My fortune cookie today said “Fear is just excitement in need of an attitude adjustment”! I love it!
Three years ago we planted this adorable little flowering crab apple tree at our house…the old house. This little bugger WOULD NOT flower. I think the first year we planted it I maybe saw two flowers, but now I can't remember. The following season…NOTHING. I was going to be so upset if that darn tree wasn't really a flowering crab. (Yes, I would have driven by next season to check on its flowering status.)
But thankfully, right before we moved out…and I mean two days….this tree finally flowered for me!
So pretty! Now I don't have to stalk the tree next year! You are probably wondering if I'll plant another at my new house and wait anxiously for years for it to flower. Of course, I will. Ok. Well, I don't know what trees we are going to pick yet, but if we pick a flowering crab, I will be out checking for buds every day! I am a little nuts! 🙂
Ok, well, I'm not as much of a trekkie as some of the people that were at the movie with us, but still! I love Star Trek! We went to the Imax (which isn't too far from our new house) last night and saw it. I had never been to the Imax before. That was quite the experience. Although, I think I prefer newer theathers because the guy's head in front of me was still in my way and I don't have that at the newer theathers with the stadium seating.
I didn't know much about the premise of the movie going into it. But it didn't matter. 🙂 I liked that it took place before the original Star Trek and when the characters were younger and at the beginning of their careers. This is one I will have to add to my collection one day! There are so many movies coming out that I want to see this summer!
I looked online today to check my application status and saw that I was accepted to the University of Minnesota! Yay! I know what I am doing tonight…having a celebration drink starting my Calculus class! 🙂
Literally. 🙂 We do a little more each night and there's a light at the end of the tunnel! Next Friday is going to sneak up on us. (Probably not sneak up on us since I am counting down the days!) Ok…More like be here before we know it! I'm just ready to be moved in!! Have I mentioned that I am not a very patient person!? 🙂
I am not entirely sure why I looked at my horoscope. I never do that. But I saw this blip about Scorpios. I found it interesting that there are many things that hit home to me on this. Eh…I take all these things with a grain of salt though. They aren't really my thing. 🙂

Though Scorpio's main symbol is the scorpion, it is also represented by the phoenix, a magical bird of transformation. The phoenix dies by way of spontaneous combustion and then is reborn from his own ashes. This theme of transformation runs strong throughout the lives of Scorpios. In one lifetime, a Scorpio will have many incarnations. And Scorpio is often unrecognizable from one identity to the next — the transformation is that complete. Scorpios have a lot of fun creating and recreating themselves. This sign possesses great magnetism and mystery, partly because they do not fear change and do not care an awful lot about what people think about them. The enigmatic charm of Scorpio has a potent effect on others and so it comes with responsibility. Scorpios must be mindful of their powers and difference they can make in the lives of others. Psychic ability is associated with Scorpio and often this sign will make decisions purely based on instinct. They can be very private and careful about whom they let into their inner circle. Scorpios know immediately whom they click with and are seldom dissuaded from their first impression of another person.

Chuck and I just got back from a much needed vacation. We went to Florida for a few days to relax and refresh ourselves. We went to the beach house where we got married. We hadn't been back since we got married in November 2004! We didn't have any plans going down there. The only planning we did was get tickets and a car. Other than that…no plans! It was great. We hung out with Chuck's aunt and uncle a couple days who own the beach house and then were on our own a couple days. I will have pictures at some point and tell you a bit more about it.
My guess is that I won't have them too quickly since we have a LOT going on. Since the house is sold and we close on May 15th, we have to find somewhere to live until we get our next house. Then we have to move out and house hunt. Along with that, I have to get going on my calculus work so I am all set for computer science classes in the fall. On top of all that, we are both still working. So we will do our best to keep in touch, but we apologize for our absence during this busy time. I would like to say life will slow down at some point, but does life ever really slow down? 🙂
Hope all is well with those of you that read this! 🙂
The inspection went great and there was nothing they wanted to negotiate. So we are good to go! Florida, packing and house-hunting are next on the list! Yay!
Our house is sold!
The inspection is scheduled for Tuesday and by Thursday everything will be good to go (which is cooincidentally the day we leave for Florida). They wanted a 30 day closing, so pending the inspection and everything going well, we need to be out May 15th! How exciting. I always knew it could happen that fast, but when you see the date (and realize all the plans you have in those few weeks) it comes as a little shock. But we have most of our stuff in storage already and we have lots of family and friends that will help if we need it!
I am really exited someone loved our house as much as we did when we first saw it! We plan to look at houses in Eagan. And since the closing is so close, we'll probably get an apartment downtown while we find the perfect house! But I have been doing lots of looking online at houses and I can't wait to start looking at them in person…and not just casually, but to actually LIVE IN! YAY!
It's extremely nice to have some good news mixed in with the crappy stuff that's been going on the past couple months.
I thought I would post the other pictures of our house that were on the listing. At least this way I'll have it saved somewhere to look at later. If you have questions about any of them, let me know!
I wish they would have taken a picture of the basement bathroom, but I am sure it would have been hard to get a good picture. I don't have very good pictures either, but I love how it turned out with the purple walls and green towels/rugs. I also don't have red soap in there anymore…it's green. That was what I had on hand at the time. 🙂
So that's what new here! 🙂
Chuck snapped these funny pictures of Sadie the other day. She was crawling into his gym bag and then turned around and looked at him. I thought they were really cute. 🙂
