Here’s What I Have to Say:

The Girls’ Friends

Yesterday my friend Trisha came over with her two kids. Our oldest is 3 weeks younger than her oldest and our baby is 6 days older than her baby. It’s been great having our kids at the same time as Trisha and her hubby. We have lots of play dates together and would have lots more if we didn’t live 45+ minutes from each other. But we try to get together once a month or so. Chelsea and Maddie are... Read More Read More ...

Merry Christmas!

I thought I would share our Christmas card with those of you I don’t know….granted, that may not apply to any of my readers, but I’m posting it anyway. 🙂 I know it isn’t a great picture, but I wasn’t able to save the image when I made it. I think it turned out really cute this year. And I loved that it could double as Dannie’s birth announcement! I wanted to quickly say that I am so blessed. We... Read More Read More ...

Maddie is Special

Maddie has started dressing up recently. She loves wearing our shoes, but she has begun using other items to wear. The last one is my favorite. She wore that to go meet our friends’ new baby in the hospital. She got lots of compliments from people. 🙂 Maddie also likes picking out her own clothes (sometimes when given options, other times all on her own), wearing our socks, baseball hats, a monkey towel she has for the pool, she attempts... Bachman’s

My mom invited us to see Santa put on a show at Bachman’s. Maddie thought it was fun to watch. Maddie actually sat pretty well for the play. After the show you could take pictures with Santa. We decided to skip that. It was close to lunch time and the line was LONG! So we walked around the store a bit. Maddie hammed it up for my mom to take some pictures. In that picture she was saying “cheeeeeese.” And... Read More Read More ...

1 Month Old

I’m not sure where the time went, but our little peanut, Dannie, is a month old! She has been such a wonderful addition to the family! Maddie just loves her little sister and is so sweet and nurturing with her. Dannie is a great eaterwhich is evident by her pudgy rolls and chubby cheeks! She is finally starting to go a little longer between some feeds. Unfortunately, most of these long bursts are during the day instead of during the... Read More Read More ...

Bubble Wrap

Maddie was cracking us up tonight while she was popping bubble wrap. Chuck was smart enough to grab the video camera. And she didn’t get hurt or anything. Which is what makes the video even funnier! ...

SNOW!

We finally got our first big snowfall of the season. I bet we got a foot of snow. It’s so pretty and fluffy. I am glad I don’t have to drive in it for a couple days, though. It’s nice to be able to just stay home.   Chuck took Maddie outside to play in the snow today. She did a little better than last year, but still wasn’t that excited about the snow. Here are a couple pictures he... Read More Read More ...

Grandma Is The Best

While we were at the hospital when Dannie was born, Chuck’s mom stayed with Maddie. She kept her on her schedule, brought her to visit us and did loads of activities with her! Here are some of the activities they did! Painting. Baking. Sprinkle eating. Tree decorating. And so much more! Linda is in Florida for the winter, so it was wonderful to get to spend time with her since we will miss her when she is gone. I love... Read More Read More ...

3 Weeks

Wow…Dannie is already 3 weeks old! Time sure flies. I’m healing well and feeling way better than I thought I would at this point. Chuck went back to work and I’m surviving at home with the girls. Dannie is a sweet baby and Maddie is getting used to saving her around. If you visit my site, you might have noticed that I changed a couple things: the tickers at the top of the site, some rearranged categories, and added Dannie’s... Read More Read More ...

Danielle Sophia

On Tuesday, November 13th at 9:29AM, we welcomed our second baby girl into the world! She was 7 pounds, 11 ounces and 20.5 inches long, with dark hair. Danielle (or Dannie) is so very sweet. She’s cuddly and goes with the flow so far. She doesn’t seem to be too bothered by the ruckus her big sister makes! And Maddie doesn’t appear to be bothered yet by the screaming her little sister does in the middle of the night! My... Read More Read More ...

One Thousand White Women

Our book club book for the month of October was One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd. All of us really enjoyed the book. Here’s a synopsis: One Thousand White Women is the story of May Dodd and a colorful assembly of pioneer women who, under the auspices of the U.S. government, travel to the western prairies in 1875 to intermarry among the Cheyenne Indians. The covert and controversial “Brides for Indians” program, launched by the administration of... Read More Read More ...

A New Hiding Spot

Maddie recently discovered that she can go under her slide. She likes to go under there with books, toys, dolls, blankets, snacks.just about anything. She was being pretty funny one day going in and out of the openings. UmHeadstands? Finding this slide on Craigslist might have been one of the best purchases I have made for her! ...

Lots To Celebrate

Today is my birthday. I’m 32. My body feels much older than that at the moment, though. My dear hubby gets to call me old for two months before he turns 32, too. And my dad is bringing me a birthday dinner. It’s a tradition my grandma used to do and now he graciously continues it! Today is my Anniversary. I have been married to my wonderfully amazing husband for 8 years. I can’t imagine my life without him and... Read More Read More ...

Halloween Night Recap

We had a lot of fun last night for Halloween. Chuck’s sister, brother-in-law and their daughter came over for dinner before trick-or-treating. Then my mom, stepdad and one of my brother’s came over to go trick-or-treating with us. We got Maddie in her costume (we went with Elmo) and we were off! Maddie did SO well this year. She would walk up to the doors and say trick-or-treat (tee tee), take a piece of candy, say thank you (nay nay),... Read More Read More ...

Happy Halloween!

Last weekend we had my mom, stepdad and brother over to help clean and carve pumpkins. Maddie had a fun, just like last year. First, here are a couple videos of Maddie helping to clean out her pumpkin. She was a little hesitant at first and really didn’t want to touch it, but she eventually got over it and had some more fun. She’s very particular about touching things and being messy. So the pumpkin cleaning went quite well. Then... Read More Read More ...

So I Don’t Forget

I have a few things saved up about Maddie that don’t really need a full post. So I thought I would just put them all in one little post. I didn’t want to forget about these little tidbits! * Maddie has started to say “grandpa,” but she says it “ba-ba.” She gets really excited when I tell her one of her grandpas are coming over. And when she sees a picture of one of them, she gets really excited, too!... Read More Read More ...

Dumb Mommy

Last night, Maddie decided she wanted something. So she came on the couch next to me and said “leh-low.” In Maddie speak, that is yellow or window. I kept trying to figure out what she wanted and she just kept repeating “LEH-LOW” with growing frustration in her voice. Finally, after a couple tries of me not getting it right, she got about 3 inches from my face and very slowly and deliberately said “LLLEEEHHH-LLLOOOOWWWW” and pointed at the refrigerator. I... Paper Cups

Chuck came home one day with a huge stack of paper cups for Maddie to play with. They had loads of fun building towers and knocking them down! I love how patient she was with Chuck waiting for him to build a tower before she knocked it down. Who knew paper cups could be so much fun! ...

Nursery Photos

I had Chuck’s sister come over yesterday to help me put the finishing touches on the nursery. We decided to use the same room that we used for Maddie’s nursery. So a while back we moved Maddie into a new room. And here’s a little recap of what the nursery looked like when it was Maddie’s room. So here is what Baby Girl #2’s room looks like now. I took pictures from each corner of the room. The only things... Read More Read More ...

Sticks & A Cup

I came across a few projects recently that I thought Maddie would like. I picked up some popsicle sticks from the craft store. I had intentions to cut a small hole just large enough for the sticks to fit into on a peanut jar or other canister. But then I realized that the opening on one of my mugs was the perfect fit. Maddie immediately started putting the sticks in the cup. And she didn’t stop for a long time!... Read More Read More ...
