making room for baby

Posted on September 16, 2010January 30, 2011 by Andi

Last night we moved a bunch of stuff out of my office. This is the room that will belong to Baby Hays in a few short months. I only took two pictures of my office since we moved in last May and those were taken before I hung pictures on the walls.

This weekend we are having a few relatives spend the night so we thought it would be nice to free up the room (since we needed to do it eventually anyway) so we could set up an air mattress in there for a couple of them.

Here's what it looks like now:

So that is the room mostly emptied. We still need to move the big book shelf and there's still stuff in the closets, but it's a big move. We are going to move Chuck's office downstairs to the study…a room we are currently just housing things that don't really have anywhere else to go. That room is the first room when you come in the front door.

We took all the stuff from my office and put it in Chuck's current office until we make room for his stuff in the new location. It's a little cramped, but it will work for now. ๐Ÿ™‚

So there you have it. The first step in making room for baby. I am sure there will be lots more to come and I'll try to post pictures of all the changes!

As most of you (my 3 readers) know, Chuck and I are expecting our first baby in February. We couldn't be more excited! It's going to be a huge change to our lives…one we are so thankful for!

Here is an ultrasound picture from 12 weeks 2 days. I love how much it looks like a person now instead of a blob! There's one picture we have where it looks like Baby Hays is trying to suck their thumb!

Life has had some ups and a lot of downs for us in the past year and a half. Finding out about this baby was some much needed good news for us!

We are so blessed to have so many great friends and loving family members that are so excited for us. This baby is going to be so loved. It makes me so happy to know this!

I have added a “Baby Hays” section to the right. I have some “journal” type things I have written to have on hand that I will keep over there.

I am also adding a “Baby Stuff” category, too. This is going to have some products I like and gifts I get along the way from people. I think it will be a good way to keep track of some of these things.

We can find out if we're having a boy or a girl on September 22nd…two weeks from yesterday! At which point I will promptly go and start a registry! Because it's killing me to not add things now.

As you also may have noticed, I added a “ticker” to the top of the page so you can see how far along I am. I think it's fun to see it on other people's pages. And since this is my page…well, I can do what I want! ๐Ÿ™‚

I was playing around with a making a website through thebump.com. You can check that out HERE. There are some pictures of my growing belly in there. I am sure I will also post that information here, but for now, I have it there! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am quickly approaching the half way point of this pregnancy and I can't believe how quickly time is flying. I know there is a ton that needs to be done before February, but right now I am mostly taking naps and relaxing! ๐Ÿ™‚

Until the next update!

It was a relatively short listen (which I listened to on a recent car/day trip. I wasnโ€™t sure if it was going to translate well, but it was really good. The premise is you can travel to another time, but you must return โ€œbefore the coffee gets coldโ€. It had some wonderful โ€œrulesโ€ that had to be followed and made you think about when in time you might travel back to.

This book has others in the series and it is definitely worth a read or listen if youโ€™ve ever thought about time travel and what you might do differently.

If youโ€™ve been around a while, you probably know If youโ€™ve been around a while, you probably know I like STEM books. Iโ€™m also a sucker for robots. I got this one for my space-loving daughter because she loves Mars. This was based on rovers that went to mars. I loved that it was geared toward kids, but had facts and stuff mixed in. I loved that they gave the rover (Res) feelings and a personality. The main programmer of Res was a female as well. It was a wonderful book and so well done. Iโ€™m excited to recommend this to people or give it as a gift!
