unwell

Posted on November 16, 2009 by Andi

Poor Chuck wasn't feeling well this weekend. He woke up Saturday with what was most likely food poisoning. I was happy to stay home and take care of him Saturday instead of going shopping, but he sent me on my way. (He still had Paige and Brian at home to help him out if he needed anything.) I ran to the store that morning before I went shopping and got him some 7up and when I got home, I saw that he had marked the bottle as his.

He put his name on the bottle along with a picture of a skull and bones. 🙂 I thought it was a clever and thoughtful way to keep everyone else away and keep them from getting sick (in case it wasn't food poisoning).

So, even when he is feeling sick and miserable, he is still looking out for others and finds ways to make me laugh! 🙂

birthday shopping spree

Posted on November 15, 2009 by Andi

For my birthday, Chuck got me the best present. My friends kept telling me what I great hubby I had! He gave me money to go on a shopping spree with some of my best friends. He coordinated it with them and set us loose. I had a few rules I had to follow. I had to buy things for myself. I had to spend all the money. I was not allowed to put something back that I really wanted just because it wasn't on clearance.

So yesterday, we went shopping! It was very successful.

We met at the Mall of America at 10am (when they opened) and went shopping. We hit a ton of stores. Now, Chuck picked these friends for a reason. Not just are they three of my favorite people, but also because of their fabulous shopping abilities. These girls know how to shop and I am pretty sure that between the 4 of us, we had a coupon for just about every store we went into. That was quite impressive! So even though I bought things that weren't on clearance or on sale, we had coupons to make up for that. I have learned how useful those coupons you get in the mail can be.

I spent all the money and was only $6 over. Not too shabby considering all the stuff I bought. All the girls were very proud!

So here is what I bought.

After shopping, we went back to my friend's house, set out all the clothes for the above picture and then they wanted me to try it all on! I don't think I tried on EVERYTHING, but it was pretty close. A couple of the pictures are just showing a different necklace. 🙂 I have uploaded all the pictures into this gallery if you want to see them. We took them all with my phone so they aren't the best pictures.

The last picture in there is a blue dress I loved, but couldn't bring myself to pay $250 (on sale) for it. But I wanted to try it on anyway. So the picture was as close as I will get to owning it. Which is fine, since I would maybe wear the dress once.

We had a wonderful time and this was a fabulous gift! My friends have decided we need to do it again soon! I might just need this gift for EVERY birthday! 🙂

slackin'

Posted on November 11, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

I have been slackin' on writing on here. I have had other things to do this week and certainly didn't have time with all the birthday celebrations to write over the weekend.

I am still waiting on some pictures from our party from my brother, and when I get those, I will post some pictures. We had a great time!

On a side note, I meant to show some pictures of the flowers I have had looming around my house for weeks! Chuck picked up some of the most beautiful flowers a couple weeks ago for me. The roses were blooming and were such a pretty color.

Then the lilies started to bloom. Gorgeous!

They stayed like this until just recently.

Then the flowers I got for my Annibirthary I decided to take home with me and not leave at work over the weekend. They were sucking up water like crazy and I was afraid they would be very sad come Monday morning. They bloomed like mad and just in time for the party on Saturday!

I always forget how much I like tulips until the spring and they look so adorable. Then I have every intention of planting some and I never do. So now it's Fall, and I will probably forget, yet again, to plant some!

And I realized how pretty an iris is!

Oh Happy Day!

Posted on November 6, 2009 by Andi

Today is my birthday AND my 5 year Anniversary! I really am married to the best guy! I hit the jackpot with him!

He's my best friend! He always makes me laugh and smile! He believes in me when I don't. He knows me better than I know myself. He's my rock! He has the biggest heart and is the most thoughtful person. He's always surprising me. He puts up with my moments of crazy. He's eternally optimistic. I love his zest for life and how he can find the good in everything and everyone. He's smart and clever and keeps me on my toes. And best of all..he's all mine! Thank you for the best 5 years ever, Chuck!

He gave me a wonderful birthday gift. I get a shopping spree with some of my best friends who will help me buy things I never would buy myself. He also sent me flowers at work today.

They came as buds so they are going to last forever. I can't wait to take pictures of them as they start blooming. I need to post the other flowers he brought home last week…just because. 🙂

My coworker brought me to lunch yesterday and gave me a present, one of my bosses made me a cake and the other brought me a bag of Butterfingers with a bow on it.

…they really know how to bribe me into working on my birthday!

Tonight, Chuck and I are going out to dinner (place still to be determined). Tomorrow, we are having way more people than we expected a bunch of friends/family over for an Annibirthary Warming party. We'll celebrate my birthday, our Anniversary and our house warming. It will be tons of fun. Then we have a birthday dinner Sunday and more events next weekend! I love when birthdays last for a long time!

I am so blessed to have so many great friends and a huge wonderful family to spend these special events with!

Windows 7 Party

Posted on November 4, 2009January 10, 2012 by Andi

Chuck decided to host a Windows 7 release party. We invited all our geeky friends. 🙂 Microsoft sent a package to those hosting the parties. So we got all sorts of goodies and decorations. Here are some pictures from the event.

This is a puzzle they sent us. It was a picture of one of the built in backgrounds.

This is where we had all our laptops set up running Windows 7. And yes. All of those laptops belong to Chuck and I. (We actually have one more laptop with Windows 7 on it that isn't shown.) Note that there are two Toshiba laptops, a MacBook, and a Dell Mini on the table. They all run great with Windows 7.

Of course, I also had the Cake Balls with the Windows logo out for eating.

And this was just a funny picture. We had balloons all over the floor and I found this one hovering. I know it looks like the chair was holding it up, but it was just bouncing up and down above the heater in the floor.

We had a great time. And I think Chuck showed off some of the real cool features of Windows 7 and sold a couple people on it. After the party, we drank some more and played Rock Band. It was a good night. 🙂

Halloween

Posted on November 3, 2009 by Andi

On Friday, we carved pumpkins for Halloween.

I am indifferent to carving pumpkins, but everyone else enjoys it. I had the strangest pumpkin I have ever seen. It was similar to the Spaghetti Squash you can get. It was all stringy inside. I was happy, since this meant it was less slimy. Chuck said it was softer to carve, too. A friend suggested it might be a baking pumpkin because those tend to be softer. Who knew. This is what it looked like inside and what came out of it.

Paige and Brian made a pumpkin face saying “Boo” and Chuck and I (Chuck did all the carving) made Pac-Man and character.

Then, on Saturday, we went to a friends' house for a Halloween party. Chuck and I wore the same costumes we did last year. But this year they are much funnier. (Too much to explain if you don't know what I am talking about.)

Can you guess what Paige and Brian were?

Paige is “Follow the yellow brick road” and Brian is a “Chick magnet”! So clever!

I really wanted one of these costumes:

Maybe next year!

I also managed to fall asleep on our friends' chair with their dog, Luigi. I am too old to stay out until 12:30!

Hope you had a fun Halloween!

Chuck sent this to me this morning. It's too funny not to share!

This image is from The Daily What.

If you don't get it, let me know. I'll explain further. But I really hope you get it! Because I NEVER get any jokes…and even I got this one! 🙂

This Just Doesn't Seem Right….

Posted on October 27, 2009April 5, 2016 by Andi

I was shopping the other day at Macy's and decided to look at the glasses by Lolita. If you have never seen her glasses before, you need to check them out. They are so pretty!

Anyhow…as I was looking at the different names and pictures of them, I noticed something that didn't seem quite right.

Do you see the problem? There's a wedding glass next to a divorce glass. It just seemed wrong to me. So of course, that meant I had to snap a picture of it to share with all of you….my two readers! Enjoy…and check out the website to see all the cute designs she has!

I'm a Dork

Posted on October 22, 2009 by Andi

There's no need to comment and tell me that I am a dork and possibly have issues. I already know!

I love Star Trek. There. If you didn't already know that about me…now you do!

A friend sent me this cartoon this morning. And I am sure there is only one reader out there (Hi, Lauren!) that will understand this, but I don't care! It's my site, and I thought it was funny!

HAHAHAHA! Ok, that was only funny to Lauren and I, but still.

And because I can…here's one more.

Again….HAHAHAHA!

I should tell you, that for the mere purpose of making me laugh, I started following the most ridiculous Twitter account ever. Klingon Word A Day. Now I follow them not because I understand Klingon…because that is just silly. Or because I one day hope to learn Klingon. But just because it would make me laugh and smile when I saw them and picture Worf using those words. Or General Martok. Or possibly Jadzia. See….dork! 🙂

(Also I am a bit concerned that my computer's spell check knew the word “Klingon”. Maybe I am not as weird as I thought!)

By the way….you are quite welcome for giving you your dose of Star Trek for today!
