Here’s What I Have to Say:

the girl with the dragon tattoo

I figured I should read this book since everyone had been talking about it. I don't normally get into books that people talk about, but since it wasn't a preteen book that everyone loved, I figured I would give it a go. I found it at Target for $5.99. I like books for $6! It was really slow going at first; maybe for the first 100 pages or so. But thankfully, it picked up and got more interesting. By the... Read More Read More ...

kimono dresses

I bought a few of these dresses in a couple colors shortly after I found out I was pregnant. It was still warm outside and I knew I was going to get bigger. I am so glad I did. They are so comfortable and so versatile. I can make them casual or dressed up. I am sure I will even wear them into the winter with tights and boots! ...

making room for baby

Last night we moved a bunch of stuff out of my office. This is the room that will belong to Baby Hays in a few short months. I only took two pictures of my office since we moved in last May and those were taken before I hung pictures on the walls. This weekend we are having a few relatives spend the night so we thought it would be nice to free up the room (since we needed to do... Read More Read More ...

Since it was raining this morning and I was tired of standing on the bus, I decided to try out my new plan of getting up, showering, getting on the bus right by my house and going to the gym downtown before work for my walk. It worked out pretty well. I forgot how long of a walk it is to the gym from my office/bus stop, so I may have to walk to 25 minutes instead of 30 when... Read More Read More ...

andi's big adventure

One day last weekend I was so tired. I think it was Sunday. So after lunch I told Chuck I was going to nap for a few minutes and to wake me up in a little while. As soon as I fell asleep, my wonderful hubby takes some pictures of me! πŸ™‚ I especially love how my hair is covering my face. After he woke me up, I noticed I had left a nice pile of drool on the couch.... Read More Read More ...

general tso's spicy chicken

I tried this meal and I was pleasantly surprised. The meat was really good and the flavor was better than I expected. I will definitely try this again and other meals that they make. I have already spotted a few other meals that are similar to this that I would like to try! HERE is a link to the website for this meal. ...

I was in bed last night watching tv and the baby was kicking like crazy. I took Chuck’s hand to try to get him to feel it, but it’s still just kicks I can feel. I was really hoping that he would be able to feel them. I know he’s a patient person, but I will be so excited when he can feel the baby move, too! The last couple days the Eagan bus I take has been a small... Read More Read More ...

good grief

I picked this book up from the clearance rack at a bookstore. I'm not sure what made it stand out…maybe I liked the cover or something. Either way, I think it was only $4 or something. I was sure it was going to be horrible since it was on the clearance rack. I was wrong. This was a pretty good book. I was pleasantly surprised. The writing made me laugh many times and the main character was quite likable. It... Read More Read More ...

seattle

WAY back in January, Chuck went on a business trip out to Seattle. This time, I was lucky enough to get to go out there on the tail end of it and stay for a few short, but much needed days of vacation. I finally got around to sorting out all of the pictures I took. Unfortunately, I know there are a few that are missing. I have no idea where they might be. It's quite strange. If for some... Read More Read More ...

talent is overrated

This was a really interesting book. Chuck had read it and told me I should read it. I have always had fears about trying new things and thinking that I wasn't good at them. This book really emphasized that you can do anything…it just takes a long time and hard work to become excellent at it. There were many studies done on various types of people and in different careers. It took a look at how many hours a master... Read More Read More ...

weeknight lasagna toss

I found this recipe, or maybe it found me…I can't remember. But I was excited that the only thing I didn't have on hand for it was a green pepper. So when I went to the store I picked one up and I am SO glad that I did. This was a really simple meal. Think Hamburger Helper, but not out of a box. First you brown some hamburger. Then add in the peppers and garlic (I also added some... Read More Read More ...

a walk in the woods

This was a very interesting book. I hadn't read anything by Bill Bryson until this book. Bryson write about his travels. He has a very consistent writing style thrown in with some humor. There's also a lot of history mixed in….at least in this book. This was all about his journey on the Appalachian Trail. So there was a lot of history about the trail itself, the mountains, the animals, and hikers on the trail. It was kind of like... Read More Read More ...

I finally got around to working on my website and adding some baby things to it. I have been putting it off for so long. But once I start working on it, I remember how much fun it is! ...

Two weeks from today we find out if this baby is a boy or a girl! I am so excited to find out! I hope the baby is cooperative for the ultrasound! A coworker found out she is having a boy today! She really wanted a girl, but her husband is beyond ecstatic to be having a boy! πŸ™‚ ...

We headed to Bluefin Bay (near Lutsen) this weekend with a couple friends. On the drive up, I felt a kick on my right side, then one in the middle, the one toward the left side. There was no mistaking that those were kicks since it was moving around. There were a few seconds between each one. So very cool! ...

Tonight Chuck and I went to the Vikings game. It was the last preseason game, so it was pretty boring, but we had a good time! I think the baby was protesting being able to hear this week. Tuesday I went to the Lady Gaga concert, then Thursday, the Vikings game. During the game, I was sitting there and felt my first HUGE kick. There was no mistaking that one! I didn't feel anything the rest of the day, but... Read More Read More ...

We had our 16 week appointment today. We heard the heart beat (which was 160) and when she was looking for it, we heard a big “thump” and the doctor said “that was a kick”! I thought that was really cool! I hope I start feeling the baby move soon! I keep thinking I feel something, but since I don't really know what it feels like, I don't know if I am feeling digestion, hunger or the baby. But it... Read More Read More ...

I have been really good about going to walk. I went walking every morning last week before work and yesterday and today this week. On Saturday, I went on a walk around the neighborhood and Sunday I went shopping at Ikea and the MOA with Adam's gf Katie and got lots of walking in. I keep hoping I will feel the baby move soon. I know it's still probably too small and too early, but I am so excited for... Read More Read More ...

Got up and went on a walk this morning. It was a little more brisk today…less humid. I took a different path today and I will probably take it again tomorrow to see how far it actually was. I somehow turned off my gps thing at some point and didn't get a good idea of how long I was gone or how far I went. Oh well. πŸ™‚ It seemed like a pretty good path to try again. πŸ™‚ I... I have decided that I am going to set my alarm with enough time to go on a walk in the morning and weather permitting, I am going to go. It's a good way to get some exercise and fresh air in. It makes me feel good for the rest of the day, too. And that's never a bad thing. πŸ™‚ So this morning I went for a 1/2 hour walk which is about 1.6 miles…the route I have been...
