the pictures when they are finished and hung up! I am so excited to get some pink into the room! Not that I don't love the green, but it will be fun to see it look more girly! 🙂

My mom also came over recently and brought more baby clothes for us. We are getting quite the collection already and all but a couple of these are hand-me-downs. We are so thankful for everyone's generosity!

And my mom brought over a bookshelf for the room. The piggy bank on the top belonged to my grandma. I always loved to play with it at my grandma's house and I think I am going to keep it in the baby's room.

My mom has one more shelf to give us, but couldn't fit it in her car with all the other stuff she brought us! I can't wait to get some books on those shelves!

It's so exciting to see the room coming together a little at a time! It's going to be so exciting when it's all ready for our little girl! But it will be even more exciting when she's home and sleeping in her very own room!

Chuck and I went to a gopher hockey game tonight. I hadn’t been to a gopher game in so long! I was glad we went when we did, because after putting on my sweatshirt, my jersey hardly fit! By the end of the game, I had to pull it up because it was too tight on my stomach! But I am glad baby girl got to go to her first gopher game! We did peek at the baby paraphernalia in the gift shops, but decided not to get anything for her. 🙂
