The Norlings

Posted on October 4, 2012October 2, 2012 by Andi

Adam (my brother) and Katie’s wedding was wonderful! They had great weather, a fantastic turnout and everything went just the way they planned!

We started the day by getting my hair done…which quite frankly, I spent way too much money on for the atrocity that ended up on my head. Smile Thankfully I had a couple cute items for the girls to add to my hair later to make it look a little better.

Here I am with Crazy-Hair-Lady.

After the hair debacle, I went home to feed Maddie lunch and put her down for an early nap. She went right to sleep and I couldn’t believe it! Then Chuck and I got our fancy wedding clothes on and his sister (Paige) came over to wait for Maddie to get up to bring her to the wedding.

Chuck and I headed to pictures. I think they went well. Adam and Katie picked some photographers they know. Adam went to school with one of them. Erin and Andi were very nice!

The beautiful bride!

Then Maddie arrived, we got her in her dress and it was wedding time! Maddie even made it down the isle….with some coercing from Paige. But she walked down the isle with my other brother, Charlie. She didn’t wear her adorable sparkly shoes…but who cares! She went down the isle!

After the ceremony, there were more pictures. Adam and Katie didn’t want to see each other before she walked down the isle. So we did group pictures after the ceremony.

Maddie loved collecting leaves and other treasures in her flower girl basket.

After pictures, we headed to the reception. Maddie sat with Paige while Chuck and I sat at the head table. Maddie did great through dinner and dessert, but didn’t make it too much longer. It had been a long day, so Paige took her home where Chuck’s mom was there to put her to bed so Paige could go home to her husband and daughter.

Chuck and I stayed a little longer, but after I stuffed my face with the delicious dinner, I was stuffed and my dress was uncomfortably tight. Plus, I wasn’t feeling well with my cough and cold. So we headed home fairly early.

Oh…and this is what I looked like after Chuck and his mom got all the crap out of my hair.

The families and friends continued to dance the night away and I heard everyone had a wonderful time.

Adam and Katie then took a mini honeymoon to South Dakota for some sigh seeing and time away. They want to go on a cruise at some point, too. But they said they had a wonderful trip with lovely weather!

Here are the few other pictures that I have.

And when Adam went back to work, his coworkers had a little surprise for him. Smile How funny!

Congratulations to “The Norlings!” I am so happy for both of you and I am excited Katie is officially part of the family. I already referred to her as my sister and Maddie knows her as “Auntie Katie!” I love you both!

Sweethearts

Posted on September 22, 2012September 21, 2012 by Andi

Today is a big day! My little brother (well, older of my two little brothers…not the 14 year old) is getting MARRIED! I’m a bridesmaid. Chuck is a groomsman. Maddie is the flower girl. It’s going to be a day filled with fun, chaos, excitement, smiles and laughter (and some tears if you are our weeping aunts)!

I’m so happy for them. I know they have been stressed, but I keep telling them everything will be ok. And at the end of the day, they will be married and get to have a big party!

I’ll post pictures when I can. But right now, I need to make sure I have everything the three of us need for the day gathered.

One of my best friends and her husband recently had their second little girl. We went to visit them after she was born. She has such a proud big sister!

Maddie loved Kate. She loves dolls and babies, so I wasn’t surprised that she wanted to be in my pocket when I was holding the baby. I hope Maddie likes her sister as much!

I found this quote and thought that everyone out there has had a day that wasn’t great. But sometimes you need to look at the bright side.

On Thursday, April 26th at 2:07 pm, Chuck became an uncle, I became an aunt and Maddie became a cousin!

Chuck’s sister, Paige and her husband, Brian welcomed their little bundle of joy into the world! She weighed 5 pounds, 9 ounces and was 19 inches long. She is the most precious little thing. When we saw her on Thursday night, she was wide-eyed and curious about the world! She also as the cutest little dimples! She’s so tiny and I can’t wait to spend more time with them after things settle down and snuggle her to pieces!

Here are a couple pictures of Mira (their nick-name for her).

10 Years

Posted on April 17, 2012 by Andi

The other day, Chuck figured (after looking through emails) that we had known each other for 10 years. He got me the funniest card I have ever seen and a second card that was so very sweet! He also brought these beautiful flowers for me.

Then for a while now, he has told me he was working on a gift for me. I had no idea what he was up to and there is no way I would have guessed this. If you use Pinterest, you have probably seen something like this. But I haven’t seen anything like what he made me.

Before I show you, here’s a little back story. We had our first date at Lake Calhoun. Exactly two years later, Chuck recreated our first date and proposed to me at the end of our date…..on a dock on the lake……in the rain. It was raining off and on that evening. So on the way, Chuck picked up an umbrella and then proposed to me in the rain under the umbrella. Now you can see what he made me!

Awesome, right!?

He made sure to line up all the crayons perfectly and made sure the wax dripped in straight lines!

And this…..just wow. He made sure the crayons went around the umbrella. And this picture is just perfect!

I was in tears. It was so perfect and so sweet. Chuck gives the most thoughtful, wonderful gifts! The last 10 years have been the best! And I am so happy I have gotten to spend them with him. I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years will bring! Love you, Chuck!

MOMS Club

Posted on April 3, 2012April 5, 2016 by Andi

Today we had a play date at my house and had a little Easter party for MOMS Club. It was a lot of fun and I was happy we had such a good turn out. Everyone brought some food and eggs filled with candy and we had an egg hunt around the living room. It didn’t need to be too hard since the kids are all young. It was cute to watch them look for eggs, though.

It turns out that a bunch of the moms in my group are going to be leaving soon. They are either starting clubs closer to their homes or their kids are just getting too old and they don’t have the time to participate or they have older kids and have gone back to work. So all of our positions for the group are up for reelection in June. I have been asked by a few moms if I wanted to be the president for next year. And the other moms that came today agreed. It should be interesting. I am told it isn’t a huge time commitment, but I am still hoping I can come up with stuff to talk about at every meeting!

Also, what are some good ways to recruit more people? I have a bunch of stay-at-home-moms in my neighborhood, but don’t know the best way to get them involved in the club. If you have any suggestions (Katie, I’m looking at you here!), I am happy to hear some ideas or pointers!
