Today…I got nuthin'! Not a thing I can think of that might be worthy to write about today. So I am going to leave you with this instead.
….because I really want a peanut butter and jelly sammich! 🙂

Which translates to “lots of food and animals and rides, but mostly food!” Chuck asked what I wanted to eat when I was there….pronto pup, fries, corn on the cob, pronto pup, turkey jerkey, italian ice, cookies, pronto pup….yeah…I like to eat! I am so excited!
We are also going to a concert this year. I friend asked us if we wanted to go.
We're seeing O.A.R.. I haven't been to one of their concerts in a couple years. I am so excited! It was at one of their concerts that I found out about Toby Lightman. She opened for them and sang a song with them which was on one of their cds. She won't be there tonight, but it's going to be a fun night! They put on a great show!
Is it time yet??? 🙂
As if looking at that doesn't make you want one enough….the name just might. It's called Pom-A-Mango. I have a daily fight with myself over these bad boys! I want one EVERY DAY. This isn't even a smidgen of an exaggeration! I love all the flavors of smoothies at Caribou, but this has me craving it every day! My other love is the Wild Berry. YUM!
Thankfully, I am usually turned off by the cost of them. But if I have cash in my pocket…this is the first thing I will spend it on! 🙂
It also doesn't help that there is a Caribou right by our elevators. Jerks!
As it gets colder outside I don't usually want one as much since I am always cold anyway. But I have a new cure for that, too. (This has been taking the place of Caribou hot chocolate…which I also LOVE!)
And with only 15 calories per packet…..I could (but I don't) drink them all day and not feel guilty! So yay for finding a cheaper and less calorie filled Fall/Winter treat! They also have some that are not sugar free and run about 80 calories a packet. They are also tasty, but I feel more guilty about those! 🙂
I'm off to dream about smoothies now. 🙂
This commercial cracked me up! Hopefully it will make you smile, too!
Help help help….I would love to start drinking tea and I need some suggestions. I want a tea to drink hot since I don't want to drink so much hot chocolate this fall. What tea would you recommend to a non-tea drinker? I would like something light and fruity. I have tried some Crystal Light tea flavors and like them. I tried a green tea cranberry pomegranate flavor and thought it was awful! Maybe it needed to be sweetened? I have no idea! See why I need help? I also saw a white tea pomegranate blueberry flavor that has gotten rave reviews online. Anyone tried it?
If you sweeten your tea, do you use sugar? honey? I have no clue! 🙂
Any suggestions are so very welcomed!
I am quite behind getting a post about a fun night we had a couple weeks ago, but it will be worth the wait!
We had some friends over for an Iron Chef themed dinner. This was a friend's idea. I was not creative enough to come up with this on my own. Since we were hosting it, I got to pick the ingredient. And I had a terrible time thinking outside the box for this one. I couldn't think of anything that would work for a main course and dessert. Because if I pick steak…how well does that really go on a pastry? Or chocolate on chicken for a first course? Even after watching tons of Iron Chef shows, I was struggling to make it work in my head. So I went with something easy.
I picked STRAWBERRIES.
It was so much fun! One couple brought a strawberry cake for dessert which was so yummy!
We were going to make a strawberry salad since I couldn't find ANYTHING that had strawberries in it for a main dish. I was just going to grill and make something to go with the salad.
Well our other friends out did themselves! (Also the ones that picked having an Iron Chef theme.) They brought homemade crackers (graham crackers and some other delicious concoction). And he made them all from scratch and grows his own wheat for flour for them!
They also made homemade salsas. One was a spicy strawberry one and the other was a chunkier fruity salsa. Both very tasty with the crackers!
They had also planned to make a salad, so they kind of took over the kitchen and tossed in all sorts of fruits, their home grown lettuce to go with the spinach we had and homemade salad dressing…with strawberries in it, of course! It was so pretty. I HAD to take a picture! (Or two!)
They also brought homemade housewarming gift jams for us and our cake-bringing friends who also recently purchased a new house.
On top of all of this, I was also given my very own handmade hula hoop! It's so pretty and so much fun. We played with them in the yard. (They brought some of their own, too!)
These were also the friends we played this game with.
Clearly we had a great time getting together for this meal! I want to make this a monthly or every other month event with these friends and stick to the Iron Chef theme. It was so much fun and they are always an entertaining group!
I know my birthday isn't until November, but you can never start thinking about your birthday too early. I am usually thinking about the following year the day after shortly after Christmas!
A friend posted a website for places that give you Birthday Freebies! That's right! Free things on your birthday. They will email or mail you coupons near your birthday or for your birthday month.
Obviously, I have already signed up for the Dairy Queen one to get a free Blizzard AND, of course, the Noodles one! What I didn't know was that I was also going to get coupons for signing up! Buy-one-get-one-free coupons! Woo Hoo! Bonus!
I am sure you won't have a problem finding something you like on there, too! Happy eating!
….made from vegetables! *GASP* Did Andi just say “tasty” and “vegetables” in the same sentence? Why yes, yes I did!
The vending machine at my office has these new tasty snacks inside. They are made of vegetables and have a surprisingly small amount of calories in them. And you get a lot in the bag. You can visit their website if you want to learn more.
They have them in straw form:
And chip form:
I like the salt one the best, but they have Rosemary and something, too. They are quite tasty. I think they are made out of potato, tomato and spinach. So it shouldn't surprise me that I like these vegetables in their dried state since I LOVE Tri-color Rotini pasta!
At least I feel like I am getting some sort of vegetable intake when I have them. It's better than nothing! 🙂
Friday after work, Chuck and I went to get mulch to finish up our landscaping project. (I'll have pictures soon…I want it to be complete before I post pictures!) It looks great and I am always surprised at the difference mulch can make in completing the look.
Saturday morning we finished and then went to buy a tree. A Pink Spires Flowering Crabapple tree. It's so cute. We even got it planted before we left for a birthday dinner at Chuck's mom's house.
(On a side note, we thought we might have planted it to close to the house…we planted it where the landscaping plan told us to. So Sunday we moved it a couple feet further from the house. It was definitely the right decision!)
Saturday night we went to Chuck's mom's house to celebrate her birthday. Here's a picture of the birthday girl with her cake!
And here's a picture of her birthday cake we picked out from DQ. I thought it was so cute!
We even made it back home for fireworks that Rosemount was having for their Leprechaun Days celebration. AND we sat on the roof to watch them! We weren't sure we would be able to see them, but it was awesome!
Then on Sunday we planted the few things left around the tree and then spread the rest of the mulch we had (we still need to get some more). Then our friends came over to hang out and have dinner. They brought the most gorgeous collection of flowers! Some were from their garden and some were from the St. Paul Farmer's Market.
And, I made the fruit salad I am now in love with (I mentioned it HERE) and remembered to take a picture this time! 🙂
And then to finish off the great weekend, we went swimming in the pool in the neighborhood after our friends left. It was a great weekend! I hope you had a wonderful weekend, too!
