Here’s What I Have to Say:

Here’s What I Have to Say:

Look at me grow…

Ok…that was a terrible pun. And I am sure you were expecting to see Maddie after that title. But really, I wanted to share how well my plants are growing! Pretty nice, huh?! They are quickly outgrowing their pots and I need to replant them soon. We’ve sent in the forms for approval of a garden and a patio, so they’ll be living outside soon! I’m having so much fun! I can’t wait until later this year when I have...

Just a little picture

Just a little picture of Maddie I thought I would share. I love her!

Laughing baby

The last few days I have been so close to getting Maddie to laugh. She makes little squeaks, but no laughs. Then today, she was full of giggles. Thankfully Chuck was working from home today and was able to hear her giggle and catch it on video! It’s hard not to watch this and laugh. She just makes me smile. And baby giggles are so darn contagious! 🙂

Zesty Chicken & Rice Skillet

Here is yet another meal from Kraft Foods. I have made this twice now. The first time I followed the recipe almost exactly. The only change I made was to use chicken broth instead of water and a bouillon cube. The second time I used brown rice (because that is what I had) and only green peppers (because that is what I had) and added onions per Chuck’s request. The brown rice took a little longer to soak up all...

I may have a greenish thumb after all!

I went to check on my plants yesterday and found a tiny little tomato plant had sprouted. Today I checked on them to find all these! These are all tomatoes. I also saw that an onion had sprouted. There are a couple more that I can see starting to peek up through the dirt! How very exciting!

New do and a good deed

The other day I got my hair cut. Here’s a quick little picture I took after I had it done. It’s maybe an inch shorter than I would have gone, but if I got 8 inches off, I could donate my hair through Pantene. So I went for it! I love it so far. I need to play with getting it straight in the morning. But that will require that I dry my hair…and I never to that! 🙂 A...

Gardening

I’ve decided to try my hand at gardening. Well, other than lilies and other plants that don’t need much care! 🙂 Ow that I am home, I wanted to try growing some fruits and vegetables. I went this weekend and picked out some seeds to start planting and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I got potatoes, a raspberry plant, onions, bell peppers (I forgot to get jalapeño peppers) tomatoes, spinach, cilantro, carrots….things that I actually eat. This way...

Maddie’s First Easter

Yesterday was Maddie’s first Easter. We went to my mom’s house for lunch and festivities. There was an egg hunt and egg decorating. And my mom went all out with the Easter baskets as she always does! 🙂 We had a good time and it was Maddie’s first visit to grandma and grandpa Terwilliger’s house. After being there quite a few hours, Maddie was ready to go home. She was overly tired and hadn’t been eating real well in a...

We’re In Trouble Now….

Look what Maddie learned to do yesterday! So yeah….She couldn’t hold her head up this much the day before. And now she’s rolling. Yesterday I put her on the floor and this is what she did! We were so proud! Now we just need her to start talking, walking and using the toilet!

Micro Twitter

Babies need Twitter accounts, right? Well, mine does. Chuck had started one for Maddie before she was born and I forgot it existed until recently. So I am going to try to post things to it.   I have added the Twitter feed to my right side bar under my Twitter feed. If you want to make a link of your own for somewhere, or follow her (“following” will only make sense if you know how to use Twitter), her...

2 Month Doctor Visit

Today was Maddie’s 2 month doctor’s appointment. She was 11 pounds, 6 ounces and about 24 inches long. She’s still a long little baby for her age! I don’t know where she gets the height from…it certainly isn’t from me! She also got 3 shots today for various vaccinations and little vaccine cocktail she had to drink. After her shots, she cried and cried. I got her calmed down and she went right to sleep. She took a nap at...

2 months

Our little Maddie is 2 months old! Maddie has been finding her hands a lot more and really likes to suck on her fists. Every once in a while, she manages to get her thumb and sucks on it for a couple minutes. It’s really cute. She will also grab your hand and has quite the grip! Maddie is generally a happy baby. People who meet her can’t believe how happy she is. She had a little too much excitement...

Fiesta Chicken Pasta

I have been making lots of meals from Kraft Foods lately. I made this the other night and it was really tasty. The things I did differently were to add 1/2 mild and 1/2 spicy salsa. It had a kick, but wasn’t overwhelmingly spicy. I also added a little more pasta and a little more dressing. We both went back for seconds and I would make this again. Also, I have started keeping track of our meals. I put them...

Dining Room

A few weeks ago, I gave my dining room furniture (which belonged to my grandma) to my brother. It just didn’t fit in our house very well. So over the weekend, Chuck and I went looking for replacement furniture. We found some we liked and I went to buy them yesterday. Here’s what they look like. This is the table. We also got two of these chairs that are shown with the table. Then we got two of these chairs....

Maddie Is 8 Weeks Old

My baby is 8 weeks old already! Time sure flies by. If you haven’t seen the newest news from me, is that I quit my job last week to stay home with Miss Madeline. I’m so excited for this new adventure! Maddie has her two month doctor’s appointment next week. She’ll get some shots. I’m going to try to be strong while my poor baby gets poked by needles. Since Maddie is such a good sleeper, I thought I should...

I Quit!

Guess what I did?! I quit my job! That’s right. Last Tuesday, I finally made the decision to stay home. I had been thinking about it since I found out I was pregnant. My neighborhood is full of stay at home moms (SAHM) so we have a great neighborhood for me to do the same. There was nothing really wrong with my job other than it wasn’t great fit for me. I also didn’t like the commute. It was almost...

Foil-Pack Chicken Fajita Dinner

Kraft Foods makes a bunch of foil dinners. I think they are brilliant and so simple. This one was really tasty. I made 4 foil packs and had two for leftovers. I ate mine just the way it was. Just dumped it on a plate. Chuck put his in tortilla shells. We both enjoyed the meal and I will make this meal again. Give a foil pack dinner a try. Really simple to make and extremely easy clean-up!

Quick-Fix Cheeseburger Meatloaf

This was another meal from Kraft Foods. It was really simple to make and very tasty. I did add a little worchestershire sauce to it. I think all beef meals need some! I made this with some mashed taters and we gobbled it up! I highly recommend giving it a try!

7 Weeks

Miss Maddie was 7 weeks old yesterday! She’s smiling more as you can see! And I am happy to say that I have officially quit my job to stay home with Maddie. She’s a wonderful boss! I am so excited for this new adventure and I am so blessed to be able to stay home. Life is good great!

No Fuss Tex-Mex Roll-Ups

After many weeks of sitting on the couch, eating out and zero exercise, it’s time to start eating better. I’ve always loved Kraft Foods website. But I have started to make more meals lately. They are quite simple without too many ingredients and I can usually get a meal done between feedings. This meal was pretty darn tasty. I modified it slightly and added a little extra cheese, a little water when cooking the peppers and corn. I also only...
