Here’s What I Have to Say:

Crafts

I have needed something to keep me busy these days. I went shopping with Chuck’s mom the other day to a craft store and decided I wanted to learn to knit. So I picked up a cheap starter book, needles and some yarn. I haven’t been able to do a whole lot in one sitting because my hands are so swollen. But here’s a little progress I had after the first day I played with it! Not too shabby for... Read More Read More ...

My mom called and offered to take us to lunch. So we went to Southdale and walked around there for a while and then met my mom and Dave for lunch. We did some more walking and I had more contractions. But again, they just stopped. Paige called and invited us over to hang out. They were having people over for game night and said we were welcome to come. So instead of sitting on the couch just waiting, we... Read More Read More ...

A Few Random Things

At night, my hands would get really swollen. I wouldn’t be able to make a fist or anything. It didn’t look very good either. One day I remembered to take a picture. They are kind of scary! (Not quite as scary as my feet, though!) Next, A friend of mine brought some things to me at work last week. She really wanted me to have the baby. So she brought me Hot Tamales and some spicy chips. My favorite part... Read More Read More ...

Today is the day my family was sure I was going to have the baby. They were coming up with all sorts of ideas for why today would work. So far.it’s not looking good. But Chuck came home early from work and we decided to go to the Mall of America and walk around. I was having tons of contractions. They were much stronger than the ones I have had before. So this was promising. When we came home, they... Read More Read More ...

The Last Will of Moira Leahy

I recently finished this book. I use GoodReads and this book was one of the books they recommended one day. Then I got it for Christmas. This book was a bit different. I can’t really put my finger on what made it so different, but it was. And different is good. The story is about twin sisters. The story is mostly from the view of one sister after her twin dies and she tries to move on. But she really... Read More Read More ...

Chuck’s mom came back from Florida yesterday. She was hoping to have a little granddaughter here to visit, but no such luck. She took me out to lunch and then we went to JoAnn’s and picked out material for a quilt she’s making for Thumper. I think it’s going to be adorable! I love the fabric we picked out! I also decided that I wanted to learn to knit. I need something to do these next few days while I’m... Read More Read More ...

Jello Candy Corn

There are two things you should know about this post before you read it: I should have posted this back in October when I made these for Halloween. This is going to be long! I came across this recipe on a really cool website called Jelly Shot Test Kitchen. And I was really excited to find out that they are based in Minnesota! I knew I had to make these for an event with some friends and these were a... Read More Read More ...

Today Chuck stayed home from work and kept me company. I think he was hoping that if he stayed home, something exciting would happen. Sadly, nothing did happen. We watched a couple movies and just hung out. It was a wonderfully relaxing day and I am happy that Chuck has the flexibility to work from home so I can spend time with him! ...

Arc

Chuck surprised me with a new toy! A new Arc Touch mouse! It’s so cool! It was delivered the other day. I had no idea he was going to surprise me with this cool little gadget! Pretty cool, huh? When you flatten it, it turns off. When you bend it up, it’s ready to use! Man, I love being married to a Microsoft employee who gets me super cool things for a fraction of the retail price! ...

Today is my due date. Well today WAS my due date. It’s nice and late now and the chances of having the baby yet today are kind of slim. There’s still a chance, but it’s getting more and more unlikely as the days go on. Chuck and I decided that I shouldn’t go in to work this week since I had an appointment yesterday, today is my due date and the rest of the week would be after my due... Read More Read More ...

Hmmm…

See the countdown above? I find it amusing that it says I am “0 days pregnant.” (Granted, it does say “40 weeks AND 0 days pregnant”. That is beside the point.) I can assure you, even though today is my actual due date, I am still very much pregnant. It just struck me as funny when I read it. Which means, yes, we are still waiting on Thumper to make her arrival. Or for my body to speed things along.... Read More Read More ...

Thumper’s Room

..And a final project. I picked up some stick on mirrors for Thumper’s room. I wanted to put some sort of mirror by the changing table for her to look at. Then I came across these at Kohl’s. I just realized you can see me a little in the picture.   So I stuck these on the wall. They add a nice little touch by the changing table and aren’t too overly obnoxious for all the stuff I already have... Read More Read More ...

What did we do this weekend? I think Chuck had a couple boot hockey games and a broomball game. I didn’t end up going because it was cold outside. And I was feeling kind of crummy and tired. Sunday, we went out for brunch and then I helped Chuck clean up the garage. He’s been moving things around in there to lay it out better. It just wasn’t as efficient in there as it could be. Then we watched the... Read More Read More ...

Lasagna

Chuck’s mom makes the most wonderful lasagna ever! I have started to use her recipe as my own. And I make it for all sorts of events. I am planning to make some soon to freeze and keep for meals. One of the little things that will come in handy with a baby around. But there’s a chance Chuck’s mom will make some for us when she is here! What you’ll need: 12 oz or 1 lb box noodles 1... Meltdown

A few weeks back, Chuck and I were packing up our stuff for the hospital. Always good to have it ready to go. Well, I had a meltdown that night. I was in an utter panic. Here are some of the things that I either said or thought: “Oh my heavenswe’re actually going to have a baby!” “This thing moving in me is going to come out and we have to take care of it forever!” “It will never be... Wall Photos

My brother recently brought me the pictures he took. I posted them HERE.  I had one wall in the baby’s room that I knew I wanted to add something to. These pictures were the perfect addition. I had a bunch of silver frames around the house, so I put in some of the pictures Adam took. It was hard to get a good picture of them with so you could see all the pictures. But I am so happy with... Read More Read More ...

2/4/11

I decided to call in from work on Friday. I was really tired and just not up for making the trip in to work. I was really glad that I decided to go in yesterday to finish up some things. Now let’s hope this baby girl makes her arrival this weekend! ...

Cheesy Chipotle Chicken Enchiladas

I know I have been posting a lot of food posts lately, but I have a lot of them stored up! So you’re going to be getting food posts a lot. At least until I catch up or something more exciting than food happens for me to write about! This is obviously another Let’s Dish meal. I made this the other night for dinner. And I am sad that this was the last of these meals we had in the... Read More Read More ...

I wasn’t feeling great today and Chuck thought I should stay home from work and rest. Instead, I decided to go into work because I knew I might not be in next week. I wanted to see my coworker who is in only Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. I knew it would be the last day seeing her if I didn’t come into work. So I went. I was tired, but it was good to get out of the house and... Read More Read More ...

Peppermint Bark

Since I recently posted my recipe for S’mores Bark, I thought I would post my peppermint bark recipe, too. You start out the same as the other bark. What you’ll need: Bag of milk chocolate chips Bag of white chocolate chips Candy canes Tin foil Baking pan Rolling pin, meat mallet, hammer or something else for smashing the candy canes First, line a baking pan with tin foil. Then, put the milk chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. You’re... Read More Read More ...
