Here’s What I Have to Say:

No Fuss Tex-Mex Roll-Ups

After many weeks of sitting on the couch, eating out and zero exercise, it’s time to start eating better. I’ve always loved Kraft Foods website. But I have started to make more meals lately. They are quite simple without too many ingredients and I can usually get a meal done between feedings. This meal was pretty darn tasty. I modified it slightly and added a little extra cheese, a little water when cooking the peppers and corn. I also only... Read More Read More ...

I Know You

This may not make any sense, but that’s ok. I sit and look at Maddie for so many hours during the day. Something about her is so familiar to me. Like I have known her little face forever. Maybe other moms or parents out there feel the same way. Or maybe I am just insane. It’s hard to explain really. Maybe it’s because I can’t imagine life without her. Maybe it’s from seeing her ultrasound picture. Or maybe it’s just... Read More Read More ...

It’s Hard To Wake Up

I have learned after watching the videos I have taken of Maddie that I am bad at taking videos. I’ll hopefully get better, though. 🙂 And I have to get over my dislike for hearing my voice on the recordings. I don’t think anyone likes hearing their own voice, though! 🙂 ...

Play Time

A video of Maddie playing. I’m so glad Chuck taught me how to upload and attach videos! ...

Where Does The Time Go?

Today marks 6 weeks since we welcomed our sweet little baby to our family. I can’t believe she is 6 weeks old already. And I can’t believe its been 6 weeks since all the craziness from my delivery happened. I had my postpartum doctor’s appointment today. It went great. My doctor was so happy I am doing so well after everything that happened. She said she really didn’t expect me to be doing so well or to have the outcome... Read More Read More ...

Grandma’s Furniture

When my grandma died a number of years ago, I took her dining room set. In our last house, the furniture fit great! Everything had a nice spot. But in this house, I could never get it to look right. So my brother took the set! I’m glad it’s still in the family. He sent me a couple pictures from his phone yesterday. It looks better in his house than it ever did in our current house. I’m excited to... Read More Read More ...

iPad

My fabulous hubby surprised me with a fabulous gift! He got me an iPad! He said it was sad to see me struggle with my laptop while I sit on the couch all day nursing. I was so surprised! Especially since I didn’t think we’d ever get Apple products again with Chuck working for Microsoft. But Microsoft doesn’t make a comparable product yet. So he got me this beauty! He didn’t get the pink cover (mine is grey) which is... Read More Read More ...

One Sleepy Baby

I just had to mention how excited I am that Maddie slept through the night last night! I know this may be a fluke, but any parent of a new baby knows how exciting it is to get many hours of sleep in a row at night. The past few nights (or maybe a week) I have been putting Maddie to bed around 10 or so and waking her up when I wake up at about 5 to eat. She... Read More Read More ...

5 Weeks

I can’t believe Maddie is 5 weeks old today! Time really does fly. I also can’t believe how quickly the days go. It’s already 2:00! How did that happen? I really thought that I would do a lot more blogging when I was home with the baby and I have definitely done WAY less. I think because the days just fly by. Chuck went back to work this week. He was home for 4 weeks and it was wonderful to... Read More Read More ...

One Month Old

Our baby is one month old already! I can hardly believe it. It’s been the best month ever. I can’t imagine my life without her! We learn more about what makes her happy every day! The other day we gave her a bottle for the first time. She did just fine. We waited until Maddie was almost a month to make sure she would still nurse just fine. And it hasn’t been a problem. We also gave her a pacifier... Read More Read More ...

Pretty Baby

I know I am biased, but man, my brother took some gorgeous pictures of our beautiful baby! Here are the few he has given me so far and he’ll get the rest to me soon. When he does, I will post the rest of them. Oh, I just want to snuggle her all day. Oh waitI already do that! I am so thankful that my brother likes to come and take pictures of her! ...

Visitors

We have had so many visitors come to see Maddie. Both in the hospital and at home. Here are some of the pictures of people that came to see us. At the hospital, we had friends and family come to see us. We had lots of visitors because I was there so long! Chuck’s mom.who also stayed with us for many hours at the hospital to keep Chuck company while I slept and stayed at our house for a couple... Read More Read More ...

Meds

I am on lots of meds these days after I had Maddie. The biggest one is for my blood pressure. They hope to wean me off that at my 6 week appointment at the end of March. I am hopeful the BP meds are just temporary.  Here are pictures of the pills I take.morning, afternoon and evening. I must say, it sure looks like a lot. But there’s lots of ibuprofen in there and vitamins/supplements, too. And I am very... Read More Read More ...

Flowers From Work

Both my work and Chuck’s work sent us flowers after we had Maddie. It was so sweet and thoughtful of them. Thank you to WCK and Microsoft for thinking of us! ...

Where To Begin….

It’s been a long week. Since I last posted, there has been so much that has happened. Some good, some bad. I’ll see what I can do to write it all down. Tuesday night, February 15th, at 41 weeks 2 days pregnant, I was admitted into the hospital for the beginning of an induction. My cervix was not dilated very far, so they gave me some drugs to help that. They usually give 3 doses of that. After 2 doses,... Read More Read More ...

2/15/11

Today’s the day we head to the hospital. I was up 12 times last night according to my FitBit. But somehow, I still got almost 9 hours of sleep. I’m a little tired today, but I know that adrenaline will kick in when I need it. It occurred to me this morning that when we leave tonight, we aren’t coming back to our house with a pregnant Andi. We’re going to come home with a baby. That is so crazy!... Read More Read More ...

41 Weeks….and counting

Today I am 41 weeks pregnant. Yes. You read that correctly. I am a week past my due date. There’s a plan, though, and an end in sight very soon. But still, 41 weeks. It’s a long time! The most irritating thing right now is that I have subscribed to a bunch of websites that email you and give you progress on the baby each week.how big she is, new tricks she can do, blah blah..things that were fun to... 2/14/11

Today I had my final doctor’s appointment before I have Thumper. It was both good and bad. Bad because my body still hasn’t made any more progress. Which means that they will send me to the hospital tomorrow night (when I am 41 weeks) and do some ripening. I guess this is supposed to help dilate me more. Then the doctor can get in there to break my water before inducing me. Apparently, some people that have the ripening done... Read More Read More ...

Happy Valentine’s Day

Chuck got me some of the most unusual and cool gifts ever this year! Keep in mind that I don’t want chocolate as a gift, I like flowers, but don’t want that much money spent on something that dies so quickly (and we’re hoping we won’t be around for a few days if this baby makes her arrival soon) and I just generally like gifts that are a little unique. So Chuck hit the jackpot this year! Check out what... Read More Read More ...
