Here’s What I Have to Say:

this weekend

We had a nice weekend. I took Friday off (which is something I never do). I did a few things around the house since I am too tired when I get home from work to do anything. Then my brother and his girlfriend came over Friday night to hang out and play pool. We had a great time. Saturday, I got together with a friend and went shopping for things for a shower we are throwing next weekend. After all... Read More Read More ...

tiles

We finally got around to buying tiles for our backsplash. We have been talking about tiling the backsplash since we moved into our hose a year and a half ago. All I had to do was pick out tiles. Of course….I never did. So we went out and picked some that we liked. We haven't installed them yet, but this is what they look like: I think they are going to look so nice. They are travertine tiles with a... Read More Read More ...

three cheese tortellini with ham, peas, and cream sauce

Surprise, surprise….this is another Let's Dish meal. Here are the bags full of ingredients: First you get some water boiling for the pasta and some oil heating for the sauce. After the oil has heated up, add the ham, peas and onion mix to the oil and cook until the onions are softened. Next, add the pasta to the water and cook. After the ham mixture has cooked, you add the cream sauce to it. When the pasta is done... Read More Read More ...

I never got a call back telling me my results from my glucose test. So I called and they told me everything was fine. I think they said my number was 96 and they want it under 130. So she said I was good. Phew! I was told my hemoglobin level was a little low. Not so low that they recommend iron supplements, but it was something to note. So I need to eat more things with iron in them... Read More Read More ...

baby gifts

We have received a few baby gifts from people. The very first gift were some baby socks. They are so tiny! I can still hardly believe that a little person will fit in those things! The first toy she got was this adorable little elephant/blanket. The first little outfit she got was this one! It's so very soft and I can't wait to snuggle her in it! We are so thankful for all the gifts people have given us. We... Read More Read More ...

We had a birthday dinner for me with Paige and Linda. Linda brought the curtains she made from the material we had picked out the weekend before. She also brought lasagna for dinner. It was so tasty! Paige made some bread and we had DQ cake for dessert. For my birthday, Paige and Linda bought the bedding we picked out of for the baby’s room! It was so fun to open it and see it in the bedroom! I’m so... Read More Read More ...

polynesian chicken with island rice

This meal is from Let's Dish. I am starting to think that maybe I am becoming quite the spokesperson for them with all the meals I post. ๐Ÿ™‚ This meal was really simple to make. First you get the rice cooking. I think the bag of rice had butter, lime zest and onion in it. While the rice is cooking, add the chicken to the grill. I used a grill pan. While the chicken is cooking, I heated up the... Read More Read More ...

belly pictures

I have been taking pictures of my belly when I am getting ready for bed. I have made a little gallery of them if you are interested. There are a few mixed in there that are ones Chuck took. They are much better than the ones I have been taking from my phone. But this was a fast way I could take pictures frequently. They are in order from oldest first to the most recent ones at the end. I... Read More Read More ...

We read on one of our phone baby apps that if Chuck puts his ear on my belly he might be able to hear baby’s heartbeat. So we tried it. Chuck said he could hear my heartbeat, but not baby’s. A second later, she winds up and kicks him in the ear! He heard a big thump and felt her kick. Then he heard a few more thumps. I thought that was so cool that he could hear her kicking!... pomegranate 7up

I just came across this in the store the other day and I love this stuff! Why do all the good sodas need to be seasonal? (Mmm…Cranberry Sierra Mist – my all time favorite soda!) Here's a link to 7Up's website with more information on this tasty drink! Get some while you can for the holidays! ...

Linda and I went shopping for some material so she can make some curtains for the baby’s room. Since we painted the room a green color, I wanted to do pink curtains. It’s going to be so cute! I can’t wait to see how they turn out! ...

baby's room

The baby's room is coming along nicely. Last weekend, we picked out, purchased and set up the crib and dresser for the baby's room. I love them!!! We will get the crib mattress next week. And we don't have the bedding yet, but I am hoping someone purchased it off our registry! And I took these pictures right after we (meaning Chuck and our neighbor) moved the dresser into the room, so I'm sorry there's stuff on it. ๐Ÿ™‚ I... Read More Read More ...

Chuck and I went to a gopher hockey game tonight. I hadn’t been to a gopher game in so long! I was glad we went when we did, because after putting on my sweatshirt, my jersey hardly fit! By the end of the game, I had to pull it up because it was too tight on my stomach! But I am glad baby girl got to go to her first gopher game! We did peek at the baby paraphernalia in... what time is it?

Time for a new snazzy watch! That's what time it is! Someone posted this link recently and I fell in love! I added a pink one to my wish list right away! I have no idea what they are like in person and I don't even care. I just know that I want one! I think you should add one to your wish list, too! ...

pineapple-cherry dessert

I found this recipe from Kraft Foods. It was a huge hit and SO simple to make! 1. Dump in pineapples. 2. Dump in cherry pie filling. 3. Dump on box of cake mix. 4. Dollop with butter. 5. Bake. 6. Eat. Seriously! It was that easy. And it was so good. Here is it out of the oven. And on the plate. And with whipped cream. I will definitely make this again. Maybe even try some different fruits. I had my doctor’s appointment today and my glucose test. The drink we had wasn’t as bad as some people have said. You have to drink the whole thing within 5 minutes and then get your blood checked within an hour of drinking it. I drank it in just over a minute. The hardest part about it was how cold it was! I heard the heartbeat again at the appointment and Dr. Louie said I was right on track and... Read More Read More ...

the girl who played with fire

I just finished this book. This is the 2nd book in the trilogy. I read the first book and liked it. I borrowed this one from someone at work. I liked this one better than the first book. It was a bit more suspenseful and a faster read than the first one. The ending really made you want to read the 3rd book. The way it ended, could have been a chapter ending. There was a short excerpt for the... Read More Read More ...

bird seed wreath

Last year I came across instructions to make bird seed wreaths. So I made them for a few people as Christmas gifts. They were a big hit. First, you'll need water, bird seed and gelatin. Then make the gelatin as it instructs on the packaging. Next, spray a mold with cooking spray. Then add the bird seed into the gelatin and stir. Then put in in the mold and press down to pack it in tightly. Let it sit in... Read More Read More ...

green cupcakes

I made green cupcakes. I think I made them for St. Patrick's Day. Yeah, I know…that was MONTHS ago, but here are some pictures anyway (which aren't great since they are from my phone)! They were tasty. And green! I think I am going to do this again sometime. Maybe make all sorts of colors. I'll have to find a reason to make a billion cupcakes, though. Anyone need/want cupcakes? ...
