Grace In Small Things

Posted on August 4, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

Grace In Small Things is a website I came across the other day and wanted to give it a try. The premise is you list 5 positive things every day for 365 days. From their website:

——-

What?
“Grace in Small Things” is a daily reminder to take notice of the positive things we tend to overlook.

Why?
“Grace in Small Things” exists because we are choosing not to allow the noisiness of life to rob us of the time and energy to be mindful of ourselves and those we love and to recognize the grace that exists in small things.

Who?
“Grace in Small Things” is for YOU, because you deserve it.

When?
Grace in Small Things is a challenge for every day, because there's no time like the present, tomorrow never comes, and some other cliche about seizing the day. Oh, right: carpe diem.

——-

I have been working on trying to be more positive, so I think this will really help. It will force me to find positive things every day and eventually, I hope that I have to hold back and ONLY put down 5!

I am making this accessible to others, but they will not post daily on my site, just this post. If you are interested in reading about them, click on the “Grace In Small Things” link on the right side of my site. I will be posting them there.

Please wish me luck! I encourage anyone to give it a try. I know I don't want to turn into a cranky old lady and without looking at life more positively, I am well on my way! So here begins my journey into optimism, positive thinking and utter happiness! Yay!

This had been on my list for a long time and I kep This had been on my list for a long time and I kept pushing it back because I wasnโ€™t in the mood. It was a relatively short listen (which I listened to on a recent car/day trip. I wasnโ€™t sure if it was going to translate well, but it was really good. The premise is you can travel to another time, but you must return โ€œbefore the coffee gets coldโ€. It had some wonderful โ€œrulesโ€ that had to be followed and made you think about when in time you might travel back to.

This book has others in the series and it is definitely worth a read or listen if youโ€™ve ever thought about time travel and what you might do differently.

If youโ€™ve been around a while, you probably know If youโ€™ve been around a while, you probably know I like STEM books. Iโ€™m also a sucker for robots. I got this one for my space-loving daughter because she loves Mars. This was based on rovers that went to mars. I loved that it was geared toward kids, but had facts and stuff mixed in. I loved that they gave the rover (Res) feelings and a personality. The main programmer of Res was a female as well. It was a wonderful book and so well done. Iโ€™m excited to recommend this to people or give it as a gift!
