shells

Posted on December 3, 2010April 21, 2020 by Andi

I have been working on this necklace and earrings for MONTHS! Seriously! It’s not that it was hard to make or anything, I would just work on it a little, put it away, forget about it and then the cycle would start all over. So I finally remembered I wanted to finish it and I love it!

And here’s a picture slightly closer up.

So there you have it. Yet another set of jewelry. I have a few more to show you. I am trying to remember to post them on CraftsOnAWhim.com, too.

Anyone made any jewelry or other craft they are pleased with lately?

tiling

Posted on December 2, 2010 by Andi

Chuck did such a wonderful job putting up tiles on our back splash in the kitchen. He's so handy and I am so thankful for him and all his hard work!

HERE is the gallery with all the pictures we took while we were working on this project.

This is what it looks like finished.

And Chuck added another little touch! He added lights to the top and bottom of the cabinets. It's SO lovely! I just love it! I have those lights on all the time because of the wonderful glow it gives off!

I loved our kitchen before the tiling and the new lighting, but now I love it and never want to leave! It's amazing what a little tile and a few lights can do to the whole feel of a kitchen!

I went to the doctor today (I can’t believe I am on visits every two weeks now!) and they listened to the baby’s heart beat. When they were listening, the baby had hiccups! It was so stinking cute! HB HB HB hiccup, HB HB HB hiccup! 🙂

little tiny clothes

Posted on November 30, 2010January 30, 2011 by Andi

I had a couple of my best friends over one night to hang out and chit chat. They had some wine and helped me sort through all the clothes I got from Katie. I even sent some clothes home with Brooke for her little girl, Anne, who was born in July. I am glad someone else is getting some use out of all of these clothes!

Chuck took a picture of us!

I'm the very pregnant looking one on the right. Brooke (on the left) spent the night, and Hillary (in the middle) went home, but we all went shopping the next day at the Mall of America and had a great afternoon! It's been a long time since I've had a girl's night/day!

Thank heaven's for friends!

baby bedding

Posted on November 29, 2010January 10, 2012 by Andi

I wanted to post the various pieces of bedding we got for the baby's room. I know most of you don't care, but think of this post as something for me! 🙂

I posted a little about the baby's room recently. You can see the bedding a little bit in the room. And for a small update on the baby's room, I got a small table for the bedroom, and a container for underneath it to store things. I moved the bookshelf that was there into another room. I think it's looking great! The room is now probably about 95% done! Now I just need the baby to get here so I can snuggle her in the room!

Now, back to the bedding!

The bedding is from Target. And I think I mentioned that we picked out the bedding and then painted the room green without seeing the green in the bedding. Chuck did a great job picking out the perfect color!

This is what the bedding looks like on a crib. (Note, this is not our crib since these pictures were taken from Target's website.)

This is an up-close view of the pattern on the bedding. Part of the bedding has this pattern, and the bumper and dust ruffle have a stripe pattern.

This is the diaper holder.

This is the pillow that came with the bedding. I put this on the chair in the room.

These are the wall decorations that we hung over the crib.

This the really soft blanket that came with the bedding. I have this sitting on the back of the chair in the room. There was also a comforter that came with the bedding that is in the pattern material. This will be great one day when the crib can transition into a toddler bed. You can also see the stripe pattern on the edges of the blanket.

This is the mobile that goes with the bedding set. I love that the pieces that hang are the same little designs as the pattern in the blanket. We are still working on figuring out how this is going to attach to our crib. If When we get it attached to the crib, I'll post a picture.

So there you have it. Lots of bedding pieces and I couldn't be happier with how they look! I just love it!

sparks

Posted on November 28, 2010 by Andi

My dad's dog, Sparks, is the goofiest dog I have seen in a long time. He's about 60 pounds and thinks he's a lap dog. When we were at my dad's house for Thanksgiving, the dog decided he needed to sit on my brother and his girlfriend's laps.

See?! Goofy dog! He also rests on a chest by the front window to watch people outside. He wouldn't sit there long enough for me to get a picture, but I assure you, it's goofy!

Anyone else out there have goofy pets?

And my dad just sent me a couple pictures from Thanksgiving! We had a great time and ate lots!

cookies

Posted on November 27, 2010 by Andi

Let me start this by saying I am not a baker. I would love to be a baker, but I have a tendency to want cookies and baked goods more well-done than most people and I don't really like cookies, cake, frosting, or most other goodies that you bake.

Now that I am pregnant, though, bring on the cookies. Seriously….yum!

So I made some. These were sugar cookies out of a bag. (Come on, you didn't think I was going to start baking and do soemthing crazy like make them from scratch did you???)

Here's the whole decorated batch:

Here they are a little closer up:

They were really tasty. I made sure to give some to the neighbors so we wouldn't eat them all. I am definitely making these again! And I was so proud of myself for decorating them by filling a plastic baggie with the frosting and going nuts. They weren't perfect, but I was proud either way. 🙂

a special ring

Posted on November 26, 2010January 30, 2011 by Andi

For my birthday, Chuck got me a gorgeous ring. I was so surprised because we had said we weren't doing gifts. But this wonderful husband of mine, always surprises me with the best gifts!

He got it in pink because (1) I like pink, and (2) because we are having a baby girl. I thought it was so sweet and thoughtful. This is another gift I got this year that means so much to me!
