It’s been a long time since I have posted on here. I think I am saying this a lot these days. Maddie has been keeping me busy. She is rolling all over the place and I think she’s getting close to getting a tooth, so nap time has been thrown way off and she’s just been a bit cranky.

Some days I wonder why I don’t get more done. But then I remember I am rescuing Maddie when she gets stuck on her playmat, a chair, under the coffee table or her pack-n-play (seriously, I turn around and she’s on her way to getting stuck somewhere else. Most of the time she can figure it out, but sometimes she needs a little help. Between the rescuing, I’m changing diapers, feeding her, trying to get her to nap and then repeating it all! I love every minute of it. But before I know it, POOF! My day is gone and Chuck is walking in the door. Then it’s time for dinner and getting Maddie day for bed.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Thus why I have oodles of pictures to post, many things to blog about, a lost a mile long of other random things I want to get done and I haven’t been keeping my handful of readers up to date!

Chuck has been spending all his free time building our screened porch and deck. I have lots of pictures and there will be a whole post about it eventually. It’s coming along great and it looks awesome! We have some family coming tonight to help for a bit!

On Saturday, Maddie will be 5 months old. So I’ll be taking pictures and getting a 5 month post done soon. (I have to keep up with those…I have family that bugs me about them if they aren’t on time!)

So there you have it. I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth. I am still here…and will return soon! But really, why would I sit inside and blog during the summer when I can be outside at the pool or on walks with my neighbor friends?! That’s what winter is for!

The other day I got my hair cut. Here’s a quick little picture I took after I had it done.

It’s maybe an inch shorter than I would have gone, but if I got 8 inches off, I could donate my hair through Pantene. So I went for it! I love it so far. I need to play with getting it straight in the morning. But that will require that I dry my hair…and I never to that! A new do is always nice for the summer. Now I just need the warm weather to go with it!

Guess what I did?! I quit my job! That’s right. Last Tuesday, I finally made the decision to stay home. I had been thinking about it since I found out I was pregnant. My neighborhood is full of stay at home moms (SAHM) so we have a great neighborhood for me to do the same.

There was nothing really wrong with my job other than it wasn’t great fit for me. I also didn’t like the commute. It was almost an hour each way and anything I do after this job I would want closer to home. Or some place that didn’t have such expensive parking (parking downtown costs A LOT!) so I could have a car to leave for Maddie if I needed to.

This week would have been 3 years there for me. I went in yesterday to tie up some loose ends and clean out my desk. One of my friends had this on my desk.

I am sad to leave a few coworkers, but I know this was the right choice for me. Here’s to my new adventure with my new boss, Maddie!

I love puzzles. Always have. I just don't put them together nearly enough. I have so many of them sitting in my cabinet waiting to be put together. For Christmas, I got a new puzzle from Chuck's mom. When she came over for Christmas with Chuck's sister and sister's husband, we had a huge snowstorm and they ended up spending the night. So Chuck's mom, his sister and I started the new puzzle that I got.

I just finished it the other night and it was really pretty when it was done, so I wanted to share it with you.

I also got to work on a puzzle when we went to see Chuck's grandparents this year for Christmas. His grandma always has a puzzle going and I love working on puzzles and chatting with grandma.

I am glad I got to work on a couple puzzles. With only about 4 weeks left until my due date, there isn't going to be much time for puzzles.

Do you like puzzles? Have you done any recently? Do you like ones that are a certain number of pieces or puzzle shape? Or a favorite puzzle brand?

I went to Let's Dish this weekend with a friend/neighbor who is having a baby a couple weeks before me to stock up our freezers. So I am going to have lots more meals to share with you. AND there are lots of tasty looking meals in February, so I am hoping to get even more meals made then.

At least I am cooking meals and posting pictures of them! I have to have something else to share with you aside from the humdrum of my life. And you'll probably be begging for food posts after this baby arrives and all I talk about is her!

I wanted to write something witty or funny or with lots of pictures. But I'll admit, I have not had the motivation or the energy lately to do so. If you pay any attention to my countdown at the top, you'll see that I have 38 days to go until my due date. When I get home from work, all I want to do is sleep. I am so exhausted. Sitting up and typing or thinking about what to type has not been easy. Usually I open my laptop to get something done, and then I just sit and stare at the screen.

So, I am going to do what I can to get the posts written that I have on my list to do before the baby makes her arrival and I am even more exhausted and have even less time to just sit and type.

So stick with me. There will be more stuff to come (there are a couple baby showers in January and one more Christmas yet to celebrate…hopefully I'll remember to take pictures).

I thought I would share our Christmas card with you from this year.

I used to make cards for Christmas and send them out, but I have not had any time (or creative mojo) for that in a long time!

Last year we did a photo card as well. And after seeing hoe easy that was, I knew I wanted to do another one this year!

I'm happy with how they turned out. They were cheap and fast and get the point across!

Yesterday on the way to work, it was slow going. I take the bus downtown to work and getting downtown was fine. But once we got there, the traffic just stopped. All the snow we had this weekend was still around downtown. They had plowed the streets, but there wasn't anywhere for the buses to drop people off because all the snow was on the streets. So instead of three buses dropping people off at a time, only one could.

I was only delayed about 15 minutes this morning. Other people had a much worse time getting to work.

When I left, there was the same issue. Snow was everywhere. This is where we usually stand to wait for the bus:

There's a heat lamp in there that we couldn't use and it was filled with snow. This was, of course, the problem at all the bus stops and slowing things down like it had in the morning.

The buses were running really late. I got on a different bus than I had intended (because the one I was looking for was so late and we had somewhere to be). It was standing room only, but I was freezing and didn't care. I actually had a nice man give me his seat and even had a woman offer hers as well. It was so nice of them and I was happy to see that there are people that still do those things for pregnant women.

And we made it to our destination on time. All is good in the world.

One of my best friends, Katie, had her third baby early this morning. They named him Connor and he is so adorable! He was 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and 19.75 inches long. They originally thought he had red hair, but now it looks like he has light brown/blonde hair instead. He looks just like his older brother did when he was a baby.

I couldn't wait. I had to go see him!

Congratulations to the Christenson family on your newest arrival!

Chuck did such a wonderful job putting up tiles on our back splash in the kitchen. He's so handy and I am so thankful for him and all his hard work!

And Chuck added another little touch! He added lights to the top and bottom of the cabinets. It's SO lovely! I just love it! I have those lights on all the time because of the wonderful glow it gives off!

I loved our kitchen before the tiling and the new lighting, but now I love it and never want to leave! It's amazing what a little tile and a few lights can do to the whole feel of a kitchen!
