Division Champs

Posted on October 7, 2009 by Andi

Yay for the Twins! It was an exciting game last night. (So I was told since I was sitting in class during the game and getting text updates from my hubby!) They are now off to play the Yankees tonight for the start of the playoffs. Should be fun. Of course, I am in class again tonight, so I'll find out the score via updates. 🙂

After class, the bus I take home goes through downtown. Normally, this isn't a big deal. Last night it was because the game ended shortly before my class ended. So downtown was filled with brake lights. I snapped a picture from the bus.

We sat on the bus, stopped, for quite some time. Pedestrians were walking much faster than we were going. We got on the freeway the time I am usually getting in my car. It was a late night, but I'm still excited for the Twins. Plus I got lots of reading done for class! So it wasn't all bad! 🙂

He left the orange tulle on it and I love how it looks!

Do you think….

Posted on October 2, 2009January 31, 2011 by Andi

Do you think I could find some fabric like the picture below and get away with making curtains for my eating area in my kitchen with them?

I have this pattern on my background on my computer at work and my laptop. I love it. I love stripes. I love these colors. I just love it! I also have what one might call an obsession to stripes and all things striped. I just find them appealing and soothing. Strange, I know.

Anyhow…at some point, I want to get some curtains for the eating area in the kitchen. I am sure my neighbors love watching me do dishes. (Although, I am sure they don't even care I am there doing dishes…no one wants to know what their neighbors are doing! *cough*)

There are a few problems with this curtain idea:

  1. I do not have this fabric, nor have I seen anything exactly like it or I would have made purses, placemats, aprons and anything else I can think of to make out of it already.
  2. I am cheap and don't want to spend the amount of money it would cost for the amount of fabric I would need to make said curtains.
  3. I have a lot of red things in my kitchen from my previous house. (I painted the kitchen red there.) So I would have to replace the red things with green, blue or PINK. And as the previous issue states…I am cheap.
  4. Would my dear hubby actually tolerate PINK on the windows? The window is pretty big. There would be a lot of stripes…and a lot of pink ones. Yes, there is blue and green and white in there, too. But there are two shades of pink as well.
  5. If I did find the ideal fabric, I don't think I really WANT to make curtains. Buying them is so much better and I love the ones I got from Ikea for the living room!

Hmm. Those are a lot of cons. So maybe I should rethink this. If I do find something similar to this, I might just have to make curtains for my one lowly office window. 🙂 I could do that. And I don't have the red issue…there's already lots of pink, green, blue and white things in there. 🙂 It would be perfect.

And of course if I found the perfect material, I would get lots of extra to make purses, aprons, pot holders, pillows, and maybe even a tree skirt with it! Can't you just imagine how pretty each of these things would be with those stripes?! Because I sure can!

I think I will just be headed to the Ikea website to browse around and see if they have something stripy and fun (with red in it) for my kitchen instead.

Lighted tables

Posted on October 1, 2009December 4, 2011 by Andi

Last night at class I saw these tables in the Computer Science building.

They are so cool. They change colors.

It was a little challenging to capture a good picture of them because of how quickly they were changing.

There was a blue color, too. After I took these, they started changing faster and doing little table dances. 🙂

This then reminded me of a wall decoration Chuck made. Maybe all my CS schooling will teach me how to make my very own!

Wish List

Since my birthday is quickly approaching, I thought it would be a good thing to start updating my Wish List. So I am gradually adding things to the list. But it is updated…in case you were hankering to buy me something! 🙂

Unique decorations

Posted on September 30, 2009 by Andi

I was recently at a baby shower for my cousin's wife who is expecting their first baby any day now! There were a couple decorations made by my cousin's mom that I wanted to share. These are so cute and a little weird. She's so creative! I bet you didn't think of doing this!

These are dolls made out of bowling pins.

And this is a baby made out of a bowling ball.

Maybe these can give you some creative ideas for your next gathering!

Music to get you going

Posted on September 23, 2009 by Andi

I am sure everyone has some sort of music that gets them going. Most days I really like Toby Lightman or Colbie Caillat with some Sara Bareilles and OAR thrown in. Today, I needed something to get me motivated and keep me awake (because I am sleepy today). Today that was The Killers. It was just what I needed.

What music gets you going today?

Lots to say

Posted on September 21, 2009 by Andi

I have lots of things I want to write about. I have even been making a list of said things. The only problem is I want to include pictures, and I am having an issue getting them to upload. So as soon as I get that fixed, get ready for lots of posts! 🙂

I have also been extremely busy getting back into the swing of school and homework and allocating my time efficiently. 🙂 So I haven't dropped off the face of the interweb….I am still here. And I'll be back with a vengeance soon!
