Alex’s Visitors

We are so lucky to have such great family and friends that have come to visit us! Here are some pictures from the hospital and at home. Posted with Blogsy ...

Alexander Charles

The newest little addition to our family arrived on November 17, 2014 at 10:30AM. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19 3/4″ long. I had another scheduled c-section and everything went as planned. I am recovering well (maybe too well since I sometimes overdo it) and the girls love him! We had a bunch of visitors at the hospital. It was so nice of everyone to take the time to come by to see us. I will have... Read More Read More ...

Annibirthary 2014

Last week, Chuck and I celebrated our 10th anniversary! And on the same day, I turned 34. It was a big day last week. We spent our day in a pretty unconventional way for an anniversarypacking/decluttering our house. (But we did take our early anniversary trip a couple months ago to NYC.) We did have a few visitors. My friend, Nicole, and her daughter came by in the morning to play. The girls love her daughter and they play really... Read More Read More ...

November MOPS Calendar

I know you have been waiting on the edge of your seats for the November calendar from MOPS. Well, wait no longer. Here it is. I didn’t know that November 1st was “Book Lover’s Day”. And since our niece was just adopted from China, it’s good to know that the 22nd is “National Adoption Day”! ...

NYC

Chuck and I went to NYC for an anniversary trip. We haven’t been on a big anniversary trip in years (if ever). Especially not since the girls were around. We debated a lot about where to go and had a long list of places/things we wanted to see. It was such a fun trip and so nice to get away for a little while. I was about 30 weeks pregnant at the time of our trip, so we weren’t sure... Read More Read More ...

Larger Than Life & Where There’s Smoke

A while back, a friend told me to download Larger Than Life when it was free on Amazon because she knew I liked Jodi Picoult. I recently finished reading it and found out it was a prequel to one of her new books, Leaving Time. Then I found out there was another short story about some backstory to “Leaving Time” called Where There’s Smoke and thought I should read that, too since it was free. Here’s a little about them:... Where the Mountain Meets the Moon

Where the Mountain Meets the Moon was the pick for my book club this month. We chose it because our city does a program called “OneBook, OneRosemount” where the pick a book for all ages and then have the author come speak. They only do this once every other year. Here is a bit about the book: In the valley of Fruitless mountain, a young girl named Minli lives in a ramshackle hut with her parents. In the evenings, her... Read More Read More ...

Our Dannie

Dannie is really the funniest little thing. She makes the goofiest faces, laughs at everything and is just so sweet and happy. I have been collecting some videos I have taken of her recently. Enjoy. Dannie eating Cheerios. She thought this was the best game ever. I have no idea where she got it, but chances are she learned it from watching her sister. She also likes to wear this owl bucket around on her head (something she also learned... Read More Read More ...

Wrestling

Not a day goes by that Chuck and the girls don’t wrestle on the big pillow Chuck’s mom made us. The girls like to run laps around the island and bombard Chuck. It’s hilarious! Dannie also really likes to get airplane rides. It’s pretty amusing, too. I just love how much they love their dad and how much fun they have wrestling with him. I hope Chuck doesn’t end up too injured from their rough housing, though.the girls are getting... Read More Read More ...

Sports

Most nights after dinner we go outside to play. We either head to the park, go on a walk or play in the driveway. One night Maddie wanted to play some sports. First she took out the t-ball set. She’s pretty good at hitting the ballwhen she makes contact! (I was sure I had posted the pictures of Maddie playing t-ball a while back, but I can’t seem to find the videos archived on here. So if you are interested,... Read More Read More ...

Crazy Baby

The other day I took a video of my stomach moving because little man has been going crazy in there. I’m actually looking forward to him getting a little bigger so he has less room to jam his appendages up under my ribs and poke me so low that I’m afraid he will fall out. It’s definitely creepy to watch sometimes. It’s like an alien is going to push right out of you. And I didn’t mean to take the... Read More Read More ...

4th Of July

Nothing like posting about the 4th of July on October 1stI promise I’ll be caught up soon.   In celebration of the 4th of July, Maddie wanted me to paint her nails. And she did a great job deciding how she wanted them painted. Mid-morning, we went over to my mom’s house for a little gathering. We did a little swimming, but it wasn’t as warm as I would have liked for that.   We tried taking a family photo,... Read More Read More ...

Minnehaha Falls

Since I’m doing some catch up to things we did earlier in the year, this was another fun outing we did this summer. I had been wanting to take the girls to Minnehaha Falls, but until this year, Maddie wasn’t old enough and Dannie is a bit easier to take places since she can walk. So we packed ourselves in the car and headed there on a gorgeous July morning! Are these two related or what?! I just love how... Read More Read More ...

Dannie’s Pigtails

Back in July, I finally gave Dannie pigtails. Why it took me that long (and why I haven’t done them very often since then) is beyond me. The pigtails themselves are not all that exciting. I mostly couldn’t decide which of her crazy faces to post in a different post, so this one got its own with all her goofiness. I should really do them again soon. She has a lot more hair than she did in July, and I... Read More Read More ...

Be You, Bravely

I decided to register for another year of MOPS. I debated because I am trying not to over-schedule myself or become overwhelmed by feeling I HAVE to do so many things. But since I quit MOMS Club, I took the plunge and joined. I am so glad that I did. I have a wonderful table at MOPS this year and I know the women are going to be great friends and assets to me as a mom. The theme this... Read More Read More ...

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)

This was our September book for book club. (We haven’t met to discuss the book yet. We meet on Monday.) First, I’ll give you the synopsis, then I’ll tell you my thoughts. Mindy Kaling has lived many lives: the obedient child of immigrant professionals, a timid chubster afraid of her own bike, a Ben Affleck–impersonating Off-Broadway performer and playwright, and, finally, a comedy writer and actress prone to starting fights with her friends and coworkers with the sentence “Can I... Chuck’s New Site

Last week, Chuck’s local Microsoft office closed and they laid off about 35 people there. While Chuck is job hunting and deciding what his next adventure will be, he started a new website. I added a link to the right side of my page, but you can check it out by going to MadeByChuck.com. Check it out! (And pass it along if you think someone/some company might be interested in hiring someone as amazing as Chuck!) ...

Sports Of All Sorts

Earlier in the summer, I signed Maddie up for a sports class. She went twice a week for a few weeks and got to play a variety of games/sports with a few of her friends. At the end of the session, they played a big round of soccer with the other teams and got a trophy. The first class she was a little unhappy to be there, but she did great by the time it was done. A couple weeks... Read More Read More ...

Bluefin Bay 2014

Over Labor Day weekend, we took our annual trip to Bluefin Bay with the Fishers. Our kids are the same age and are such good little friends. We love going up there with them and we have already booked the same places for next year! Trisha did a really long post with a bunch of pictures and you can find that HERE. Also, normally I would take a ton of pictures with my phone. But I have been really trying... Read More Read More ...
