House Update

Posted on August 26, 2008 by Andi

In case you are curious about how things are going with the house, so here's a little update. We just got our sign put in the yard yesterday. It looks strange…and big! Chuck was hoping I would have sold the house while he was gone. But I am sure I would have given it away for too little. Here is how I picture the negotiating going:

Me: Sure you can have our house. How much?
Them: Full price.
Me: Wait, I wanted to negotiate. Chuck wanted to negotiate. Dan, get them to negotiate.
Them: $1000, your furniture, you cat, your cars….
Me: Sold!

Ok. So it wouldn't really be like that. Dan wouldn't let that happen. But I am sure I would just settle for something less than I should have and Chuck would wonder what I was thinking. I would tell him, “At least it's sold!” 🙂

We did have two showings on Friday. Technically, it was 3 because one of the people came twice. Then we had another showing on Sunday and another one was just scheduled for today. We haven't heard anything yet, but my uncle/realtor was going to call the other agents today and see what they had to say about the place. I am still trying not to get my hopes up *too* high, but it's hard. I think our house is lovely, so I think others should, too! Why wouldn't they buy it?? Except for maybe the reasons we are moving…. 🙂 I will certainly keep giving updates as I find things out. Cross your fingers!

Girls Weekend

Posted on August 26, 2008January 10, 2012 by Andi

I had a great time this weekend with a bunch of friends. Most of us are married to guys who have been friends since high school, junior high or before! They had a guys weekend, so we decided we should have a little getaway, too! This is a picture from Saturday night when we were all dressed up and ready to rule Breezy Point!

(From left to right around the circle…..Amanda, Kjirsten, Stephanie, Me, Kelly, Hillary, Ginger, Katie, Trisha.)

This picture just cracks me up and I had to share. This is Kjirsten! She is gorgeous and so tall! She does have some heels on in this picture, but we thought it was hilarious! So I took off my heels and made the high difference even more drastic! I love her haircut on her…I wonder if I could pull it off?? Probably not! There's no way I could look as cute as she does with that do!

And while I was up there, I went to a couple great stores! The Fun Sisters and Lillians. They have a bunch of big name look a-like purses and they are really cheap. I was going to get something there, but all I could think about was the purse I wanted from Target. So I ended up getting that! And I was (and am) very happy about it! Here's a little picture of it for a refresher!

So Excited!!!

Posted on August 22, 2008January 30, 2011 by Andi

We have two people coming to look at our house today! I can hardly believe it! *TWO* showings today! I kept trying to figure out where the new pictures were that they took, and if you go to Edina Realty (or any site) and put in MLS#: 3587397 you'll see it. You have to click on “Virtual Tour” to see the other pictures, but it looks so nice! I am impressed! I would buy it! 🙂 I also put the pictures HERE. I just wanted to share. I'm headed out of town today and I'll post again on Sunday! Have a great weekend!

Silly Sadie

Posted on August 20, 2008January 11, 2012 by Andi

Why is it that cats always sleep in such strange places? I can't imagine that they are comfortable. But what do I know. 🙂 Here are some pictures of some of the places I have recently found Sadie sleeping.

On a suitcase. The suitcase was in Chuck's office, so that kind of explains it…since she always wants to be near him (who wouldn't!?).

In a box. Which was also in Chuck's office. Possibly right next to the suitcase. (Just a slight change of scenery.)

In front of the vent in my bathroom. And I think I should mention that this wasn't in the winter when heat comes out of it (which I would completely understand). This was in the middle of summer when the air conditioning would be on. And on top of that, I have a magnetic cover that goes over the vent in the summer because I hate the cold air blowing on my feet. So the only thing I can think of is she liked the rug.

And then the most logical…on the steps in the sun. I sometimes sit on the steps and pet her just so I can sit in the warm sun, too!

For Sale

Posted on August 19, 2008 by Andi

Our house is going on the market some time today. My uncle was impressed with all the work we had done. Dan had told us not to kill ourselves getting the house ready, but we nearly did. 🙂 A photographer will come out in the next day or so and get lots of pictures of the house. I think they'll do pictures for the virtual tour, too. When we get home, we have to move the boat out of the driveway and get rid of the trash we accumulated after our trip to the dump.

The house was all clean and sparkly…Thank you cleaning fairies! And I think that's about it. Now we just make sure our house is always in showing order. Here's to hoping it sells fast so we won't have to live in a showroom for *too* long. 🙂 I just hope the next owners love the house as much as we did. There are some things we know we want and don't want in the next house after this one, but it's been great for us. I'll keep you updated and post the MLS listing after there are some pictures there. 🙂

Molly Maids

Posted on August 18, 2008January 10, 2012 by Andi

The ladies at Molly Maids are going to be my heroes today! We decided to have a cleaning service come in and clean the house before we put it on the market. Thankfully (and amazingly) we got everything done in time and they will be in to clean today. I am so excited about it. I get to go to work all day and the cleaning fairies will be at my house while I am gone. Then when I get home…*POOF*….all sparkly clean! Anyone that knows me well knows how much I hate to clean. I am capable of doing it (and well when I have to), but I despise every minute of it. I don't even think, “the faster I do this, the faster I am done.” No. That would be the logical thought. I think, “Dangit! I have to do this all again next week!”

Now I have to share a couple pictures with you that cracked me up from their website. I couldn't help but laugh at how silly some of these pictures were. (And if they really are this happy about cleaning…I think that is kind of sick!) 🙂

I was laughing just adding them!

I am just glad there are people out there that you can pay to do this stuff for you! Because I am truly grateful!

So, yes we got everything done this weekend (9 total trips to storage since we started). I can hardly believe it. There are just a couple minor things left…taking garbage to the dump, mowing the lawn, and pulling out a ginormous weed that is taking over the area next to the shed. (I will take a picture of it and show you what I mean!) I'll try to take some pictures tonight of the house, too. Since we changed around a lot of things and took a lot out. I am pleased with how it turned out and I hope someone falls in love with the house as quickly as we did!

Hokey Pokey

Posted on August 15, 2008 by Andi

This was on Katie's website and I am not sure why I think it is so funny, but I laugh at it every time I read it.

Quote of the Day

What if the Hokey Pokey IS what it's all about???

—–

Packing is going well. We are up to 6 loads to storage. I am still hopeful we'll have it done by Monday, but we'll see. 🙂 I need to pack up my wood turning stuff, so I made a pen for a friend last night. I have been meaning to make it for her birthday (which was in June!) and I just haven't gotten around to it. So now my stuff can be packed. I might need to make a trip to Chuck's dad's house and use their wood turning stuff so I can get my fix! 🙂 I forgot how much I enjoyed making them!

We have most of the inside of the house cleared out. There are just some small things sitting around that will probably get thrown into a tote and we still have a bunch of monitors to move over to storage (they will probably be last and we'll fill up extra space with them). And then there's the garage…that will be the project tonight. And I don't even think that will be so bad. A large portion of the garage floor is covered in garbage or things to throw out (so we need to take a trip to a dump, too). So it really isn't too bad. I am sure there is more than I think there is to do, because that is how it always goes, but I can tell you that we are close! 🙂

On a bad note…I think all this moving things and packing and not sleeping is starting to make me sick. I have been coughing today and I am really tired and ache all over. The Aching might be from sore muscles, but I don't know how to explain the cough! But it's still worth it! I will be sure to take pictures when we are all done!

Moving Right Along….

Posted on August 13, 2008 by Andi

We have made 3 huge trips over to storage so far and have the bedrooms upstairs ready. We made a trip to get more totes for more packing and got most of the dining room packed last night. Chuck was going in late to work today, so he was doing more packing this morning. So we'll move more to storage tonight and probably do more packing! I think that will be a theme. But I can really see progress. We might be a little ambitious in thinking we can have it done as fast as we think, but I am still shooting for it! If not, I will slack knowing we have one more day or something. So I am not allowing myself to do that!

I did get my beading supplies out of storage, because, as luck would have it, I didn't have the necklace that was ordered made. So I'll be making it during my lunch break! 🙂 There's also someone at work that might want me to make some earrings for her to wear for her wedding, so I got stuff out for that, too.

Wouldn't You Know It….

Posted on August 12, 2008 by Andi

I got all my craft stuff packed last night. It's all at the storage unit. And this morning I was reading my emails and sure enough…I got an order for Simply Whimsical. Now you might think this is a good thing, but ALL MY STUFF IS PACKED! I think what was ordered I have, I just need to find it. And I am 99% sure I know right where it is even. But seriously…I have not had an order on that site in probably 6 months to a year and this is maybe the second person ever to order from me that I don't know. What timing! So I going to put a note on the site tonight when I get home that it is down or not taking orders now or something. Then I won't run into this again.

And don't get me wrong…I am happy about getting an order. The timing is just amusing and a little frustrating!

On another note, we took a couple huge trips over to the storage unit yesterday. We're hoping we can get the upstairs finished today. And I don't think that will be a problem. We can sleep later! We also had our Realtor come over and talk to us last night. My tentative goal in my head to list it is Monday. We'll see if that actually happens. And I am going to call a cleaning person today to go through the house and make it look nice to sell. Then we don't have to take the time to do all that. Phew! We'll get there! And I am still really excited about it!

Big Weekend

Posted on August 11, 2008 by Andi

This weekend we have officially decided to put our house on the market. We have not made any decisions on where we will move yet, but we want to get our house sold first. So we spent the weekend getting things ready outside and inside. Got rid of a bunch of things and started packing. Chuck is going to rent a storage place tonight so we can start packing it all away. We want to do this as soon as possible because we will be home this coming weekend, then the next couple weekends we will be gone. We are hopeful that we can get everything ready this week or by the end of next weekend. So we'll be working like crazy until then. Thankfully, there aren't any projects we have to do before moving. Just decluttering and packing it all away. My office is already taken apart. It's just filled with boxes and things to take to storage right now. We'll put a bed in one of the rooms upstairs and have one of them be an office and the other a bedroom.

I'll post more about this as it goes along and post some pictures after we get it listed. If you know of anyone that wants a nice house in Mound….point them our direction!
