Today we had another ultrasound and found out we’re having a GIRL! When the u/s tech told us, I cried! I would have cried either way. I was so excited! I made sure to ask her how sure she was. She told us that she can’t tell anyone 100%, but would say with 95% certainty...

I made a pair of earrings for a friend at work. I show her all the stuff I make myself and since it was her birthday, I decided to make her a pair. She wanted blues, blacks, and silver. She also wears a lot of pearls, so I was pretty excited with the way these...

We went up north for my cousin Matt’s wedding. It was fun to see people, but both Chuck and I were really tired and only made it to 10:00…which was later than I thought we would be out. We had a nice time seeing so many family members and seeing how excited people are for...

Today the kids (ok, well just Alex) celebrated the Today the kids (ok, well just Alex) celebrated the 💯th day of school. This is a big deal in kindergarten and also a big deal in general. We have done 100 days of DL at our new school. These teachers have been amazing and our kids have done an great job. We are so proud of them. Not everyday is easy, not everyday is fun, but an end is in sight.

We decided we are sending them back to school in April for the 4th quarter. Although I’ll probably cry to say goodbye to these teachers, I’m so excited for my kids to be IN their new school and make some new friends and feel like part of the Hilltop family.😁

This was a really quick book that I listened to re This was a really quick book that I listened to recently. It had been on my list for a while. I found this book to be comical right from the beginning because these three little black girls are being shipped across the country to live with a mother who left them. I realize this book took place in 1968 and things were very different then, but it just felt too unrealistic. Their mother is part of the Black Panthers and really doesn’t want anything to do with her girls. The girls spend the summer hanging out with Black Panther members and basically caring for themselves. By the end of their trip, they realize they did need this trip and it was a good experience.

The book ended somewhat abruptly and that is possibly because there are more books in the series. I think it was interesting to read about how different life was in the late 60s and I am impressed their trip went as well as it did. Then again, it’s just a book, so really, you can make anything happen in a book that you want. It doesn’t have to be believable. I would agree with the title, these girls had a very crazy summer.

True story of why I’m a nutcase. While sitting o True story of why I’m a nutcase. While sitting on the boat recently, watching the kids play and listening to the house be built, I panicked. Crap! We should have put our house the other way. Left side on the right, right side on the left. That tree will be in our way! WHAT HAVE WE DONE?!
.
So I immediately text Chuck who is working and tell him about how I am worried almost to tears about this. That we messed up.
.
It isn’t something we can do anything about even if we maybe should have done it the other way, which is probably nonsense. But we love this tree. And it’s going to add to our amazing view. And I want to plant another one on the other side one day anyway. And that big open spot will have a deck and porch behind the main floor garage. And what...I may have to turn my head slightly to see the lake better?🙄
.
Yep. I’m a nutcase. I don’t worry about the things right in front of me. Or even things I should worry about. Nope. Just things that can’t be changed...now that’s where my worry shines! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣🤪
