Dancing Maddie

Posted on April 18, 2012April 17, 2012 by Andi

First, I am sure there are a few of you out there who are saddened by my laziness and lack of posts about Maddie. Well, cheer up! Here are some videos!

So the other night, Maddie insisted on wearing a fleece jacket around the house. I thought I would just take her pants off so she wasn’t too warm. Then she decided to start dancing around the living room. She looks like she is River Dancing. And she just started dancing this way recently. We were laughing so hard at her!

A little while later, we took her clothes off down to her diaper. We never do this, but she was so funny. I got her to dance at the beginning and end of the video.

And here is just one other random video I took of her that night.

Shortly after these videos, Maddie brought her shirt over to Chuck and wanted it back on. Thankfully she is modest. Hopefully she will stay that way! Smile

A Communicating Toddler

Posted on April 4, 2012April 3, 2012 by Andi

Maddie has started to communicate with us a lot more. She knows a few animal noises, says a few words and even signs a couple words. I got a few videos of her doing some things on command! The only things I forgot were asking her to give me a hug and a kiss. Which is so stinking cute!

Here is Maddie making animal noises….a cow, a pig and a monkey. (We are currently working on sheep and Chuck is teaching Maddie to say “hi” when you ask her “what does a Maddie say?” Smile

And here is Maddie signing “all done” and “more” in her own little way. She’s trying to say “banana” but it comes out more like “balalalalalala!” And she says “up” when she wants to be picked up. She just started that one the other day. She says “up” a few times at the end of this video.

And she has started to sit down when I tell her to say “please.” I am not sure where she picked that up or why she started to sit down. But it’s very sweet. And there’s another “up” thrown in there, too! And after watching this video more closely, it looks like I am going to push her down by her head. Weird. Not sure why I was doing that. Smile I wasn’t actually going to push her down!

Toilet Paper Roll

Posted on March 30, 2012March 29, 2012 by Andi

Maddie likes to take the trash can out of the downstairs bathroom and carry it around and likes to play with the one thing that is in the trash can…a toilet paper roll. The other day she was playing with the toilet paper roll. It kept using it like a cast. It was really cute!

Fun With Noodles

Posted on March 29, 2012March 29, 2012 by Andi

During lunch yesterday, Maddie was having some of my rigatoni noodles. I would cut them into smaller rings for her to eat and she kept putting them on her finger to eat. It was really cute.

Maddie also learned her own version of signing “more” yesterday, too. So she would finish the noodles then “more, more more.” It was really cute! Maybe I can get her to learn some more signs. She does “all done” and “more” now. Smile

Another Zoo Trip

Posted on March 28, 2012March 27, 2012 by Andi

I took Maddie to the zoo another day (actually, I have been going about once a week with her) and I took a few more pictures of some animals that were very active during this visit.

There were some very friendly birds!

And some very playful swimming bears!

A pacing leopard. It must have been feeding time, because the wolves, Canada Lynx and pumas were all pacing this morning.

These Asian Dogs were chasing each other into the water and hiding behind fallen trees. They were quite amusing, but hard to capture on my phone camera. Smile

It was a cool day at the zoo, but only a handful of people were there this morning. It was a nice morning for a walk around, watching the animals! Smile

Visitors

My aunt, Mary Lou, was in town from South Carolina. My mom brought her over with her other sister, Patty, to hang out and see Maddie. Mary Lou hadn’t met Maddie yet. Here’s a picture of Lou with Maddie.

And here is a picture of Maddie with Lou, my mom, and Patty!

Isn’t it amazing how much my mom and her sisters look alike? There’s one more sister and two brothers and they all look so much alike.

Zoo

Posted on March 14, 2012March 13, 2012 by Andi

For Christmas, my mom and step-dad got us a membership to them MN Zoo. I had been waiting until the weather was a little nicer to activate it. Well, I got the urge to go to the zoo last Friday, so away we went!

Let’s go, Mom! (And Maddie is wearing another dress I made like this one.)

Maddie loved the monkeys. She was going “ah ah ah” in this picture!

Maddie pointed at everything!

A waterfall…..

The Tapir…..

The Mountain Lion….

She really made herself comfortable in the stroller!

I think she liked the bamboo the most! Smile

And HERE are the rest of the pictures from the zoo. I really didn’t take that many pictures. I’ll have to take more next time I go…which might be this week again. With all the nice weather we have been having, It will be nice to see more of the outdoor animals.

Balls!

Posted on March 9, 2012March 5, 2012 by Andi

Maddie loves to play with balls. “Bao” is one of the words you can really understand that she says. She has a box that has balls in it and she likes to go to the box and grab a ball and say “bao”. It’s so cute! I got a couple videos of her playing with her balls. She is so funny! I just laugh at her all day! Smile

A Rare Thing….

Posted on March 8, 2012March 5, 2012 by Andi

This is Maddie sitting still! That doesn’t happen very often! She was exhausted after some errands and playing with some friends. I thought the way she was sleeping was so cute. Smile

And yes, she is holding a container of wipes. It has been her favorite toy for days! Smile

And I even caught her a second time sleeping in the car. It’s been a bit of a transition moving to one nap a day. So I do what I can to wear her out! Smile
