One.

One. One. ONE! My baby is ONE! Somehow, Dannie turning one is harder for me to handle than it was for Maddie turning one. Dannie is the happiest, silliest, most fun little addition to our family. I love her developing personality and her smile is so infectious!

IMG_5065

Dannie is becoming more independent every day. She is learning to hold her own with her sister and she is definitely very strong willed just like Maddie. She has taken to throwing mini tantrums when she gets upset and folds in half and cries on the floor. It’s so very endearing. Smile

i-Xfpj2SF-XL

Her favorite game it to put objects into a container. She will do this over and over and over and over…..

20131014_171623

This particular time, Maddie wanted to hold the cup for her while she put noodles in. I was happy that she didn’t try to eat nearly as many noodles as I expected her to. Smile

20131026_094021

Dannie recently learned where her belly is. She thinks this is the most amazing thing in the world and is so proud of herself when she sees it. Then she instantly sticks her finger in her belly button and laughs. Smile You can see a video HERE.

20131031_125504

Dannie is also very good at giving kisses. She makes the best kissing noise and will blow kisses. It cracks me up. And man is her kissing noise loud!

20131106_082541

And speaking of loud noises….this girl yells! Not just a little squawk, but a full blown, makes you jump out of your skin yell. She yells when she is happy. Yells when she is mad. Yells when she wants something. Yells when her sister takes something. And sometimes just yells for the fun of it.

i-JG7TbSR-XL

We are working on making her sign “more” or “drink” when she is eating so she doesn’t yell so much. It’s working a bit. But I really just think she likes to hear herself! And it is really pleasant when her and Maddie scream back and forth to each other.

i-tzBRzHm-XL

And speaking of mealtime, she is eating like a champion still. We have been giving her milk with meals for a little while now. Sometimes she really likes it and other times she looks at you like you are trying to poison her.

20131113_081655

Over the last week, I have been giving her less formula at bottle times. Then for a few days, cut back how many bottles she was getting. Last night was her last bottle and the very last of the formula I had. I made sure I snuggled the heck out of her. She only had about half her bottle. If only she knew that was the last one she was getting!

I was afraid she was going to be really mad at me this morning when I got her up and didn’t give her a bottle, but she was surprisingly agreeable. Phew!

20131112_190745

Dannie still loves her glow worm. I really think she likes to have music going when she is playing. She stops and turns it on, does a little wiggle and clap and goes back to playing. Then repeats this over and over!

20131113_081306

And I just love her one tiny, chubby finger when she presses the button!

i-hdWztBH-XL

Dannie is my little daredevil. I know the things she does aren’t that crazy, but with my timid Maddie as a gauge, anything Dannie does is riskier! Dannie is very careful and deliberate in what she does, though. I am quite impressed.

i-9zD2w8B-XL

i-QDVfFPH-XL

i-QfGFXWn-XL

Dannie has been working on her walking skills. For at least a month, she has only been willing to walk when she was holding our hands. In the last few days (thanks to Paige), she has been trying to walk on her own. She will take off from the couch and go a few steps. She is very proud of herself when she does it. I am sure she will be running before long.

i-Bz7Fvnj-XL

20131113_185351

i-SV6Qzxd-XL

i-v6tKvFG-XL

And she definitely has mommy’s scowl!

And because I can hardly believe it…here’s proof from her ticker at the top of my site.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Posted on November 10, 2013 by Andi

Last week was my birthday. 33 years old young! It was also our 9 year anniversary. I got to celebrate all week long! Monday I got to spend the morning with a dear friend and her kiddos. Tuesday I hosted a MOPS playdate at my house and in the evening, some of my wonderful neighbor friends took me to dinner at Chevy’s. We had so much fun!

Chevy’s makes the yummiest peach margaritas!

20131105_201545

My friends made sure I was thoroughly embarrassed with songs, dessert and a sombrero!

20131105_202741

On Wednesday (my actual annibirthary) I saw some friends in the morning and had a really nice chat with a new friend. Then the girls and I went to Chuck’s office and had lunch with him. My dad stopped by to bring me a bunch of twice baked potatoes for my birthday and a gift! At night, my mom, stepdad, brothers and sister in law came over for dinner and ice cream cake! And Chuck got me something I have been wanting for months!!!

l_19430617_001

It’s a Kindle Paperwhite with a fabulous pink case. I have been neglecting everything so I can play with it! I’ve gotten quite a bit of reading done in the last few days! I love it!

On Thursday I had lunch with Chuck’s mom and sister. We went to Noodles! Mmmm! Friday night my mom came over and Chuck and I went out to celebrate our anniversary. It was a great week and I felt so loved and blessed all week long! Thank you to everyone that helped me celebrate and to everyone that wished me a happy birthday. It’s going to a be a wonderful year!

Murder At Spirit Falls & Stop Dressing Your Six Year Old Like a Skank

Posted on November 7, 2013April 7, 2016 by Andi

Murder_at_Spirit_Falls

Since I am really behind in updating the books I have read, this one will have two of them in it. The first one is Murder At Spirit Falls. Here’s a little about the book.

A No Ordinary Women Mystery. Robin Bentley’s cabin, perched above Spirit Falls in the lush Wisconsin woodland, is remote enough for her and her book club friends to shed the restraints of city living, hike in the woods, take moonlight walks and go skinny dipping under the waterfall. But when they discover a battered body below the falls, the No Ordinary Women find themselves up to their bifocals in a real mystery, and one of them could be the next victim.

We picked this for our “Local Author/Debut Novel” genre. It happened to be both. It sounds like this was the first in what is intended to be many books featuring these characters. It was ok. There wasn’t much character development and they weren’t very exciting to read about. There were some funny parts, but mostly I found myself skimming at the end. There were a lot of references to local areas. It felt like too many and they were overdoing that part a bit. The name of the newspaper and local mall isn’t something readers care about. But a friend pointed out that this probably happens in other books for other areas, we just don’t notice it as much because we aren’t from there.

Overall, the book was just OK. I won’t be shouting its praises from the hills or anything. But it wasn’t horrible. It had potential there were just some loose ends I didn’t care for at the end. There are lots of good books out there and unless you really want to read something by local authors, you can probably skip this one.

Speaking of books to skip….

223040

This was another book club book….Stop Dressing Your Six Year Old Like A Skank. It was for our “Comedy” genre. I didn’t think it was funny at all. I’ll admit I didn’t even finish it, but that was because it was awful and I had no desire to even try to tough it out. Some of my friends loved it, but I didn’t like the way it was written at all. It was a bunch of small “stories”. Like the author was sitting across from you ranting and whining about every random thing she could think about.

Celia Rivenbark is an intrepid explorer and acid commentator on the land south of the Mason-Dixon Line. In this collection of screamingly funny essays, you’ll discover:

*How to get your kid into a character breakfast at Disney World (or run the risk of eating chicken out of a bucket with Sneezy)

*Secrets of Celebrity Moms (don’t hate them because they’re beautiful when there are so many other reasons)

*ebay addiction and why “It ain’t worth having if it ain’t on ebay”

*Why today’s children’s clothes make six-year-olds look like Vegas showgirls with an abundance of anger issues

*And so much more!

Celia Rivenbark’s essays about life in today’s South are like caramel popcorn—sweet, salty, and utterly irresistible.

So that’s that. If you think you might like it, go for it. But I already checked to see if I could return it because it just wasn’t for me. Oh well. I like that I don’t love every book we pick. I think that’s the fun of book club. If it were up to me, I’d probably continually read the same type of book all the time. I love that I am forced to branch out and read something out of my comfort zone.

Happy reading!

Tiny Update

Posted on November 6, 2013 by Andi

My laptop has been at the “shop” waiting for a new battery. This laptop has a program on it I like to blog with. Therefore, that has been my excuse for not blogging since Dannie’s 11 month birthday. And since she turns 1 in a week, my poor blog has been sitting here unloved for weeks. 🙁

I have a bunch of things I keep meaning to write about. I started a new job about 6 weeks ago and I have been working during naptime. Which used to be my blogging time. So I am hoping to get back into the swing of things. Mostly because I really need to document some of the events and things that have happened since I suck at baby books. This may be the only way my kids know what they did when they grow up. And I have a crappy memory, so I better blog about them before I forget what happened!!!

Today is also my Annibirthary. I have had a busy week celebrating and there is still more fun to come! I have felt very loved!

So all that to say, hang in there. I haven’t forgotten about you!

20130808_075957-XL

I can’t believe this is my last monthly post before our little pumpkin turns ONE! (And again I am a couple days late posting this.) I swear Dannie’s first year has gone by way faster than Maddie’s first year did.

i-zgCS2Km-XL

Dannie is the happiest little baby and makes me laugh and giggle all the time. The faces this girl makes are something else!

i-gcgZb4M-XL

She is loving her food more and more (if that is even possible) and will try anything I give her. She was having a great time playing with spaghetti noodles the other night.

i-3D3Cvm2-XL

After she stuffs her face, she has been learning to put her food in the cup holder on her try. She was putting her cheese in and out and then clapping at herself. She was so proud!

i-gszJV95-XL

i-3vMzV8R-XL

I gave her my apple one day when I was done eating it. She thought it was great fun to suck on it and bite it.

i-WjkRZFN-XL

i-HGxG9gg-XL

We were at a restaurant recently and Dannie wanted to take bites off her banana. It was cute, except she wanted to eat the whole thing at once.

i-NjFRMZR-XL

Dannie had a couple days where she really liked playing while she was laying down. It was funny….and very unlike her to want to stay in one place.

i-6DjjWvW-XL

Our dear friend, Kelly, moved to Seattle and likes sending our girls clothes and toys. Two of the things for Dannie were a huge hit with the girls.

i-3Nk32Gh-XL

20131003_115047

I was sitting with Maddie on the couch one morning and Dannie was very upset that she wasn’t up there, too. I took so many pictures of her crying at us. Smile

i-9DQtZwV-XL

Dannie loves my phone. It was her motivation to start moving. I should really use it as incentive to get this girl to walk. Smile  This time I used it to get her to sit in one spot for her monthly photos. Smile

i-43776C6-XL

i-n4zVDCf-XL

Dannie has really started to love books. I haven’t taken very many pictures of her playing with them, but she will sit and turn the pages. It’s one of the only things that will keep her occupied for a couple minutes at a time.

i-mCP5F72-XL

Dannie loves getting into the drawer under the oven. Maddie loved it, too.

i-jhQ8dGQ-XL

Some of the time, the girls play nicely together. This was a rare occasion that they were playing happily together. But it usually ends in tears because Maddie decides the toy Dannie has is hers and she can’t play with it anymore.

i-FMTvLzj-XL

Dannie has started to fight back a little bit. Maddie likes to lay on top of Dannie and D has taken to grabbing her hair. Then M gets mad and I just laugh. Great parenting, I know. Smile

i-dz3Hgxc-XL

Everyone tells me they will like each other when they get older and be best friends. Times like this where they love each other give me hope. Smile

i-Nm8CCZf-XL

Dannie loves the zoo and her favorite place is the fish tank. She was all smiles and wide eyes when we were there with grandma. She also likes that I will take her out of the stroller more and let her enjoy the zoo.

i-gF2hRGv-XL

i-Kgh59GG-XL

Dannie also loves playing at the park. One morning before lunch, I took the girls to the park behind our house. Dannie was having a wonderful time playing and exploring!

i-kk3ZCqD-XL

i-mXWnbDw-XL

i-mZj4VnL-XL

i-GF59Rsw-XL

This little stinker likes to get into everything. her favorite thing is to reach under the couch and find goodies….usually power cords. She also went over to Maddie’s picnic table the other day and climbed right up onto the bench. I think Dannie is going to be my daredevil!

i-KsmQCK6-XL

Everything is still going in her mouth these days. Between teething and a never-ending cold, she has been putting anything she can find in her mouth and drooling all over the place. She has also learned that she can make lots of fun noises and sounds with her mouth. Her favorite is raspberries.

i-LBkxXXw-XL

I can’t wait to see what this next month brings. She is getting so big every day and less and less like my little baby.

i-FNQ9bNP-XL

Happy 11 months little monkey, pumpkin, silly pants, Dan Dan….we love you!

Breezy Point

Posted on September 26, 2013September 26, 2013 by Andi

Early in August (I’m really behind with posts!) we took a trip with my family to my aunt and uncle’s cabin at Breezy Point. I was there the weekend before for an annual girls weekend….I’ll spare you the drunken pictures. Unless you really want to see them. Smile My family has gone to Breezy Point for as long as I can remember. It’s a place I fondly remember from my childhood.

It was such a wonderful weekend! We were busy the whole time and the weekend just flew by. Here are some pictures (ok…lots of pictures) from the weekend.

My aunt and uncle have a bunch of grandkids, so they had oodles of toys up there. We never even took out the toys we brought with for the girls to play with. Here is Maddie having fun in the car.

IMG_8128-XL

We got Maddie a cot for our trips this summer. She did great and really loved her own little bed.

IMG_8137-XL

We went swimming and Maddie loves the pool more and more. She is also getting brave and likes to swim by herself with her noodle.

IMG_8138-XL

“Floating” in the kiddie pool.

IMG_8153-XL

Maddie found the bug net. She had a great time trying to catch bugs. I don’t recall if she ever actually caught anything, though.

IMG_8159-XL

IMG_8162-XL

Maddie wanted to eat breakfast on the floor one morning. Of course, this meant that mommy had to sit there with her.

20130808_075957-XL

We went fishing one day on a nice little dock. We even caught a few fish.

20130808_163332-XL

20130808_170200-XL

My step-dad, Dave LOVES holding Dannie. He would hold her all day!

20130808_170220-XL

My brother, Charlie, fishing.

20130808_170233-XL

Out to dinner.

20130808_174200-XL

Playing at a nearby park. It was a really nice park and had lots of nice play equipment there.

IMG_8175-XL

IMG_8178-XL

Maddie discovered she liked my headbands. She put this one on all by herself. Smile

IMG_8195-XL

Another park. Maddie loves to hang and climb! It’s so nice that she is old enough to do just about everything at parks and we don’t need to watch her as closely.

IMG_8201-XL

IMG_8224-XL

IMG_9275-XL

My step-dad and brother.

IMG_8226-XL

Maddie loved playing in the sand at the beach.

IMG_8236-XL

IMG_9258-XL

One night we walked to an ice cream place. Maddie picked pink ice cream because it’s her favorite color. She was pretty excited to learn it was strawberry. She told us she loved it!

IMG_8264-XL

IMG_8272-XL

Dannie was happy we took her out of the stroller to bang on the table!

IMG_8265-XL

Campfire. (Charlie, Katie, me, Adam)

IMG_8281-XL

Dannie and I one evening at the beach/park.

We went to a berry festival in a neighboring town. There was shopping, food and games.

IMG_8321-XL

More swimming. Dannie really loves the water.

IMG_8328-XL

Katie and me!!

IMG_8368-XL

Maddie enjoying a s’more.

IMG_8377-XL

My mom and Maddie.

IMG_8394-XL

IMG_8422-XL

Maddie really loves Adam. They are so silly together. Adam found these hats somewhere while he was out on the golf cart. They were a big hit with Maddie…and Adam. Smile

IMG_8412-XL

I love this look on Maddie’s face!

IMG_9517-XL

IMG_9530-XL

Maddie was scaring Adam. Smile

IMG_9540-XL

And these last two pictures just remind me of summer. Dirty, same clothes for days, s’mores all over your face, bare feet….and a 4th of July hat.

IMG_9554-XL

IMG_8419-XL

A couple things we didn’t take pictures of:

  • lots of walks
  • we went canoeing a couple times while the girls napped
  • Chuck, Dave, Charlie and my mom played tennis, roasting Starbursts (don’t bother trying…it didn’t actually work), camping in the back yard (Chuck, me, Adam and Katie…and Kipp) camped. My mom, Dave, Charlie and our girls stayed in the cabin.
  • Chuck, me, Adam and Katie went out for drinks and dancing one night. We had a great time.
  • lots of rock throwing….one of Maddie’s favorite activities
  • a picnic dinner after grilling

We are so thankful we got to go enjoy some time away with the family. We had a great time and I was sore for days from all the laughing (it might have really been from the dancing) and I love that we made some great memories with the girls!

10 Months Old

Posted on September 15, 2013September 18, 2013 by Andi

I’m a couple days late getting this posted, but I certainly didn’t forget my baby turned 10 months old on Friday the 13th. There’s going to be lots of those in her years, I think!

20130913_160923

20130913_160953

Dannie has a new favorite toy – a doll! She kisses it, licks it, bites its arms and legs….

20130913_162323

And even though you can’t really tell, she also beats the baby on the floor.

20130913_162331

20130913_162412

She got her other bottom tooth over Labor Day weekend and is starting to get a top tooth. Maybe you can see it….she has taken to throwing her head back and laughing. It’s hilarious.

20130828_163344

She’s also started trying to cruise around the furniture and she will try walking when I set her up to her toy.

20130912_081433

Dannie was up on her toes in this picture and Maddie is clapping for her saying “good job, Dannie!”

IMG_1697

Dannie is all over the place. I have tried trapping her in the living room, but she HATES it and will just sit there and wail until you let her out. She just wants to be part of the action.

20130913_162340

Maddie loves “playing” with Dannie. She’s usually not very gentle. I snapped a couple pictures of them playing. These are the ones where Maddie isn’t on top of her. All those pictures need their own post.

20130912_083555

20130912_083717

More playing together.

IMG_1709

IMG_1724

Dannie loves when Maddie plays with her….as long as she lets her hold on to a toy for more than a second. Smile

20130911_080225

20130908_172938

Dannie is a trooper and is generally pretty happy in the stroller.

IMG_0351

IMG_0451

She’s especially happy if you keep handing her food!

IMG_0654

Dannie got her first ride in the cart at Target. She loves it!

20130903_093551

But she wanted to turn around the whole time and see where we were going. I don’t blame her. Smile

20130903_093602

This girl makes the silliest faces….all the time. She’s a goofball! I laugh at her all day long. In these pictures she was trying to get Maddie to play with her, but Maddie was ignoring her because she was playing the ipad. Smile

20130828_163404

20130828_163417

20130828_163448

Dannie is a great eater. She eats pretty much everything you give her. Fruit is her favorite thing to eat and she will pick it out of a pile of food. A friend said that when she gets some teeth on top, she’s going to be like a wood chipper with her food. He isn’t wrong. Girl loves her food!

IMG_1591

She’s really good at holding her bottle. Sometimes she even falls asleep.

20130828_074029

20130814_133100

Dannie also loves swings. Way more than Maddie did when she was her age. But I tend to put Dannie in the swing more than Maddie because I need her contained while Maddie is at the park.

IMG_0569

IMG_0476

IMG_9983

Dannie had a big 9th month. We went to the State Fair, the North Shore, farmer’s markets and she had her first visit to Iowa and Nebraska when we went to see Chuck’s grandparents in August. Here’s just a few pictures of Dannie. There are a TON of pictures that are still to come when I get to writing about our trips.

Sculpture Garden

Posted on September 10, 2013 by Andi

One weekend, earlier in the summer (I think it was July), we went and wandered around the Sculpture Garden. There’s lots to see and Maddie had fun running around. Dannie wasn’t feeling very well, so we were happy to get out of the house for a while. I don’t remember the last time I walked around the whole garden.

Maddie has a love obsession with fire hydrants.

What We’ve Been Eating These Days

Posted on September 9, 2013April 7, 2016 by Andi

A few people have been asking what we’ve been eating since we overhauled our diet a number of months back. I sent a long email of ideas to a friend and thought some of you might be interested as well. Maybe this will help some of you get some new meal ideas.

Zucchini Chips

Onion Rings

Lettuce Wraps – we have added carrots and have even made them without meat before.

Szechuan Green Beans

General Tso Chicken Love this one with brown rice. We ate it last week without the rice and just had sautéed veggies with it.

Turkey Burgers – we made a twist on these and froze them for Maddie. But Chuck and I loved them. We used ground chicken and added shredded zucchini and shredded carrots. So yummy! We splurged once and had them on pretzel rolls!

Wild Rice Burgers – my new favorite!

Kabobs – we make kabobs a lot when guests come over. If you have time to prep them the night before, you would save time when you get home from work. We add cherry tomatoes, peppers, onions, and sometimes chicken that was marinated in a teriyaki sauce. But usually the chicken is left off for us and we eat the veggies. I will sometimes make some wild rice to go with it.

Quesadillas Chuck used to make quesadillas when we first started eating this way, but we started making tacos instead because it was faster. But for lunch, I will take a whole wheat tortilla, add peppers and onions, some salsa and cheese and microwave it. If we have been to the farmers market, I will add some black bean hummus to it. 🙂 Very fast, really tasty.

We make veggie tacos a lot. Cut up peppers and onions, sauté in a little olive oil until tender and add taco seasoning. Then use toppings as usual.

Veggie pizza – whole wheat Boboli pizza crust (in pizza isle), sauté some peppers and onions until slightly tender, add pizza sauce (or salsa) to the pizza, top with veggies and cheeses and bake until lightly brown. Chuck has also learned to make his own pizza crust…yum!!

We also sauté peppers and onions and add some soy sauce to season as they are cooking. Then we eat them with salmon (which we bake on a cookie sheet for the package’s suggested time, brushed with a little olive oil and a little cayenne pepper).

Some useful tips: cut up a bunch of peppers and onions when you have time and keep them in a container it the fridge ready to use.

We use yellow and red onions and all colors of bell peppers almost every day.

Soy sauce makes veggies yummy! Yes, there’s some salt, but get low sodium and don’t worry too much about it.

We also eat a ton of fruit, strawberries, pineapple, apples, berries, watermelon…anything you want. We have a fruit with all our meals.

We buy Annie’s food for Maddie. And there are a bunch of soups by Amy’s that I really like. They are a good lunch.

We eat a bunch of nuts for protein.

Mostly, look for products with a very short list of ingredients. Triscuits have only three ingredients. At least look for ingredients that you can pronounce.

I have been taking lots of pictures of my meals. Here are some of the pictures from my phone of meals we have eaten. I apologize for the poor quality. And these have been taken over many months. For instance, we don’t have rice in our tacos anymore. Smile

Veggie tacos.

Veggie quesadilla. I have these many days for lunch since there are usually chopped veggies in the fridge already. Today I added my Black Bean and Chioptle Hummus to it! YUM!

More veggie tacos. Chuck will add zucchini into the cooked veggies, too.

Amy’s Vegetable Barley soup. I have bought it at Target by the soups and Cub in the Organic section. It comes in a green can and I LOVE IT!

More quesadillas.

Salad, fruit and nut crackers that I brought to a picnic lunch. On our last picnic, I filled the large section with chips, the small section with our homemade salsa and the medium one with fruit. That is my favorite picnic lunch!

Turkey burgers. We froze these in hopes of Maddie eating them, but she didn’t like them that much. We ended up eating them one night on a splurge of pretzel buns. It was delicious!

Sautéed veggies, pineapple, onion rings and turkey burger on a pretzel bun.

My favorite onion rings. I really like them dipped in BBQ sauce! I could eat these every night!

Another quesadilla.

My favorite pizza! This was a crust that Chuck made. It was delicious and so filling. I like using salsa instead of tomato sauce and I like pepperjack cheese.

Zucchini chips. Yum! They have a little spicy kick to them.

20130702_181233

Lettuce wraps with lettuce from our garden. This was made with chicken, but we have made it with tofu and just veggies, too. Did you know that Noodles has an amazing order of lettuce wraps? I get them every time….with some potstickers!

Szechuan green beans. So flavorful and the only way I will eat green beans.

20130725_174700

Szechuan green beans, pineapple and pan fried walleye. I at lots more walleye than this!

20130812_180820

Sautéed veggies, salmon and zucchini noodles. (We tried the noodles a couple times and a couple ways, and I don’t really care for them. Chuck thought they were really good, though.)

Wild rice burgers!!! Chuck’s newest meal and my new very favorite! I want to eat this for every meal. It was so good and melted in your mouth.

Melty pepperjack cheese on my wild rice burger! So good!!!

I hope you find something on here that you might be willing to give a try. I am so grateful that Chuck likes cooking and has done all the grocery shopping, cooking and dinner clean up. He’s amazing and I am eating so much better because of him!

Happy eating!!

Farmer’s Market & Como Zoo

Posted on September 8, 2013September 8, 2013 by Andi

This morning we went to the Farmer’s Market and then Como Zoo. We haven’t been to the Farmer’s Market in quite a while. It was so nice to go now that there are so many fruits and vegetables there! WE got the most delicious watermelon, a cantaloupe (because Maddie LOVES them), green beans (because Chuck makes really yummy ones) and the black bean and chipotle hummus that I like. I can’t stop eating the watermelon. SOOOO good!

We also saw the cutest food ever! Check out these baby cucumbers!

Maddie got a bag of popcorn and we were off to the zoo. She had a good time riding on Chuck’s shoulders today.

20130908_102838

She was able to get a good view of the baby giraffe! So very cute. It was 130 pounds when it was born. I think the volunteer said it was only 5 days old!

20130908_102845

These cute little Spider Monkeys were snuggling!

And the tiger was hanging out in his pool.

20130908_103531

The antelopes were fighting, the zebras were walking around, the wolves were chasing each other, the seal was being trained and doing fun tricks, the polar bear was swimming all over in front of the glass and the orangutan was wearing a box to entertain its baby. It was a great trip to the zoo!

Dannie loved it, too!

The girls went right down for naps. We wore them out! That’s the sign of a good Sunday morning! And who knows what adventures we will have this afternoon. Weekends are the best!
